Are These Upgrades The Future Of Lever Action Rifles

- The Lever action rifle is a certified icon considering the first concept of a lever action rifle started in 1848. Lever action rifles are like sports cars with manual transmissions.
Sure, their analog nature makes them debatably outdated.
However, it’s the laborious analog action of racking the lever before each shot or shifting each gear yourself through the dexterous artform of the clutch in, shift, and then gas that makes them extremely engaging to shoot and drive.
I've always respected lever action rifles, but I didn't drool over them until I saw them all tactically displayed with these futuristic updates

Lever guns have a special place in my heart. The first gun I ever fired was my dad’s Winchester 22. That was some 40 years ago I still have that rifle and it still shoots perfectly.
👍Nice to see em coming back. My 1981 Marlin 336 30-30 still pristine & dropping KY White-Tail after all these years. My Dad gave it to me new @ 13. We enjoyed many seasons. (RIP Pops🙏)
Lucky you, my dad would probably sell all his shit just to hoard his money in his grave.
Same here. Dad gave me mine (used) for Christmas one year and I'm also back in KY now 👍
@@benjaminbradley3009awesome! According to my mom, my dad put it on layaway in order to get it to me for Christmas as well. Welcome back to Gods country!
@@andyd834Dang, that’s rough. I suspect you’re a better man than he. 👍
Lever action rifles avoid some of the mag capacity laws in some states . . . so tacticooling them makes sense for those areas. Here in free 'Murica, they're just cool! :)
wait until you see a mag fed leveraction tacticooled out. say for instance a savage 99 in 308.....
If you get a 450 bushmaster upper, they use the standard 5.56 magazines as 10 rounders. You can buy and own them for your 450. It would just be illegal to load them in your 5.56
I was about to say the same thing. As a CA resident, I think these might be helpful here.
Finally! You are doing a review of something not "typical" for the day
Lever guns are my shit, but I'm not big on the modernized ones.
Well, his 40 yr old eyes can't focus on irons any more, which is why he puts optics on EVERYTHING that it's possible to hang them on. Also he's likely getting the "old man shakes", which is why he hangs a huge WML on EVERYTHING he can to get a little more stabilizing weight out there. We're all getting older...
@@dashcammer4322, batteries run out. Glasses don't.
I have nothing against a bit of modernism but stainless steel and a laminated stock is about as far as I'm ready to go...
Nothing beats the appeal of polished blued steel and walnut wood stock though.
@@ShaeferGriffin-it9nxor get a lpvo 🤦🏽♂️
@@AxLWake bah, you sound old. :)
Been looking floor a lever action for a while. This one is exactly what I was looking for! Great video. Thank you! Love your content!
You missed out growing up with the rifleman original run.. only 'gun' my parents allowed.
I loved the rifleman. I even had the rifleman action figure. GI Joe had competition
I still watch Rifleman today.
This episode,,,, just put a big smile on my face. I’ll have to stop by MidWest and browse through.
*Colion Noir* Bravo well done, thank-you sir for taking the time to bring us along. GOD Bless.
It's a perfect blend of tradition and innovation, ensuring these classics remain relevant in today's ever-evolving firearms landscape.
Great episode. I love lever action rifles and a big soft spot for Henrys. My first gun I ever bought was an original Henry .22, still have it, and it shoots like a dream. Big fan of wood furniture, just the pure beauty and feel of it, but after seeing these mods I definitely got a little drool factor.
It looks fantastic, and your analysis is great. You are really selling this thing for me.
I always loved lever action rifles ..
The big plus is that you can have a handgun and a rifle chambered in the same caliber 🇺🇸
I really like your channel, all your content and information. Thank you very much for keeping us up to date and very informed
So glad to see this vid! I have my marlin 30-30 all covered in Midwest industries. I get comments and questions every time I pull it out of the bag on the range. Awesome fun time with a tactical lever action!
I believe innovations like these not only enhance the shooting experience but also demonstrate the adaptability of firearms technology while preserving our Second Amendment rights.
Nice timing. I recently picked up this exact rifle but in .45 colt and completely built it out with this kit.
As a Texan I am a rather old and boring tradionalist, I will get an 1866 Yellow Boy in 45LC with a matching 1973 SAA 7 inch barrel. To "modernize" them to me is a criminal. No offense Colion nothing but respect for you.
Chiappa, 1886, 27" barrel, in 45-70. That and my old Marlin 30A 30-30. Southeast Texas now. But, West Texas has my heart and will return as soon as my wife retires.
I'm with you one hundred percent, I carry a Cimmaron Firearms "Winchester" 1873 sporting rifle as my everyday carry rifle and am perfectly happy with it. I just can't see the sense in the tacticool stuff on one, but to each there own
That's the beauty of guns. They're versatile enough that they can used as they were originally made, or customized with the latest and greatest tacticool stuff for aesthetics and functionality. The gun community needs people like you who'll commemorate the originality and history of firearms.
