Episode 15: Making of Ensiferum album One Man Army - Heathen Horde shouts pt2

- Video from September 2014.
This video was originally supposed to be released during the recording session as studio diary. Due circumstances not related to Ensiferum the video was never released. As I have some two dozen cool videos from the session, I decided to upload them on UA-cam with the permission of the band.
This 15th video is about the Heathen Horde bridge shout recording. Once again the energy is awesome and the band immediately gets into the zone. I hope these videos will bring inspiration to musicians all over the world on how choir and shout parts should be delivered. It should be fun to watch also for the non-musicians as most of this footage is what you hear on the One Man Army album.
I hope you like this video. Please feel free to share it and subscribe to our UA-cam channel for more videos.

So cool !!! :) Is there more videos to come ?
Definitely. New video is posted every Tuesday. Check out our Facebook page for short explanation on each video and news about other stuff we do at facebook.com/astiastudio
Thanks ! Sure I will do. You must have been one lucky guy to attend those rehearseals... I'd give everything to be there ! :)
Thanks. I do consider myself very luck to have gotten a chance to work with such great artists by producing, recording, mixing and mastering their music for over 2 decades :) ..and actually this is no rehearsal but the actual album recording as it says on each of these videos.
Pardon my english, I didn't mean it, I perfectly got it ! So.... we are waiting for the next album... soon ? :)
I heard from Jari that when recording groups of singers, you should have them change places every few takes, to avoid phasing. Do you know anything about that? Does it happen only in certain mic setups?
Thanks for the message. We never had that problem as I do my best to have the people move around and as can be seen from the videos, from time to time we intentionally change the tone of the vocalists. I think the phase problem occurs when one person is singing to microphone while trying to creat a bigger choirs, which is something I never personally would do.
Hey, kiitos for the reply! I don't know if you are at allowed to answer that, but... when do you start recording the new album?! :-D
You are welcome. Unfortunately we'll have to wait for the official press release coming soon :)
Astia-studio Thanks again! Fingers crossed! Can't wait to hear what you made this time!
