Islamic rule in India was a form of colonialism, characterized by the imposition of a foreign islamic culture, religion, and political system on the Indian subcontinent. Muslims were foreign invaders who came to India and imposed their Islamic faith and culture on the indigenous population. They point to examples of the destruction of Hindu temples, the imposition of Jizya tax on non-Muslims, and the forced conversions to Islam as evidence of this colonialist mindset. Muslim social attitudes on modern issues have caused controversy everywhere. Islam to be incompatible with secular society, and that, unlike other religions, Islam positively commands its adherents to impose its religious law on all peoples, believers and unbelievers alike, whenever possible and by any means necessary. Islam allows to propagate abuses, such as the mistreatment of women and homosexuals, and slavery. They also state that multiculturalism allows a degree of religious freedom that exceeds what is needed for personal religious freedom and is conducive to the creation of organizations aimed at undermining secular values. According to poll, high people had an unfavourable view of Islam, higher than for any other religion.
The developed world is a dying world based on its fertility rates meaning its standards cannot fulfill a fundemental need for a self sustaining society so how could the secular society be a proper reference to judge the muslim society? Also if you were even listening to the video's content you should have realised that Islam does not imply spreading it by any means.

THANK YOU SO MUCH! I was trying to understand Hungarian history and realized that I couldn’t understand it without understanding the Ottoman Empire. Then I realized I couldn’t understand the Ottoman Empire without understanding the rise of Islam and its relationship to the Byzantine empire. I really wish I had learned all this in school. The only thing I wished you would have gone into more detail on was the rise and fall of Islam in Spain. I went to Spain and fell in love with Islamic art, architecture and astronomy there. Anyway, thank you again for such a rich, clear description. Now I have a framework and timeframe to do more research.
The rise and fall in Spain is a huge history lesson on its own. The Reconquista. It starts as a few Christian groups survive in the far northern mountains; all of lower Spain conquered by... I forgot which Islamic group by I think it became Al-Andulus. In the north, even the Christians were divided, and so for a hundred years nothing much changes. However, the Islamic part of the Iberian Peninsula slowly had their own internal dramas, and eventually a Christian king came to hold much of northern Spain through conquest. When he died he had 3 sons and his kingdom was split in 3, that of Galicia, Leon and Castille. This is why many modern Spanish people call themselves Castillian, and it's why they're proud of Castillian history. The Christian kingdoms had alliances, eventually even with that Portucale fella who became the king of Portugal, and Castille ended up united with a few different kingdoms as Spain (the modern name). The Muslim part of Iberia had become weaker and weaker, and so after about 700 years of war, the entire peninsula was once again under Christian rule. So, in the East, the Byzantines eventually fell and became Turkey, while in the West, the Iberian Muslims eventually fell and became Spain. The religions of Christianity and Islam have had war for many centuries because they border one another. A fun note, the famous Iconoclast movement in the Byzantine empire was started from Muslim influence. These two sister religions are intimately tied in fate and history, although often through war, death and violence.

A similar view was held by the 11th century Arab historian Sa'ed Al-Andalusi. In his book "Category of the nations" he said the following about the Turks: "And their virtue which they skilled in is warfare and its means/tools, they are the best nation when it comes to chivalry, archery and swordsmanship" In another part of the book he says that the Chinese used to refer to the king of the Turks as "The king of the lions".

The American missionary Eli Smith and G. H. O. Dwight, who traveled through turkey at the beginning of the nineteenth century observed that the turkomans were generally called Turks by the Ottomans, who abhorred the name Turk and proffered to be called Musalmans (Muslims). To the Ottomans, “turk” was a name that belonged to the people of Turkestan and the nomadic hordes who roamed the steppes of khurrusan. They considered themselves civilized Ottomans, and could not understand why Europeans called them Turks. As a sophisticated ruling class, the Ottomans looked down upon the Turkish peasantry, calling them esek Turk (Donkey Turk), and kaba turk (stupid turk). @@krateproductions4872 the one I remember right now is the distinction they showed in terms of Shia and Sunni as two parties at that time of Ali R.A. like they are now. The Shia at time referred to was most probably Shiaan-e-Ali mean followers of Ali (R.A.). While on the other hand, there was as per my knowledge mostly banu umayyad who supported Muawiya(R.A.) as some third person started this fire in the name of tribes. There wasn't this Sunni (short of Ahl-e-Sunnat) or Shia sects were there at that time. In fact, even today name Shia and Sunni ( in terms of meaning of these names) are misleading and can be better understood based on fiqah they follow. So in short, as per my knowledge Shia here are Shiaan-e-Ali(followers of Ali in arabic, not a sect) while this was big number of Muslim community following Ali R.A. ALLAH knows best, however what I wanted to clear is that Muslim ummah wasn't yet divided into Shia and Sunni sects at that time as we know the sects now. This happened after sometime. Anyway, researcher couldn't know this without background knowledge because if you simply search on internet then the first links it will show for Shiaan-e-Ali will be Shia sect on google and the other in comparison will be Sunni. So researcher/content creator got mistaken on that. Now that also mean that there can be other small mistakes that we haven't noticed yet but still we should appreciate the effort.

