    Watching large groups of grunts run away in fear and scream as you pepper them with neurotoxin payload is so satisfying. The visual effect also makes them a little bit easier to see in dark caves.

      I love neurotoxin cuz it can mark out spitters and cave leeches above. Very good for tagging.

    My favorite is Combat Mobility for the Autocannon. Being able to move much faster with the better RoF scaling with the damage resistance just makes you a tank :D

      Yeah I have to agree, I would probably hate leadstorm (if I had it) because I like jumping around a swarm of bugs while spraying with gunner.

    Hi Ron! I love these videos and how detailed and explanatory they are but was wondering if you could add some background gameplay of the weapon and overclock for it so people can see it in practice? It would be helpful for new players and people looking to try new builds alike I feel. Love the videos though man, take care.

      If you can, jump into one of Ron's DRG streams, he takes build requests so you can find out about any overclocks you're curious about. He also answers EVERY SINGLE QUESTION from chat because he's good like that ;)

      That is a great idea, but I have been moving a lot of my video to different harddives for storage and have been pretty busy with IRL things. I do have videos about most of these overclocks on the channel though.

      @@ReapeeRon people aren’t always trying to go through your entire channel to find footage of the overclock they want. It’s kinda insane you wouldn’t put background footage of the overclock in action especially when you could probably use someone else’s footage and credit them.

      Triple Tech is also a good try with Big Bertha. It's just a little bit more versatile. Plus, it feels good when you see three diff web spitters in different areas and you quick flick all three of them.

      Taking the variable charge is absolutely key to the build. A single charge can still get you the Triple-Tech and it still one shots Web Spitters ( so long as they remain in the electrical field)

    Overtuned feed mechanism is a really good OC for Hurricane, overall I like it and the slightly larger AOE one my favourite, as I find the other ones a bit harder to use while those 2 are good for almost everything

    For the Hurricane, I actually use the Fragmentation Missiles overclock rather than the Overtuned Feeding Mechanism because it's easier to hit enemies without being too accurate and it's easier to judge how many missiles it takes to kill something without firing too many at once.
    I also use Compact Casings for the BRT7 because I don't necessarily count on using the sidearm for massive damage and I find myself needing to quickly shoot down Macteras; especially Tri-Jaws. I don't really care for the Lead Spray because of the loss of accuracy and the ammo penalty from Experimental Rounds doesn't help with the weapon's overall credibility.
    The Coil Gun is a mixed bag for me at the moment because while I like the Triple Tech Chambers for the massive single target damage, I find that the Backfeeding Module gives the weapon a "general purpose" feel to it. The Mole I'd imagine would be much too situational for me to use because you need to have terrain between you and your target often to fully utilize the potential damage output; especially since I pair the coil gun with the Autocannon and shoot from the zipline a lot to survive swarms.

    Hey Ron!! I like this list but it's a tough call for me between Overtuned Feed Mechanism and Fragmentation Missiles for the Hurricane. Both overclocks are nothing but a bonus and can have a lot of utility. And someone else has probably already mentioned this but I couldn't help but notice that when you mentioned Magic Bullets that the information for Bodkin Points came up on screen 🤣 and I really do love Lead Spray, with the spread reducing mod in tier 1 I can shoot Mactera at a pretty good range which is sweet. I can usually either kill them or stun them before they start spitting at me. And I used to use The Mole a lot but went to Triple Tech Chambers, I love triggering the bug to have more damage resistance that lasts pretty much forever 😆 Rock and Stone!

    I usually just find myself only using Bertha and Magic Bullets. Everything else feels like a downgrade. Also Ron doesn't get it with Magic Bullets. It's an AOE + Direct damage + Ricochet damage + Poison damage. That's like elephant round tier damage, but with tons of ammo, fast reload, chain hit, a slow, and a stun. And you barely have to aim it to get get all those benefits.
    Like with poison effect, you can oneshot bodyshot a lootbug.

    hellfire is the best OC simply because it's by far the strongest AoE you can get on a gunner's secondary which is very useful since all gunner's primaries can be built for single target damage

    Personally i perfer compact feed mechanism for minigun for 800 extra rounds
    I usally combine it with t2 dmg, t4 dmg, t5 hot rounds and a volitile bulldog with incendiary grenades
    That or i swap the t2 dmg for even more ammo and t5 to the one that reduces heat on kill for 3800 rounds of sustained dps, kills a little slower but i love the amount of lead it can continuously shoot and when everones running low on ammo im just sitting spraying my load up and down hoxxes

      That one is fun too. I like to run it and the Micro Flechettes on the BRT for the most ammo build. It's not that good but it is fun to play around with.