I'd say, keep your Yellow Boy, but add a "tactical" Marlin in 45LC. Now, THAT'S badass!
@@paulis7319same goes to cars. Best of both worlds!
I’m thinking I’d stick with walnut and blued steel with some buckhorn irons. No need for a cheek riser. One of the attributes that’s so appealing of the lever action is how sleek it is moving through the woods. Strapping a bunch of stuff on it gets rid of that feature. Outfit your AR, honor the tradition of the lever. My two cents.
The Henry they make the smoothest butter like lever action I've ever held and used
levers are the easiest guns to slick up imho. once you know how, its an art and comes naturally. ive got an addiction to them all.... from win 92's to henrys and marlins and more... they all are just amazing tools.
I'm old school. I like the traditional Winchester 94. My grandfather rode shotgun on a stage coach in Idaho. I have the Winchester that he carried while he rode shotgun. The stock was busted and angled down from a normal Winchester. The front sight was repaired using a penny. The best part is that it still shoots. Not worth much, but it is priceless to me. But I also really like the one you are showing!!!
Keep it up. Like seeing new things
Never cared for them until seeing them modernized like this. Makes me want one.
@Colion you REALLY need to check out the stuff from Ranger Point Precision.
Legit!
Yes their costa rail system is sweet and check out chisel mfg for a nice stock.
Love me some Ranger Point parts
You are spot on. I was going to mention that myself. First take-down with a thumb turned lever screw - I was sold on them. It allowed me to consider actually cleaning the bore properly, vs deadheading the brush. So much simpler. Anywhere, anytime.
Nooooo! Light and handy without all that crap! Then again, whatever floats your boat, you make great videos.
My dad and I are lever action people. I've lost track of how many he has now. I'm up to 4 at the moment. 3 Henry's in varying calibers and 1 Citadel tactical lever. I love how they shoot and carry one in my pickup and tractor quite often. Aren't too loud to shoot, simple, and reliable. I'm still waiting for the AR lever conversions to go on sale. Plan on building a gun based on that platform when they will finally take my money lol.
I did up an older Marlin 3030 with Midwest and XS parts. LOVE it!
Love the video!
These rifles are bad ass, many thanks for covering this.
I might not go all in on the tactical lever action trend, but it is nice to see some quality of life improvements done to the design so that they're not stagnating technology wise. Honestly it surprises me more how few lever action models have been modified to easily mount a red dot or have a threaded barrel model considering the rise in popularity of modern optics and suppressors.
I'd likely want something in the middle like a wood furniture Winchester 92 but with a compact red dot and a tri-lug muzzle device that I could QD a suppressor onto.
That's a dope hat, Mr. Colion. Definitely going to be ordering. 😊
Looks really sharp, I got a Marlin 30-30. I may have to look into this.
it is tempting
Keep up the good work
Great content
Great video
Sounds great!
Love them! I have a bunch of them but would love to have one of each kind and variant.
Gorgeous looking lever action.
Great info
I’ve seen every episode of Rifleman in reruns, almost old enough to have seen them live and appreciate the classic rifle. However, like mentioned just have two lever actions.
I would never replace or alter the wood of my Marlin, because its gorgeous.
I find the modernized look to be something along the lines of my favorite Jurassic Park quote about scientists asking if they could
"Your scientists were so preoccupied with whether or not they could, they didn't stop to think if they should"
Very nice tool!
I’ve had a Henry sitting in my safe for donkeys years. It’s never been fired. This video is giving me ideas…and that usually costs me money. Cheers!
Love it 🎯
"I just couldn't help myself." 🤣
Just picked up a ruger made marlin 45-70 dark series and it's a beauty 👌
I'm in a 45-70 Facebook group. Every time someone posts their "modern lever gun" there's always guys saying the gun is ruined, if you want an AR get an AR, blah blah. It's annoying as shit. They can't get over it.
I have a Marlin Dark Series 45-70 with Ranger Point Precision hardware. I love it as much as I love the traditional lever gun look. BUT, the "other guys" can't seem to like the modern/tactical look. Funny how that works.
Nice '' Great Stuff 💯💥💥💥💥💥💥💥
Making Lever Actions Great Again, Murica!
I built an 1894 Marlin 44 mag a couple years ago with Ranger Precision parts, amazing rifle.
Awesome sauce ❤
My trapper in the .45-70 is one of my favorites.
yea the only rifle that was successfully stolen from my collection years back that i could not find.
I have been a fan of Henry's golden boys and own several. Colion, you are very good at spending my money . Now, I'm going to have to start thinking about what caliber Henry's tactical to purchase first. Thanks a lot.
i used a henry golden boy in 45lc for a home invasion at a relatives house a few days ago. it ran flawless. the intruder stopped running altogether.
