10 years later, I am still watching this video as a refresher course
And I myself just learned of this video as to I’m about to fiberglass a truck camper shell. Hope it will work just the same
I am Retired US ARMY with 25 years Active service and I was an Instructor for 6 years on the M1A1 Tank.. You Video class tutorial was to the point, short and to the detail! Love it..I have learned something from you Sir!! I am working on a Giant P-51 now and I will Fiberglassing my project, Thank You!

Long lasting safe in house
Really good tutorial Greg. You're a natural instructor.
Great video I'm redoing a 54" fiber glass rc race boat for my first time. You covered every question I had. Thank you.
I've done a heck of a lot of glassing in my time, and I really enjoyed this. Thanks!
Wonderful tutorial. Very helpful. I’m loving fiberglass and I haven’t even begun. Thank you.
Coming to end of 2018 and you are still teaching many with one video. Thank you.
BY FAR THE BEST TUTORIAL AROUND. THANK YOU SIR! NOW I KNOW WHAT I HAVE BEEN DOING WRONG!
I learned a lot fromthis video. Its a great balance of big picture information, small details, and live examples. Thank-you, I'm feeling a lot more confident about my project.
It has been about 150 years since I have applied cloth and resin to a model. This was a good reminder of how it goes. Thanks for taking the time to video. It will help a lot of people.
Your video editor is awesome. This was a very concise and informative demonstration. Simple, in plain english, and didn't deviate from the subject material. I watched the whole thing start to finish.
So incredibly informative! Even you mixing the resin being "rudimentary"... not to me, I'm a beginner, haha! And those periodic checklists are priceless. Thank you so much, I'm now a better man bc of you!
I just wanted to say thank you. Easy to understand, and easy to follow.
Man this guy is a professional ! you can really mess things up if you don't have the skills. This guys got it all worked out.
Awesome tutorial!! thanks! this encouraged me to glass my plane.
Best RC GLASSING video I have ever seen. Well done.
I used this technique to glass over cardboard tubes to make custom speaker pods. Came out phenomenal. Thank you for the lesson!
the best I've seen, this guy should do all the tutorial's on hobby stuff -good teacher . thanks you very much, now what was I working on???
This was the fibre glassing video I was looking for. Excellent tutorial, thank you!
Best tutorial I’ve ever seen! Excellent work sir!
I've always FEARED fiberglass- seems like it always had special techniques that I was unprepared to devise.
But the realization that it's actually _EPOXY_ that holds fiber weave in place, makes sense: I've used 5-minute epoxy to waterproof firewalls, landing wells, all sorts of things. THIS just adds a little more "silkspan" technique. (Remember that stuff?)
Thank you for doing this; it's very helpful!
absolutely a pleasure learning from you,. I am making sculptures and covering them with Fiberglass
Just looking at the front end contours, you did an amazing job shaping the wood. Can't wait to try this with my modeling. Thanks for all the great tips.
Thank You Very Much, This video is one of the more informative and professionally done tutorials I have seen.
This is a great tutorial. Excellent examples, very clear and easy to understand. Thanks for posting!!
One of the most helpful and informative video's I have seen in a long while. Thank You very much for the great info.
You have great passion for fiberglass and it shows in your informative video.
Thank you so much for doing this. This is one of the best tutorials I have seen on doing this!
you sound like the duke, a lot! I've watched your video several times to make sure that I didn't miss anything. Excellent and Thanks
I build duck hunting layout boats and after watching this video, I realize that I have been using too much hardner. This is a great video, I don't know how anyone could dislike it. Thanks.
Yeah, that was a good video. I particularly liked how you went into detail to explain the materials needed. One time use brushes, unbleached fiberglass and how to mix and thin the epoxy and how to lay it out. A very good tutorial. Thank you.
Very good tutorial made me a lot more confident to have a go. Thank you
Great tutorial. I love this fiberglass of yours. So soft. Like silk.
Thanks for making this video. Very well done and helpful for a newcomer!
If you ever seen the projects Greg has done..............you'll learn to LISTEN to every exact word he says. He's is a top pro!
Really good clear video. I feel like I can glass with confidence now.
Very helpful. Thanks for posting this video!

Excellent tutorial, thanks!
The best video I could find on UA-cam! Thank you sir for actually explaining what I need! I’m building a skiff for saltwater and I think I found what I was looking for. Definitely got yourself a new subscriber!
