Her Darkest Secret was so good.
I liked the Secret Book and Scone Society. There were some great things about it. I didn't love it, but I suspect I'd love the series as a whole.
I started with Rook, so I really liked that one.
Also... thanks for the shout out in your newsletter. I think I need to visit Canada and meet my favorite booktuber...
Ha, yes, come visit!
I love Mrs. Pollifax, so I will have to try her books outside of the series. The Wall sounds super interesting!
Hope you put The Tightrope Walker at the top of your pile and that you enjoy it. It is one of my favorite cozy mysteries and never hear anyone talk about it. Ms Gilman also wrote The Clairvoyant Countess which is fun too!
Oooh yay, good to know!
oh, I just finished Her Darkest Secret and loved it! The 2 other books in the series are just as good.
Yay, I'm so glad to hear that!
I bought Prophet from Krista's Pango books
I stayed up until 2:30 a.m. to finish The Oath!!
Worth it!
Steelstriker is much more 'edge of your seat' and fast paced than the first book.
That Dorothy Gilman cover is amazing and I would buy it at a book sale without even looking at the back. Actively putting it on my TBR now.
I have just about finished the first Mrs. Pollifax book thanks to your recommendation. Thank you for always getting me out of my reading comfort zone. This year has been a year of finding literary treasures. Your recommendations have always been spot on. From one homeschooling Momma to the next, thank you!
Yay, I'm so glad you've enjoyed Mrs. Pollifax!
I read Steelstriker and really enjoyed it! I think I actually liked it more than book 1. I gave it 4/5 stars on Goodreads.
This Present Darkness by Frank Peretti is my 5 star fav read of 2024. I’m currently reading Piercing the Darkness and I’m noticing his books don’t start out great like maybe the first chapter or so but once you break through they are amazing. ❤
Love your sweatshirt!
Hi Chantel
I don’t read ARCS - I only read one book from start to finish and then I pick another book to read.
All of these books sounds good. I love Mrs Jeffries - the Series. The books are so good.
I hope that you can get to all of these books. I do not read Seasonal Books.
Take Care & Happy Readjng

I didn’t go on after Skyhunter because of the way it ended - it was going in a direction that was not what I wanted to read about.😅
Oh, I don't remember the ending of Skyhunter AT ALL (first sign I probably shouldn't continue it) so I don't remember any red flags but I trust you so off the TBR it goes, thanks Deea!
You had me at "old order Mennonite community." I will be going to check that book out shortly. The Wall also sounds really interesting. My reading, as usual, is all over the place this month, and I doubt the rest of fall will be any better, but I'm hoping to read some more classics and mysteries this season.
I'm definitely excited about listening to Mrs Pollifax on Audible. I am all about the cozy this fall. I'm also feeling like adding a classic or two to my TBR because I have been mood reading and I thinks its time for a book to sink my teeth into.
I read The Prophet many years ago and it has stuck with me every since. Very impactful book. Someone else recently mentioned House of Silk and it sounds so interesting - definitely creeping higher up my TBR!
I'll be reading classics, fantasy, the 3rd Dune and Russian plus some Sherlock and Poe. I started Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell. LOVING it!! Have you read it yet? It definitely feels Victorian adjacent.
I read 200-300 pages a year or two ago and need to finish Jonathan Strange, how did I forget it on my TBR?!?!?!

I plan on reading lots of cozy mysteries: Mrs. Pollifax, Scottish Bakehouse Mysteries, and a Magical Bookshop Mystery. I also have a couple of Terri Blackstock books on my cart may try to read.
That sounds like a wonderful autumn TBR, Ashlea!
I have Cape Refuge on my shelf that I have not read yet.
So many interesting sounding books, Chantel! 😳🥰♥️I’m in a weird reading mood currently, hard to please. 😂🤷🏻♀️🤔
Aww, those seasons definitely happen. Hopefully lots of great books coming up!
I'm also a seasonal reader❤
I’ve been on the fence about reading Frank Peretti’s “The Oath,” but since you mentioned you liked it, I think I’m going to give it a try.
I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!
Frank Peretti does scream Fall! 🍂🍁 And I’m so thankful to you for that. I read The Oath because you recommended it. It’s still a favorite memory. I think I’ll try Monster, too. 😊
That's so great, glad you enjoyed The Oath!
Monster was excellent. It was controversial at the time but not for good reason.( With believers I knew)
Oh interesting, I really don't remember much!
I just finished The Heir and the Spare by Kate Stradling on kindle unlimited and it was amazing!! Such a good fantasy recommendation from you! Thanks!!
I also like Stradling's Legendary Inge, Soot and Slipper, Deathmark, and Kingdom of Ruses series.
Yay, I'm so glad you liked it!
I loved Monster!
I can't wait to re-read it!
❤📚❤️ Ahhh, more books to add to my list.😉
I've just started Marcelo in the Real World by Francisco X. Stork. It's about a teen boy who hears music all the time that nobody else can hear. His father doesn't believe in the music or his sons differences.
I'll be reading The Inheritance Games Trilogy (all three books) next.
Really enjoyed the Inheritance Games! Still need to read The Brothers Hawthorne.
@@amybunner1158 Thanks, that's great to hear! I'm really excited to get started. My husband bought it for me in April as a birthday gift. So, it's time. 😁
Oh that music one sounds really interesting!