    Neurotoxin payload for the thunderhead is one of the best overclocks in the game. Paired with the fear mod it just wrecks massive hordes of bugs! AOE splash damage so it’s easy to inflict the status ailment on groups of bugs and fear makes them run away slowed and poisoned so they are harmless and most enemies die before the effect wears off. I’ve recommended neurotoxin payload to newer players looking to complete their 1st EDD and it has helped them a lot

      @@aquapotato.. I hate how six-shooter doesn’t give the chamber 6 rounds and still has the revolvers default 4 -same with elephant rounds (I think) that reduces ammo to 3, I really hope they change it to reflect OC’s. Apparently there’s mods that change it but not on console

    I like to use the Coil Gun with "infinite ammo" with backfeeding OC and ammo up, and 1/4th ammo cost Tier 2 with damage reduction, fear, electricity. And then pair the cc/damage reduction charge with see you in hell, thorns and vampire to turn grunts into food for my hp bar, as well as to spam fear/electro with reckless abandon, all the time. 10/1280 ammo is really cheap for dual aoe dot +80% slow + fear, jump of cliffs, and tank the driller's satchel going into the drop pod. Management really pulled a great gun out of their arsenal.
    edit: works wonders at saving ammo in the back for an all dps lead-lead storm-storm primary load out.

    Minigun: Burning hell because it's a jack of all trades go-to. Leadstorm if you want an elimination build or to lean into the "get some" damage god. The minigun is prided on how easy and adaptable it is; all other OCs feel like just a base kit small upgrade.
    Autocannon: Nerotoxin all the way to capitalize on it being a tap fire splash monster. Big Bertha is okay for balancing the gun out, being ammo efficient, and not relying on the poison bleedouts; although it is a subpar pick to how broken neurotoxin is as a swarmclear (gunner primary's main role usually). Autocannon has the best OCs in the game so using anything already puts you ahead.
    Hurricane: Anything really, the hurricane is the weakest primary with it's OCs being underwhelming. The punchthrough builds of plasma bursters is really odd and not reccomended for consistency, but is really silly/fun. Minelayer is dumb but ridiculously strong with a coordinated team using chokes, funnels, and bunkers. If I had to choose, the cleans are probably where I would gravitate to and just use hurricane as a mindless hold/tap M1 and track bugs gun, similar to the minigun but without inaccuracy and built in splash.
    Bulldog: Easily volitile bullets. Gunner's secondary is usually built for single target as his primaries are great for swarms. Volitile having more damage per shot than elephant rounds without any of the economy, recoil, nor reload downsides (-10 damage is negated by one damage up over +ammo) basically makes bulldog a game kit ppwerhouse with potiental to delete anything. You haven't been converted to the bulldog religion until you mashfired a bulk down in 3 seconds after lighting it on fire. Magic bullets is at odds with the base gun, trying to make it be a swarm clear while giving up so much of it's strength as a single target beast. Six shooter is the macterra bane, and homebrew is great for another non-busted version of base kit bulldog destroying individual threats.
    Burst pistol: Leadstorm all the way, use this on elimination missions where dreadnaughts are immune to igniting for bulldog's volitile bullets. It's a CQC mash DPS gun. I have heard of ammo economy builds for the burst pistol but gunner's primaries are already fully strapped for endurance, you can afford to run through secondary ammo to insta-kill oppressors and burst tanky bugs.
    Coilgun: Hellfire. The gun is already wonky, hellfire reigns it back into being a robot killing gun and moderately okay at igniting a bunch of things for free. It isn't as strong as the other OCs for single target, which is the main role of gunner secondary, but the coilgun is slow that is isn't a burster anyways. I only take it if I want to change it up and run a single target DPS primary for elimination but want to keep a pocket swarm clear. Triple tech chamber gets an honourable mention because it can make the coilgun into an smaller, three shot line, electric, mini-hellfire.
    Note: I am definitely one of those hellfire + volatile bullets people. It's insanely powerful, easy to use, and doesn't suffer in any situation (besides elimination dreads not being ignoted, but the base kit guns are still good for dread killing anyways).

