I haven't read Christian Manifesto, but I have read and watched many hours of How Should We Then Live by Schaeffer. I appreciated so much of it. (I was in my teens when I watched it and late teens/early 20's when I read it). Really made me dig and figure out what I believe, why, and gave me a foundation to build from.
I don't know how I would receive it now after living 3 decades more of life, but I have a fondness for it in my memory.
I have read a couple books by Francis Schaefer and enjoyed them. Happy birthday!

I have recently unhauled my Ellis peters series 😅….i enjoyed the one I read well enough, I just don’t think it’ll be a series I reach for, but maybe if you end up loving the series, I might try to get back into it 😉

So many good books! I listened to the Sam Alberry one on Hoopla and remember appreciating it. I haven’t read any Francis Sheaffer but I am currently reading a book by his wife Edith.

We absolutely love P.G.Wodehouse! The Code of the Woosters narrated by Jonathan Cecil is hilarious. 😁 I am currently reading The Count of Monte Cristo. My copy is 1243 pages. Much longer than any of the Stormlight Archive books. Also very slow moving but so good.

I love th Jeeves stories by P.G. Wodehouse, they are very funny! I also like them narrated by B.J. Harrison from The Classic Tales Podcast.
I just preordered a book called "The Night Guest" by Hildur Knutsdottir its about a woman that discovers that she has been sleepwalking and tries to figure out where she goes and what she does. I think its that authors first book to be teanslated into english.
I have to recommend 'The Lost Memoirs of Jane Austen' by Syrie James. I read this one a couple months ago - and want to read everything she's written. I don't have the Bronte one, yet! but if it's similar to Austen - Syrie has done her research ( Author's note in the book: alot of known facts are in this one ). I also have, but haven't read yet 'The Missing Manuscript of Jane Austen' and 'Jane Austen's First Love' by this author. I recently purchased one she wrote based on Dracula as well! Thinking you'd like that one too! again ... Happy Birthday - I know it was some time ago - but all wishes are wonderful!! 😊📚💕 look forward to your thrifting trips in your new area too!
The Count of Monte Cristo is my favorite classic. I recommend that you try the Robin Buss, translation.

One of my all time favorite books is The Heaven Tree Trilogy by Edith Pargeter (aka Ellis Peters). It is medieval historical fiction and so beautifuly and richly written. I also own her series The Brothers of Gwynedd Quartet.
I read The Secret Diaries of Charlotte Brontë years ago and really enjoyed it.

A lot of these books sound really good! I'm probably most curious about The Heir and the Spare after hearing about how much you enjoyed Inge.
Regarding the Charlotte Bronte book, there's an author's note at the beginning, I believe, where she talks about her idea behind the book. The diaries themselves are fictional, but the story is based on Charlotte's actual life.
It sounds like I need to prioritize getting to Heart of Red, Blood of Blue. It sounds really good!
