I have the t2. It’s a great brush. I do prefer my PAA aero amberlite. I like the spay on it more. I’m loving this brush series. Have a great one Tobin!
Tobin, how do you like the Trafalger's compared to the Perigrino? I have the Perigrino and am really impressed. However, I'm always looking for another knot!
I like the Peregrino better overall, but the Trafalgar offers a different experience. If you have Amazon Prime, you could buy one from there and then return it if you don't like it. 😊
😊😅 Hello! You have to try these fiber Glenn. Andrew at AP sells the knots separately, you could always place one in a artisan handle if you desired. The Simpson makes for a great travel brush. Take care my friend!
Nice video. I have the T2 and M7 but don't use them very much. Doing a search on the Simpson site for Sovereign Fibers brings up some beautiful brushes but, too expensive for me. Plus shipping from England I think is around $20. 👍
Just started head shaving due to illness related hair loss. (Long Covid since 2020) I picked up the Trafalger t3 in Ebony and a leaf razor. Love both products!
Thank you kindly sir. Thank you for the quality content! Someday, I'll have to add a Phoenix brush based on your other videos! Hope you have a good one as well. @@Tobins_throwbacks
I need a 21mm shave brush for lathering out of smaller croap tubs like those from Cella. Debating between a Simpson’s or biting the bullet and getting a Timeless “adjustable” handle and getting the equivalent ‘Simpson’s’ knot. For the price of The Timeless setup, I can pretty much buy two Simpson’s.
@Dimitrius001 personally I'd buy a Simpson unless you have a bunch of other knots to throw in the Timeless. I like having a variety of handles. So I'm not a fan of the Timeless route. But for the money, I'm with you on the price being double that of one Tralfager.
@@Tobins_throwbacks Thanks for enabling me lol. I like the idea of the Timeless, but when I look at brushes, I shop the handle as much as I do the knot, if not moreso. I like aesthetically pleasing handles.
I have 2 trafalgars 24 and 26 inch brush. Great brushes. I have the ebony 26 inch and gave the 24 to my son. what is your all-time favorite brush or knot
I don't have the Trafalger. I do have the DUKE3 with the sovereign Fibers though. Great brush. I also have the CHUBBY3 with the Silvertip. Love Simpsons brushes. Looking to buy the ruby ASCOT soon. (This is my work account. Shhh.)
Yeah a bear with no hair would be scary! I have always liked their handle style, but I'm not sure I'd like the sovereign knot. I just saw Sig use one for a face lather and he did comment about the scrubbiness of this knot, so that does give me pause. I do really like PAA's knots and I just finished a brush for myself with one. I do hope they offer their newer knot in just the knot at some point. I don't know that I would need anything with more backbone than theirs as I'm not looking to exfoliate my skin. I guess though if I'm bowl lathering and painting, the Simpson might be ok. Take care!
They were running a special "code" that allowed free shipping on orders over $15 They may still be using it. Also if you use Tobin's Link in the description you'll save five bucks off your purchase which will be almost the equivalent of free shipping.
Hey Al, Steven is right. I just sent Gareth at the Shave Supply a question about it. And if you use the link in the description you'll get $5 off your purchase. As soon as I hear from Gareth ill let ya know for sure. Take care gentleman!

@@Tobins_throwbacks My man, I'm looking to get my first brush and I'm really stumped. I've been looking through your videos as well as others and I've settled on 4. I'm in Canada so I'll have to be getting it from a local website (Top of the Chain). 1. Simpson Trafalgar T3 - $49.00 2. Omega ROMA Colosseum - $35.00 3. Phoenix Shaving Atomic Rocket - $35.00 4. Phoenix Shaving Astraeus - $32.00 If you had to pick one, (Phoenix bias aside 😉) what do think I should go for? I was originally gonna get the T3 but now I'm doubting it, given the price when comparing to the others. I'd appreciate the suggestion!
@MicrowavedFurby Sweet! So, in my opinion, the Colosseum is the same as the Trafalgar. If you want a brush with scritch and scrub, grab the Colosseum. If you want soft, I'd go with the PAA brushes, Atomic Rocket if you want a big knot, Astraeus if you want a smaller knot. My favorite fiber out of all the ones mentioned here is definitely the Astraeus fiber. The only drawback is the size. I love the Astraeus, and I don't miss the larger knot when I use it. Hope this helps.
@@MicrowavedFurby anytime! Curious to know which one you go with and then if you think of it when it arrives I genuinely like to hear your opinion of it

Take care Manny!
Binge watching the entire series this morning!
Hey Tobin, great intro as always! Your videos are always so positive, informative, and fun to watch. Keep up the good work!
😊 thanks Ashley!
I have always liked the classy look of the longer handled Simpson's brushes.
Me too! Love the Persian Jar!
@@Tobins_throwbacks that's one of the ones I was thinking of, along with The Captain and The Colonel.
