Chinchilla tricks 3

These are my 13-year-old chinchillas Ramona and Emma doing the latest "tricks" we've worked on together. This is NOT typical chinchilla behavior, and is not the result of traditional training. These chinchillas and I have developed trust and friendship over many years, and that's why we can play like this. I do offer oxbow chinchilla pellets as treats, but they're never required to do anything for food or anything else. They always have the freedom to choose what they want to do (or not). It is my challenge to come up with "tricks" that are fun for them to figure out and to do, and sometimes they change the trick to how they like it. I learn as much from them as they do from me!
