This was a great tutorial. Thank you for the video!
Just a note from someone who works with expanding foam moulds daily: If you mist the plastic with water instead of using vaseline then you won't have the problem with gaps and bubbles. Expanding foam needs two things to work. . . moisture and air. If it can't get both it won't work correctly. :-)

Dear Maleah, thank you so much for watching and your advice! I did struggle with bubbles a lot and couldn’t understand what was the issue. Thank you, will try using some water 😊💝💝

You can really hammer on this and do all the operations needed to make a hat?

    • @elenashvabmillinery

Yes absolutely. The material is softer than wooden hat blocks so using pins for blocking is much easier. It is a great alternative for hat blocks even though it’s not as solid and lasting as wooden hat blocks.
      Hope that helps,
      Elena

Knowing how to make your own hat block Its a great skill, as wooden hat block are indeed very expensive especially when you jut starting out. I made a lot of hand made hat block at the beginning of my millinery career xx

Is this block squishy or quite strong ?

    • @elenashvabmillinery

It’s very light but quite solid and great for blocking purposes. Obviously not same as wooden hat block, but still serves a great job.
