      Glad you like them! I wasn't sure if this was the right thing to do. But there were a lot of comments on other videos asking me about the Mac. So I started this series. I hope it helps a few folks. Thanks so much for watching!

    I’m looking for a computer basics video for seniors that is mac focused. Everything very basic is demonstrated in windows. I don’t want to create confusion by sending a video that doesn’t reflect the environment my friend is operating in. By basic I mean understanding the difference between the ios, the browser, finder, right and left click, file vs app-really basic, basic, basic about computers in general but within a mac environment. Do you know some resources for that? The friend I’m working with (long distance) has taken the laptop and iphone classes at the Apple store, but she has gaps about the basics (the things apple’s employees assume you know) when I talk to her and try to help long distance.

    The notes app is very powerful and a little easier to use on the Mac. That said, when able, I use a keyboard with my iPad and it’s pretty easy there…

      So I've been using a keyboard with my iPad a lot lately and you're absolutely right. In fact, I'm going to make a video on pairing a keyboard to the iPad. Thanks so much for watching!

    In order to use your iPhone to scan into the Notes app in Mac OS, is there some pairing or other necessary process to get this to work as you show in this video? Thank you!

      I believe you just need to have both devices connected to the same Apple ID and close to each other.

    How do I search your 106 videos? I want to find how to save passwords and recommended companies that do that? My wife no longer has detectable fingerprints so she has to use passwords and has them written down. Your supporter and friend, Roger of Orlando

    What is the difference between apple notes and quick notes? P

      @nthused 10 місяців тому +2

      From the Apple site, it sounds like Quick Notes are notes that are taken from a screen or app that the note is related to - whereas a standard Note may not be associated with anything.

      Its the same overall idea. Quick notes is used when you're using another app like Safari or Facebook or whatever and want to quickly jot down something. It will save to your Notes app in the Quick Notes folder.

    Can you explain what is the difference between apple notes and yahoo notes. When on my iPad under notes it shows yahoo notes and then below that it has notes on my iPad. They both have different notes in them?

    • @nthused
      @nthused 10 місяців тому

      This is where “Notes” are being synced to. If you go to Settings: Notes: Accounts: You can select which of your accounts you’d like to be syncing your Notes to. For mine, though I’ve a Gmail and Outlook account, I’ve turned off the syncing for those accounts so that my notes are only used with iCloud. This is merely to simplify my life as I use an iPhone, Mac and iPad.

      @@nthused if I’m reading your response right, this is what I need to do? I use Yahoo for my email so the notes I have there which are different than the ones on my iCloud notes, I need to copy those notes to my iCloud notes. Then after that is done then go to Settings: Notes: Accounts (I have iCloud and yahoo) select yahoo and turn off the notes button, is that correct?
      So on my iPhone it only shows the notes from yahoo but not the ones on my iPad? I have the settings identical to my iPad.