    While neurotoxin is probably the strongest in higher haz for most missions, flame minigun is the most fun to play with for me especially when paired with volatile bullets which lets you 4-5 shot bulks by shooting their sacks while they're burning.

    I love missile Salvo OC for the hurricane I know it'd not the best OC but for mission where you are on point defense or elimination missions it feels good and fun. Nothing better then running behind a Pretorian and just shooting it with 9 missles in the butt and killing it outright.

    Hey Ron! Im a bit new to gunner (he is my last dwarf to promote, im around lvl 15 on him rn) and got tje elephant rounds OC for the bulldog. How good is it though? Because in this video you didnt even mention it while talking about the revolvers best

      It's very good at making Praetorians disappear, but is overkill on anything smaller than a guard. That makes it pair exceptionally well with any of the magic bullets builds, and still very good with most anything, but I wouldn't take it with the Lead Storm OC on the minigun or Big Bertha on the autocannon.

      The downside of elephant rounds is that it makes the bulldog not worth using on grunts, so as long as you have a good amount of ammo for your primary then its pretty good for bursting down bigger targets

      If you have fear on your Autocannon, Elephant Rounds with the weakpoint damage mod is amazing for dealing with Praetorians. They show you their butt, you shoot it >:)

    Minigun: Lead Storm. I always felt that Minigun kills way to slow for what should be a depleted uranium killing machine. This OC makes it feel a lot more like what Gunner himself advertises. Being unable to move can be mitigated by "hopping" around the bugs or cheesing them with a zipline.
    Thundercannon: Splinter Shells. This slot would belong to Neurotox Payload. Y'know. IF I HAD IT. BUT NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO APPARENTLY NEUROTOXIN PAYLOAD NEEDS TO WAIT UNTIL I'VE COLLECTED EVERY SINGLE CLEAN OVERCLOCK FOR THE EPC OR STUBBY.
    Hurricane Launcher: Frag Shells. I'm not joking on this one. For some reason this OC just feels really nice on it. Even with other big boy OCs like Jet Fuel Steel Beams or Salvo Module, I find myself missing Frag shells. I can't for the life of me tell why since all it is is more AOE damage, but I can't quit it. It's my "default" OC if I'm not running some other, more specialized OC.
    Bulldog: This is where I'd put my favorite Bulldog OC. IF I HAD ONE. COME ON NOW GHOST SHIP I AM NOT USING THE EPC NO MATTER HOW MUCH YOU INSIST. STOP GIVING ME OCs FOR THE ONE-BUILD WONDER AND GIVE UP THE GOODS
    BRT: Experimental rounds. Makes it good for shredding fatter bugs down, and the loss of ammo's not a big issue considering I prefer using my Frag Launcher to kill anything smaller than a Warden. Maybe once I get lead spray, this might get replaced.
    Coilgun: Triple Tech. Fire your triple tech in a V-shape and watch a big swarm of bugs run like they all suddenly gained 50 pounds. Makes em easy to mulch with AOE like Frag rockets or Autocannon rounds. I hear good things about Hellfire too. Can't wait to get that OC.

    for the minigun i would choose lead storm cuz tbh +1 damage just bot really feel good enough to call it "best" + lead storm adds a TON of damage with no downside to ammo (right?) for auto cannon, i do agree with u (tho i hate the oc lol i just big bertha) for rocket launcher idk i dont really use it but i would many say plasma burst... for the revolver yeah i would also choose magic bulets its really good, for the burst i would also choose lead spray, (i also hate this oc cuz i cant stand the spread XD) for the coil idk i feel like triple hellfire and mole are kina as good
    but if we are disregarding balance... than burning hell with volatile is just too cracked... that set up is one if the only things that are just too good lmao tbh kina should be nerfed, its really op i dont really thing its opinion based that combo is just the best its way too op
    also for magic bulets u showd bodkin points not magic bulets XD

    Finally started playing. Am doing solo to learn the game. Is it better to wait and not spend early perk points to save them for later? Thank you Ron for highlighting the fun of this game.