Purchased a Rossi 92 Triple Black in .357/.38. Also own a Pietta 1873 Lawman SAA in .357/.38. Love lever guns as I'm a big fan of the old west. Live in Casa Grande Az. And was born in Az.
That opening was beautiful. Also, that thing would look right at home on Fallout.
hey Colion,
love me a nice L.A. rifle. got two ‘94 Win’s, and a Marlin myself. all in .30-30 Win.
makes it simpler to take all three to shoots.
all mine are tack drivers, although all three produced in ‘60’s to ‘70’s era.
keep on shooting!
good show @Colion; even if I personally just can’t see contaminating my L.A.’s with “goodies!”
Brother, respectfully, you have an extremely twisted weird concept of sexy. That new lever gun is extreme.......YEEEEUK! No way! ☮
I got a drak series and just got recently upgraded with midwest industries...... It's a bad ass gun(beautiful).
I love lever actions. Don't own one myself, in Europe unfortunately, but would love nothing more.
Keep making these videos Colion. I noted that you said the .357 Mag didn't have any recoil and I'm positive that it didn't. That reminded me that my Dad bought my Mom a Winchester Model 94 in .44 Mag (in 1969). He had a Ruger Super Blackhawk in .44 Mag that had a lot of recoil. When we shot the Winchester Model 94 in .44 Mag, it really didn't have any recoil either. At the time, we just called it a woman's gun (Mom's). The only problem I have with the future lever actions is that they just aren't as pretty as a Winchester or Marlin with the nice wood forearm & stock on them.
My Dad always called this type a 'Saddle Rifle' and I've meant to get one out of pure nostalgia. You convinced me now is the time and this is the way. Thanks!
saddle rifles had a ring on the receiver, people often removed the ring because it made noise when hunting. i have several true saddle ring carbines. a win 92 in 32-20, a win 32 win special, another win 32 win special.... most dont have the rings, and are not saddle ring carbines. there is a difference.
Because I am generation gwot I have a special love for a quad rail. Although outdated, it has memories for me.
Ah, preemptively building your Colorado compliant rifle I see.
Yeessss ❤ I love my LETEC 357. Great shooter and amazing backpack gun.
WOW! That lever action is BA!!
Now I want one!!😁😁
iconic..it will never go out of style
Love me some Henry lever actions. These new tactical versions are pretty sweeeet!
I inherited a Winchester model 1894 lever action chambered in "30 W.C.F." (later called the 30-30) and from the SN# it was probably made in 1911. Still runs well. front sight post is a little beat up from the years though!
That stock marlin lever action is a beauty
I love it looks good 😮
Awsome looking rifle.
Love the HAT bro!! Salty Army Is Legion!!
I've got my Henry All-Weather 45-70 decked out in Rangerpoint Precision furniture. You should definitely give them a look too. They are out of Cypress, TX.
Bruh. I just subscribed for your news videos because i forgot that 90% of your videos are ads, and then there are ads within the ads
For my lever action desires i went for a Win 308 168 gr. feeding into a Browning BLR with Aimpoint T2 micro. Not as TactiCool but fills my purpose of a short range high penetrating rifle.
Thanks Colion
Good stuff.
1. Ranger point precision.
2. 45-70
3. Marlin.....
Yeah, I know it’s the one that sent you that was a marlin because it sales out on the side winch always over at the top. Do you want to go and kick get a 44 mag or if they can get you 50 collar like the cow pistol you’ll know what to kick in. That’s a real good bullet, love you show. God bless you.
Lever action guns have always been a favorite of mine, I have the good old model 94, my Dad bought it at Kmart in probably 1976, I think it was about $150.00 but I could be wrong. I like the old school look for a lever gun, but I’m starting to like the tactical look as well.
Love my Marlin 45-70 1895G Model It's been upgraded to Ranger Precision/Costa Ludus specs and it's definitely hot!
very cool.
I've been modding my Marlin 1895 GBL 45-70 almost done 🤤
Mad Pig is another one, the same group who did them for the last John Wick film (and I have been wanting for sometime). I love the lever action, and love how these are done (plus, so far they have dodge any sort of assault weapon ban)
I just realized that a modern lever action is probably the next best option for home defense in NY.
Lever guns might not be as practical as other options, but they are one of the most fun
Nice Video
Thanks for the video I had a lever rifle in 45-70 before but I traded it
Yep yep yep time to buy another lever action just to kit it as displayed here
Always wanted one
Love the level action rifle that Mr. no name was shooting on John Wick 4 .......💯
It’s settled I’m getting a lever action 🤘🏽
Great video, nice to see that you are easily pleased like the rest of us 😂
I love the new modernized lever actions. 😎🤘🏼
I was wondering if we could get a list of all the attachments. Mostly the light and the thing that was above the light.
Try Law Shield. Had an interesting incident as PPO and they were very helpful and very fast. I appalled them!
Got my ear budz thanks there are the truth 🙌
Love Ranger Point Precision stuff for tactical lever guns.
