The throw ball struggle is real lol. I think a lot of hunters are disregarding MRS in favor of SRS, but MRS is a great way to climb. Toting 75' of Predator isn't bad at all.
i do tree work and i use a foot ascender and a knee ascender it makes climbing so much easier. u can make one for pretty cheap just need a chest ascender some bungee cord of some type some webbing and snap clip's theres tons of videos on how to make one just look it up. for work i do srt and have a zigzag and a rope wrench and i can climb 60 feet in like a minute its pretty crazy.
Check out JRB Tree Climbing and Saddle Hunting. Its a far superior system and much safer. How you are descending is dangerous, especially without a backup.
I have seen a bunch of JRBs videos and they are fantastic. The descent method isn’t the safest as you mentioned but I don’t feel that it is dangerous for me. As long as I am holding the long end of the rope even if the knot gets loose I can hold myself up. This was really just a demonstration of a simple DRT method. There are better ways for all-around systems that are a little more complex like the JRB universal.
@@KW_W the Long Horn Agile DSRT is my favorite. Its so simple to tie and smooth as butter. But you really should use a backup autoblock or hitch of some kind.
@@KW_W thats the problem though, "i can just hold onto the rope " sorry but if something happened and you slipped quickly, your not hanging onto that rope.
This is way quieter than having to set up sticks and potentially banging metal on metal… and if a paracord loop is installed beforehand, this is almost silent. Not to mention it is a whole lot lighter and packable.

Yes I really do like the simplicity of MRS and how little equipment is required.

Awesome! We’ll have to look into that!
That foot ascender is a good idea.
It is. It makes it pretty quiet and easy.
What saddle pouches are you using?
They come attached to the lockdown saddle.

I can’t believe that that foot ascender is only $17.I might have to try this out.

Rope climbing is fine for arborists, but isn't great for hunting.
2TC is what you want for hunting.

This is doing way too much lol not to mention not quiet at all.