Thanks Greg, this was most helpful.
Thanks Greg, great tutorial!!
Excellent! Follow the advice given and you won’t fail.
Excellent video, extremely useful, thanks for sharing your expertise and experience.
Thank you. Your tutorial is really helpfull and simple to understand.
Excellent video. Greg is like the Bob Ross of the glassing world ! I too, will be using the Ziroli glass with Z-Poxy on my upcoming project. The only difference is that I will not be diluting the expoy with alcohol as I feel the viscosity of the epoxy is already thin enough out of the bottle...this is just preference.
Thanks so much for a fantastic video. I am excited to work with fiberglass now........THANKS TO YOU!!!!! TAKE CARE PAL. PS My name is Mike, 64 yr old USA competition full size glider pilot and RC builder. Once built and flew the Dodgson Designs Saratoga Windsong ! I am in the process to start building again.
And thank you for this post. Quite very useful.
very helpful tutorial! thanks for posting!
Thank you Greg, that was outstanding.
Do u know where he gets the nonstarch fiberglass cloth
Thank you for a great tutorial.
Thanks for explaining this way..
Excellent presentation ! Very clear and concise directions on how to apply etc. Excellent lighting so I can see what's going on, excellent camera work, and probably saved me from making some huge mistakes on finishing my year long plane project. Thank you for a great You Tube tutorial. ( from Carl using my wife's account )
Thank you that was very informative, just by watching once....
Thank you. Great instruction.
I've built fiberglass boats for the offshore power-boating industry and also rotor blades for helicopters. We always wet the area before fabric, then wet out and roll to desired consistency. the only time we wet only on top is when using vac bags
I learned a lot from this video. Thanks.
This still may be the best fiberglass tutorial 5 years later.
That's what I need. Thank you 😊
Nice instructions on the fiberglass job, thank you
Thank you! Was thinking of making some geeky scifi stuff with this!
Thank you very much for your videos.
Thank you for making this video
I was curious about the statement (around 8:43) that too much hardener would prevent set up. I would have thought too much hardener would cause set up to happen too quickly. It did for me using Bondo body putty. I used too much hardener and it set up in the container while I was still stirring it...lol Thanks for taking the time to post your informative video.
I will be building a rocket soon that will need fiberglass reinforcements to the "fin can" section so they can withstand supersonic flights without ripping off, which I've never done before. This is the exact video I needed to have the confidence to get it done. Thanks!
A great video I like the thinning process
Very helpful. Thanks very much.
Great video and good tips on how to do it.
Fabulous instructional video....ahhhh..the things I can build with balsa wood and have it be strong!! Thank you
Awesome Tutorial
The best tutorial❤
Great tutorial!
One technical correction on the denatured alcohol. Alcohol is hygroscopic, meaning it absorbs water, including from the air. Manufacturers have to do special, expensive operations to get all the water out (that product is labeled "anhydrous" and costs!) - then over time it will absorb water from the air, so there's a shelf-life. A bit of searching suggests that hardware-store alcohol has around 7% water content. The cloudiness is from the alcohol ADDING water. That will cut the resin strength by some amount. Still, looks like thinning it does a great job of penetrating and hardening up the balsa (which also contains moisture) so you're getting good results, which is what counts here.
Thanks for a very helpful video.
Excellent! Your tutorial is very professional and I'm now eager to get out and start my big project! Someone suggested you sound like John Wayne but I'm voting you sound like Johnny Cash!
X2 about Johnny Cash
Thank you!!
Wonderful video !!
Thank you. Have not done it in about 30 years and could not remember the specifics.
Helpful video, thanks. FYI I used Bondo fiberglass resin for my project and my Solo cup melted. I had a paper cup nearby so the damage was minor.
great. love the info
Thank you! I want to do this on my e350 class c motorhome but I'm still learning watching videos. =)
good job and demo thanks these video help out greatly, dont need to chase people and try to get help...
Thank you for video.
Thank you!
very helpful, thanks
Very informative for beginners
Oh ok ! thanks for the warning i was ready to mess something up lol.... thanks once again!
Great learning experience, I have used your fiberglass / finishing epoxy techniques for my model boat project. Now I am ready to apply paint. What type/brand of paint do you recommend? my boat is wind powered
Thank you Sir ,you gave me an idea thank you very much Sir.