      No problem Barot. For Perks I would say buy some of them and try them out. I would suggest some simple ones like Thorns or Sweet Tooth and if you are playing solo then you don't need team based perks.

    Salvo module would have to be my personal top pick for the Hurricane, it doesn't really come with any downside as you can still guide rockets if you want to. I love to pair it up with lead spray on the burst pistol so I have both really strong crowd and single target damage, making for a very well rounded loadout.

    I prefer elephant rounds for my revolver, such a good complement for the autocannon to make it a sniper, particularly great at one shorting enemies if you bit their weak spots such as the Grabber.

      Elephant rounds is hilarious but it outclassed by volatile bullets usually.
      Elephant has the niche of clapping grabbers, tri-jaws, and hitting oppressors really hard.
      Volatile outclasses it because if you really want to hit like a truck you trigger a burn and do far more damage per shot. Even without burning hell minigun or naplam hurricane you can still use incendiary grenades in a pinch. Having another ndwarf like a driller flamethrower something is really commo as well, since fire damage is the most common status.
      Elaphant rounds feels like a worse version in every way besides to quickswap to it for one shot and go immidately back to primary spam firing.
      The ridiculious downsides hurt a lot. The ammo hit is punishing when volatile doesn't give any ammo penalty and the recoil+spread nerf is completely unnecessary in my opinion.
      Elephant rounds needs a very specific build order, while volatile just needs one damage up to get back to default 60; one shotting macterra, slashers, body shotting webspitters, and being a regular bulldog with a huge damage stipulation tagged on.

      This has honestly made me do some research into the burning hell and have to agree it’s overall an improvement in power without any of the downsides. Plus it’s very easy to accommodate, though it does restrict builds a little bit in what you need but again an overall improvement.
      Though because my main primary is the autocannon which doesn’t have a way to ignite enemies, Volatile bullets sadly doesn’t help me. I do also love the consistently of Elephant rounds and knowing what I can and can’t snipe, and not having any other prerequisite other than hitting weak spots for the damage.
      I’d love to be able to consistently one shot things like acid spuitters with a body shot rather than a headshot but I personally don’t mind. Elephant rounds also allow for the quick extermination of important threats such as Menances, Wardens, trijaws. Which either require one or two shots (with the second easily finished off with your main or team mates and the menace just about 2 shorted when hit weak points)
      It also decimates heavier targets like Praetorians and Oppressors in seconds, as a point blank unload of 3 rounds followed by a power strike kills them even on higher hazard levels, lwhich gives its ridiculous burst potential, and can now through dreadnaught health during their vulnerable phases.
      So again Volatile bullets is superior, but for its ability to compensate for my autocannon’s accuracy and as a quick fire delete button on distant threats, it’s too good to pass up imo, at least for my build.

    I think you're sleeping on Minelayer for Hurricane. That overclock is crazy good even in Haz 5.

      It is a sleeper pick, but it needs to be played around really hard. Engineer needs to be on point with his repellent platforms and driller needs to be terraforming funnels/bunkers.
      It's highs are coupled with really lows. A perfect balance of a strong situational gun.

      @@SkyNinja759 I find it to be the best oc to have when you're on the run, shoot mines right at your feet and just watch the hit markers go off. Extremely ammo efficient too. Also if the enemy is right at your face you can still kill it with direct hits, just no guidance.

    4:44 magic bullet's will only bounce off an enemy if it hits a weak point. The only reason I stopped arguing about chain hit since for some reason magic bullet's do the same thing only better

      I love NT, because it fits gunner's loadout perfect. The only bad thing about NT is the damage output on big targets, but i only think thats a problem on Elimination missions(because of secondary ammo). All your secondary options have great damage output so use that for big targets.
