As a Greek, I have great respect for our respectable enemy (the Persian Empire) because they were a great civilization and influenced the world much like us🇬🇷❤️🇮🇷
Greeks and Persians had so much together and history without either doesn't make any sense. Both brought so much to humanity.
@@nimacastro7664 I completely agree 👍🏻

From ancient enemy's to modern friend's
Cyrus the great was a decent human being and merciful conquerer.
A great king.
There's no such thing as merciful conqueror.
He wants nothing but blood and expansion of kingdom, and rule over other people that minded their own business
How do you know? Did you know him personally?
@@mahkanyazdani5990 if u need to conquer u need to crush others. Which technically contradict with the idea of mercy right ...
@@Aj-hs5vw Yeah but he conquered and abolish slavery in all territories that he conqured. If there is a reason why he want to expand his kingdom, that will be to spread his teaching and revolutionary societal rule. If persian had won the battle in greek, slavery can be abolish thousands of years before modern times. You will probably wonder how the world will thrive with a government that does not discriminate different faith and ban slavery.
Mind you, every kingdom around persia at that time glorify slavery and sacking other cities. Cyrus probably conquered the other kingdom to eliminate the constant looting and sacking of his territories and at the same time spreading the persian way of life without slavery and without discrimination.
Guys listen to Dan Carlin's podast King of Kings parts if you want a complete story of what was going on back in Mesopotamia back then and when medes and persians came to power the guy only release a chapter every 6 months or so. It was a bloody mess, a unification was needed whether you are pro persian or not these folks and kingdoms had suffered a lot under assyrian rule and Cyrus the great was a complete game changer of his age truly considering his background of being a nomad of nothing.
Cyrus the great sounds like he was a great guy!
That's cause he was hon. Take my word for it, I am persian.

@@saracen5039 most but not all, or would you just casually shrugh of Julius Caesar?
Yes he was indeed Great
Persian history, civilization, culture, customs and traditions have been one of the richest and most beautiful empires of all time. The first kingdom of the world was Cyrus the Great. A prophet who embodied all the purity and goodness of his time. But he did not force or enslave any people. Liberation of the Jews. Reconciling nations. Due to the enmity and perhaps jealousy of European historians and unfortunately the destruction of history books due to the invasion of Alexander and then the Arab invasion and then the Mongol invasion, historical information about Iran is much less than information about Greece or Rome. The impact that the Iranians had on the evolution of human society, whether through inventions and discoveries and having the greatest scientists and physicians, is a great blessing to humanity. I hope that the services of Iranians to the world will be paid more and better. And know that the Islamic Republic is not the representative of the pure land of our ancestors.

*_8:45_**_ Yes. The Greeks were extremely proud of their freedom especially 2/3rds of their population who were slaves to the other 1/3rd_*

@@alizamanlou437 The Spartans had more slaves than anybody. Spartans had to be soldiers by law, guess who had to do the farming? Slaves. That’s why the 300 movie is so funny.
So what? Cyrus II was the _only_ emperor in ancient times (& the only ruler until the 18th century!) who abolished slavery in his empire. The Greeks were far from the only people to keep slaves; African societies took & used slaves for centuries before any white man thought of going to Africa--when they weren't being enslaved, brutalized, & transported up through North Africa by Arab Muslims, that is. There are even records of African slaves being imported to China.
As ancient civilizations go, some of the Greek city-states had more freedom overall than any other during their era.

I love to read and study history. Especially history from the Bible. This video confirms these historical books of the Bible, Daniel, Ezra, Nehemiah, Esther, and 2 Chronicles. Even in the book of Isaiah, which was written about 740 BC foretold that Cyrus the Great would conquer Babylon and how he would conquer them. Cyrus was born in 590 BC, 150 years after Isaiah wrote about him. Isaiah 45:1 To open before him the double doors, so that the gates won't be shut. Cyrus diverted the water from the river Euphrates low enough to go under the walls of Babylon, and the other double doors were left open. Verse 13, Cyrus shall build My (God's) city and let My (God's) exiles (the Israelites) go free. Which were written in the books of Ezra and Nehemiah. Even in the book of Daniel, Daniel was told of the rising and falling of Kingdoms before it happened.

ALSO IT WAS GREEKS THAT DESTROYED CYRUS HIS TOMB AND NOT PERSIAN MAGI
@@ArianTheDon88 Exactly, why should a Persian Magi sack Cyrus tomb. It's words dirctly coming from those Greek invaders who would justify their atrocities by murdering Persian Magis and statemen.

Moment of silent for the mid century war horses
Much of Greece was Persian territory and because of the peace brought about by the Persian rule, Greece prospered so much (even Herodotus was a Persian citizen). After Alexander (the not so great) Greece was devastated, and there was no more peace to bring about intellectual work. That put an end to Greek cultural and intellectual influence in the world.
When Alexander the Great became King, Persia was conquered entirely. That was the END of Persia and the beginning of a Greek Golden age
The world need more leaders like Cyrus The
Great and Darius The Great
It was an accident that they were imprisoned here.
they kept respawning , they fought romans for centuries then arabs then ottomans . the word persian empire will keep appearing and reapearing until 19th century . they were immortals and outlived Rome and the greeks
And now their enemy is the United States.
@@supremo9336 No need to make it political haha
Now they are EVIL- Iran & their nuclear weapons, their bullying of Jews & Christians...
@@jamellfoster6029 i wouldn't call that evil . And we all know who is the biggest bully . And since when Shias bully christians ? Who saved them in syria from terrorists and did most the fight against isis ? Wasnt iran russia and syria and irak the coalition that truly defeated them by capturing 90% of the territories?
The only massacres of chriatians in syria were done by rebelles and that was documented well . Adra massacre is an example. Google it .
@@supremo9336 they will outlive them aswell . Iran is history of a people and a land that keep going and rusing up . Usa is history of an unstable union between a group of different migrants and states .
Iran saw much worst . Its capital persepolis was rased , but they had the last laugh .
I’m proud of being a Persian!
Viva king of the kings Cyrus
The depiction of Persian army has always been faulty. They didn't go to battle in party dresses and pajamas. Instead, they were heavily shielded and equipped.
You should have told the story of how darius the great came to power . Its an intresting one
Being Honest was the most precious thing that anyone could have in ancient Persia ♥
I'm an african and I love to learn more about persian history
At the 11:27 mark of the video you'll see a fake depiction of Xerxes and a very important artifact behind him that's coincidentally blurred out. You should see the actual image, it's called "The Frieze of the Archers" and it'll show you how the Persians depicted themselves.
What I love about then is they disseminate the equality, justice and democracy
There friezes showing Ethiopian kings honouring the Persian Shah in Iran,The Persians also Ruled North Africa..
I want to go all over Africa and I want to visit Sandton!
@@Quan_Fu , Persians were & are white people. All Iranians are white originated from Eastern Europe long before the arrival of the Slavs. Aryans(Scythians) who migrated to the Iranian Plateau 8 to 10,000 years ago & gradually established their various kingdoms (one of them was the kingdom of Persia). About 2500 years ago Cyrus the king of Persia united all the Iranian kingdoms into one empire (Iranian empire & called it Arya-Shahr, which means the Aryan-Civilization) today it's known as Persian empire because Cyrus was an Iranian-Persian.
The Iranians had developed many Iranian dialects over time so after they were unified by Cyrus the Great Iranians used their Persian dialect as their unifying dialect which is used to this day. Persian dialect evolved from its ancient Persian to Middle Persian (Pahlavi) and to its modern Persian (Parsi/Farsi) today.
