There are actually two airports in London, Heathrow in the London borough of Hillingdon and London city in London borough of tower hamlets, all UK European destinations. Thameslink also serves Gatwick which I think is 24 hours. As a Londoner I’ve never been on the London eye and try and avoid the west end as much as possible! There are some great places to visit outside of the central areas like Kennington, Clapham, Greenwich, Primrose Hill, Hampstead, Richmond, Hampton Court to name a few. Even Canary Wharf where I work is interesting although to me a bit sterile! A lot of the tube lines now have WiFi although far too noisy to have a conversation! As well as the underground (which doesn’t really cover much of south London) and national rail, there’s also London overground (soon with named lines like lioness, windrush, suffragette etc.), DLR (Docklands Light Railway) and Elizabeth line. Must admit I’ve never felt unsafe walking around at night, just need to be aware what’s around you. Like your videos Ben 😊

I appreciate your tips, but I would love for you to be my tour guide! (I promise not to act like an American) Maybe some of your subscribers can get together and plan a visit! Love all your videos!

For info, London City Airport, is for short range flights, 1 to 2 hours only, they are also small aircraft.
As a Londoner, I would consider Heathrow as London, I understand your point though.
Gatwick is a long way from London, the others are just taking the Mick.
Also England is not 24 hour so arriving late at night can be a problem.

I enjoy your videos. I just watched your videos on the Prima. We will be doing the same cruse in September this year. We will be flying into Heathrow and will be staying at a hotel by the Tower Bridge. What would be the best way to get to that part of the town from Heathrow? I thought they had an underground by Heathrow. Thanks for any information you can offer!

Thank you 😊 you can take the London Underground from Heathrow Airport to London Bridge, it takes around an hour. Beware that the Southampton cruise port is 80 miles away from London, you can take a train there which takes 90 minutes. Good luck! Enjoy your cruise 😊

Heathrow is in London, mate. It's in the London Borough of Hillingdon. It might not be in Central London, but it is in one of the 32 London boroughs. 😉 Plus, as Gatwick is a 24 hour airport, there are at least trains running to Victoria all night.

Most airports are not in the “city”. YVR ( Vancouver Canada) is actually in Richmond which is also about 30 mins on public transit

Re the Underground, using Credit/Debit Cards, they need to be Tap to pay, not all US ones are. Also need to know if you are going to be charged a transaction fee, also each individual needs their own card, if so it is probably better to buy an Oyster Card(s) (travel ticket for London(Tube/Trams/Buses and 'Overground' (a specific type of Mainline Train)).

You need to tap in AND out on the yellow card readers. Or you will be charged a full fare. Only need to tap in - not out - on buses. Yes, the Oyster Card is a better option to contactless.

The airport tips! That's like here in Michigan. The Detroit airport? It's...not in Detroit. It's in Romulus, about 20+ minutes from downtown Detroit. 🤦🏻‍♀️

Not sure if you will answer me but when you said we should buy our tickets online. What do you think about buying a city pass?

Why wouldn’t I answer you, Angie? 😁 hmm check what the city pass gives you access to and if you wanna do them all or most of them then it’s worth it!

All these vlogs say "in London use your debit or contactless bank card but Ben I do wish these vloggers would WARN if your bank is overseas it is likely to charge and exchange charge and an administration fee!!!.
I'm coming to London in July from Tenerife and I luckily still have a UK bank account but I intend to use an Oyster card on tube, uberboats buses and Lindon Overground and DLR that.i bought 5 years ago

Edward, it’s got nothing to do with vlogs 😂 people should be adults and do their own research.

I think it goes without saying that if you use a debit card to pay for something in a foreign currency, your bank is likely to charge you a currency conversion fee unless you've got an arrangement with your bank that you don't pay such fees. But at least TfL only charges you once per day after applying the daily cap, and not after each individual journey.

Ben. PLEASE throw that 13A adaptor AWAY now. It is NOT safe. At 2:06 you can see there is white plastic on ALL THREE pins. That is illegal for use in the UK - I would guess this came from China. The Earth pin should be ALL metal. I am a retired PAT inspector and this is one of our checks.

Hey, there, Ben ! I heard about 46 % of Londoners are blacks, Indians, Jews and so on. When I lived in New York I was mugged a few times by the "brothers". Do you have such problem in London ? Naturally areas-wise, London is about twice New York's size and one has more places to run and hide ! You did a great job ! I learned a lot from you !