This video provides a fascinating overview of the Islamic world's rich and complex history over a thousand years. It highlights the rise and fall of various dynasties, the spread of Islam, and the cultural and intellectual achievements of the Islamic world. I was particularly interested in the section on the Abbasid Caliphate, which was a golden age of Islamic civilization. The Abbasid capital of Baghdad was a center of learning and culture, and the caliphs patronized scholars and artists from all over the world. The video also does a good job of discussing the challenges that the Islamic world has faced, such as the Mongol invasions and the Crusades. Despite these challenges, the Islamic world has continued to be a major force in world history.

The "gunpowder empires" period is a very interesting aspect of the early modern period that I think many of us tend to ignore. Europe was exploring, East Asia was isolating, but we never really pay attention to what happened in between these two opposites of Eurasia: the parts that stood on the once prosperous silk road. People often just call the Ottomans after the 1500s the "sick man of Europe" and treat the Safavids and Mughals in a similar way but I think that ignores the genuine stability and prosperity they experienced during this time period.
Ottomans were called the "sick man of Europe" much later, in the 19th century. They remained a powerhouse until their losses against the Russians in the Russo-Turkish War of 1768-1774. During the 19th century, amidst internal instability, external pressures, and territorial losses, this term gained prominence, reflecting their weakened state compared to the European powers.

Very well summarized. Great job, please consider making more history content!

Very well explained:)@@Alex-zw7sr

Its a shame that Mongol Empire, being so huge, brought nothing to humanity but destruction. It barely can be called an Empire actually…
Like the British empire .
Don't gather your knowledge through these short videos, 1000 years can not be covered properly in 18 minutes. You better study each empire or i must say study every emperor individually that what he has done actually then you'll know the real truth.
@@saudmushtaq3015 Oh I know the truth. Where is the legacy of Mongol conquerors in the areas they have conquered?
@@PowerBosnia brother if you are asking about the positive impacts or remains in terms of legacy of mongols so i would say that because of mongols trade and commerce increased and i suppose it initiated the globalization of businesses at that time, though mongols were tribe men so they didn't prefer to built architectures. Moreover many mongols were converted to islam and married turks and lived a normal tribe men lives but if you ask of timur he was too a mongol who shared blood line of gehngiz khan from his forefather but cannot be called khan thats why when timur conquered and become an emperor he cannot call himself khan and called himself Amir means rich or the influential person and his descendants you know then ruled indian subcontinent by the name of mughal (turkish called mughal or moghul to mongols thats why they were known by this name) and you know what architecture were built by them and you might not know what type of administration systems were built by them and later adopted by the British.
Cutting everything short from mongols to timur and mughals there is a legacy of ruling, architecture, war strategies, trade, administration systems, and many other things which cannot be seen. Plus British amended mamy history of others by to show only their superiority to world.
One more thing you know world's 13% population is direct descendants of gehngiz khan 😂

A similar view was held by the 11th century Arab historian Sa'ed Al-Andalusi. In his book "Category of the nations" he said the following about the Turks: "And their virtue which they skilled in is warfare and its means/tools, they are the best nation when it comes to chivalry, archery and swordsmanship"
In another part of the book he says that the Chinese used to refer to the king of the Turks as "The king of the lions".

As a sophisticated ruling class, the Ottomans looked down upon the Turkish peasantry, calling them esek Turk (Donkey Turk), and kaba turk (stupid turk). despite of some clear mistakes, it is still a nice effort by someone who wasn't a muslim and who was just making a documentary. Specially the presentation and summarization is beautiful.
what-are-the-mistakes-in-the-video?
What are the mistakes?

Despite these challenges, the Islamic world has continued to be a major force in world history.
hat is the civilizational role that the Arabs and Islam played in that period of history, and their role ended as the roles of the civilizations that preceded them ended, and as the civilizations that came after them are playing now, and then the role will pass to the next civilizations...
This is the year of the universe for the circulation of human civilization...
Mughal empire we're seen as a powerful rich empire than whole Europe entirely up until 18th century as the Europeans were considered small fish at the time
Was part of the motivation behind European exploration, as trade routes, taxation, and travel were fully controlled by these empires
Never forget the attrocities comitted by the ottomans to their own christian population, namely genocide, which is still denied by Turkey to this day
