  • Here's my Nova aka "Plain Jane". Jane is powered by a custom built 565 cubic inches big block Chevy (Dart block, Brodix heads, Mahle pistons, Molnar crank and rods, Bullet roller camshaft, Jesel lifters and steel shaft rockers, Stef's oil pan, Lemon's headers, etc., etc., etc.). The engine is backed by a custom ATI torque converter and a manual valve body ATI TH400. It has a Mark Williams 7075 aluminum driveshaft and a custom Mark Williams 12 bolt (custom large bore case, 35 spline Pro Street Axles, Detroit Locker, etc.). Hope you dig it as much as I do!

    I have almost its twin my mom ordered new at Padgett Chevrolet in Morristown Indiana. Radio delete rubber floor and rear window defrost big block 4 speed. She was the younger sister to 2 hot rodding brothers and wanted to show them up lol. I have the car now still in original condition and drive it when I can.

    Grandma is going to be shocked when she sees what you did to her car. Then again, she will be the first one at church on Sunday.

    Did you have to put traction bars on it ? 1:12

      Hi John...I was struggling with the ride height using the AFCO springs. I had a set of split mono leafs here along with a set of Smith Assassin bars, so....I swapped them out. I think if I would've given the Mopar style springs more effort (like getting them re-arched again), they could have worked fine.

    Not easy being Green! Needs a set of cragers as well.

      Not going to happen. The dog dish hub caps were always part of the plan.

      Agree Sally, Cragars would make that car even stand out better with those black tires. Dog dish personally do nothing for me.

      Personally, Cragars do nothing for me and since this is my car, the dog dish hubcaps are staying.

    Love the color! Do you have a paint code or source for the paint?

    • @lonewolfhotrods
      @lonewolfhotrods  9 місяців тому +1

      Hi. It's the original lacquer paint on the car (although the tops of the fenders, hood and rockers have been blended in with fresh paint): GM Forest Green Metallic. Trim Tag Code: 48/48. Hope that helps. :)

      @@lonewolfhotrodsthank you! I believe that was the OEM color of ny 72 Nova, so I'd like to replicate it. Also curious on the size of the rims and tires? The stance looks great! Possibly lowered a bit?

      Front wheels are 15x5 and the backs are custom 15X8's (5.25 or so inch backspace) with P275 drag radials. Ride height was a pain...L-0-L. Mixed and matched front springs, front coil spring spacers (GM used spacers in many production line applications to juggle ride height), rear Calvert split mono springs, etc. I messed around with the parts and tire diameters until I got it where I wanted it. It took some time. :). @@willfeather6383
