I like the civilization reviews. I do wish you would show gameplay with that unit or civ. It would make it more interesting to watch! The static image is a bit boring.
Omar L Thank you for the feedback - I will look into this!
I can't believe I haven't noticed this until now! Hand Mortars are very weird units: two men hold the mortar, but it costs just 1 pop. What??
Beaumont The Frenchie I know right? Same with Steppe Riders and Cossacks. Cavalry and a human cost one pop?! Hahaha
hmmm i think the hand mortarsare actually slaves, while steppe riders and cossacks "lived off the land", so the need for house isnt that huge..
They live in the same house XD
hmm half ration
They have whole villages for the pop, instead of puny houses :P That'd explain it :D
Some things to note : you can get 119 villagers if you go to age v with the pagoda and 99 villagers, you can construct 7 additional block houses if you can get your hands on CDB, settler wagons or settlers (not villagers) and old hans reforms is better to send when yout entire army is mostly only comprised of that unit so you don't have to pay for those units upgrade
And the porcelain tower is better to make in later ages as it is only as good as the age you construct it in. Also the disciple does not count as population so your pop theoretically is over 220. Also the meteor hammer has range so it can actually attack artillery past their meat shields. And the German bonus is not 30% it's just 30 resources if it was 30% Chinese troops would be way too small. The Chinese also have the strongest naval vessel the fuuchan which is a galleon frigate hybrid
Dude, I loooove your vids. Everytime i see you’ve uploaded something, no matter what, I get super hyped :D keep going, you are amazing :). Greetings from Germany! :)
Its_Feyerabend! Thank you!! Greetings from the USA! :)
@@SamuraiRevolution When fully upgraded and add with 4 home cities cards related to artillery (siege hit points, Siege attack and Siege combats plus Western reform cards) Chinese Flying Crow ha2 452 damage while have no bonus against infantries and penalty 0.5 vs cavalry but that artillery has 5 area damage and 2 bonus against ship and building. Hand mortar for the same treatment has 10 base damage when fully upgrade+cards. Keshik is sucks while in Histroy they are menace to all the enemies of Mongols, their range historically far longer than what being portrayed in game. Keshik really menace when having Western reform, Manchu combats plus Mongolian Scourge cards that adding 1 bonus for Keshik so this range cavalry has 4x bonus vs hand cavalry. It's their range that make them weak as for their attack rate equal to other cavalry archers but they only cost 1 pop slots. Last but not the least the Forbidden armies that consist of Iron Flail and Meteor Hammer, Both benefiit from DOuble Face Armor and Western Reform Cards. Iron Flail has another 0.5x bonus addition against light infantry with that card so Iron Flail inflict the damage by 2x against light infantries, and Meteor Hammer have benefit of more hit points and damage from Manchu Combats card. Totally the Meteror Hammer attack damage will reach 58 when fully upgraded and beefed up with Home City Cards
If you're playing China, one word: FLAMETHROWER.
thnx for creating this channel not many ppl record this game w/ commentary
Rohan Pillay You're welcome:) Thanks for the support!
Love the civ reviews bro, nice video and keep updating this amazing content. Best Age UA-camr! Engage!!! 😂
paul alvidrez Haha thank you!!!
what great about hand mortar is, if you hit Units (especially infantries) they got extremely slower, and then their splash damage do get them damage quite well, I surprised many times because of that. hand mortars are essencial for china player.
and for the artillery, I think china is the strongest artillery support country among asian countries as they can have both flying crow and the cannon from Factory (when you choose russia for ally)
You Juhwan Great points!
I don't know, in nearly any match against Chinese, especially hand mortars, I feel relaxed - always feel like these pop points could've been invested more effective, feels underwhelming.
Thanks for the great videos! One thing: Steppe is pronounced “step,” not “steppie.”
Thank you!!
@@SamuraiRevolution and Uhlan is pronounced "Oon-lon" not "Uh-lon." :)
It's great that you are still making reviews 8)
Cesarski You bet!
I absolutely love just going ff and spamming Territorial armies. There are so many OP age 2 shipments that I usually don’t have to trade any armies age 2. I can just raid with that 7 steppe rider shipment and defend with the chu ko nu, pikes, and IMPERIAL REDCOATS from the consulate in age 2. Awesome underrated civ. Taking dubs every time with massive armies and barely any economy required
I love the disciples, especially after research allows you to recruit them by killing units with them. Great way to build up an army. The wonders are all great-one helps disciplines, one gives free units, one gives free healing (always a good thing), one gives free food. And great artillery.
My problem is the banner army system. I always get excess light infantry I don't need, and it's hard to amass enough cavalry.
Wow, such a brilliant and insightful review!! China has such wonderful little perks throughout the game and they have such a unique style of play. I’ve always loved using them and I’m happy to see them get recognition here! :)
You can get max. 9 villagers per villagercard and with The Wonder where you can get 20 vills at age V so that you can get a total of 119 vills.
You can get a powerful arty with The wonder too :) and combine them with The heavy canons and you have a powerful arty for no reccources.
I think you didnt see China so much because they are quite difficult to play with... For example you see way more japanese because you cant do much wrong with The nation Same is for the aztecs they are difficult too maybe the hardest one in aoe III and aoe II.
P.S. i would love to Play with you one round :D
Yea the flying crows are powerfull, but their training time and their hitpoints are weak
I Like The flying crows
The Keshik (the anti cav mounted archer) has lower attack but attacks twice as fast as dragoons seems like you have to micro them to make them effective. You can send them with the Mongolian army at the castle for 3 mortars and 3 Keshiks so i imagen you will always have a few
Ray Nightshade Yeah that's a good call. They just have a hard time against French cav and other strong cavalry.
SamuraiRevolution keshiks are good anti cav good micro good rate of fire when ı play against french ı can kill hussars and gendarmes but ı can kill range resist cav like uhlans naginata or any asian cav . Can u suggest civ for china teammate
There are train time cards for ALL banner armies, regardless of type. Kinda nice. And then that Confucious gift card is stupid good.
At 11:10 Germany doesnot reduce cost by 30%, it only reduces cost by 30-resources.
what do you mean only 1 train time? china has 2 train time cards that work for all units out of war academy? wth
Best thing about the wonders:
China can get free Flying Crow artillery. Though slow, they're like a nerfed heavy artillery, but it's better than nothing.
And the other one is free banner units.
Even better, you can get them in age 2
I like to play China as a civilization. At the same time I also think China can be boring to play sometimes because you could only mass infantry (i.e. both range and melee) which makes up their bulk of their army. Their play-style has little to no variety unless the enemy brings in skirmishers or coyote runners then bringing in cavalry would make sense.
I really do feel like China is underrated. I play with them 90% of the time xD. And btw the Disciples are 80 food not 50 :). Good video overall!
Didn't mention flamethrowers
He did
Hey man, where do you get your build orders? Please help, your videos have made me good enough to be competitive but I need a solid list of what to do to help bring it home
Join the discord! (link in description of newer videos) we have a lot of build orders there!
SamuraiRevolution This is amazing, thank you so much friend! Can’t wait to go check it out :)
When it comes to China's council civs I stick with the Russians to build my eco (I like to boom) and then switch over to Germany when building up my armies.
I saw iron flail then the underrated and was like yes finally people are realising
Havent watched it, i'll do it when i go home. I dont need to watch to say you rock!
Fırat Masyan Thanks!!
good one. how about frensh or british next?
-Pros
Early Rush Boxer Rebellion
Great Late Game with Russian Factory
Solid Villages
-Cons
Low Health Armies
Mid Game Few Options
You are missing Huge weakness of China in late game: Anti cav. Just play Tr30, tr40 vs French and u see what I mean
BTA Channel I said that man...
all the more reason German is soooo good for them :D (altho be BFF with russia first to get that sweet fort n factory)
Aren't the Chinese consulate civs British, Russian, French, and German?
Hey bro you might want to revisit this. I hear they got a new virus patch in 2020 that has some really bad population modifiers.
Do one of those for Japan pls
Pedro Correia I will eventually!
desn't their pikemen have a x5 against cav lol i'll double check
