I ran into a problem where I was at 91 intelligence and sense I absorb magic the spell didn’t make my intelligence go to 0 instead it made it go to 1 which meant the spell couldn’t work. That way you can cast this spell and then cast your original spell to bring your intelligence back down to 0. Playing on Xbox one and noticed if you have any "fortify intelligence" stuff on like Mentors Ring and you're still under 100 int, when you cast the spell it will trick the game into thinking that piece of equipment is part of your base Intel. Meaning that if you had 70 with the ring the game will give you 60 after the spell ends and if you unequip the ring you'd only have 50 (it will be in red like of you got diseased). So make sure you unequip any intellect gear or let any Intel alchemy effects run out *BEFORE* you cast the spell. I accidentally did this and didn't notice what it did to my stats until hours after it happened so just be careful.
So not only is this genius, but it's also a really easy enchantment to make. I even tacked on a fortify willpower effect to increase my spellcasting effectiveness for like 30 seconds after restoring my magicka. Great upload, thanks for sharing.

Figured this out on my own last year. Setting the duration for 2 seconds helps a lot. Additionally having 100 base intelligence helps as well. You can put this spell on weapons, allowing you to gain magic on hit. You can even bypass the wombburn effect of the atronach sign by coin constant effect damage intelligence 1 pt and restore intelligence 2 pts. It tricks wombburn on rest and wait
What the heck?! :D I quitted because I couldn't stomach mods for Morrowind, I wanted to play pure Vanilla, but I had a Mage, and it was realy annoying sleeping and what not... this is insanely good video!
You can always just spam enchantments for spells and potions for magicka. Mages are practically limitless in their abilities, including flying so fast you clip beyond collision and fly through the void.
You could also go with Magicka potions. High level alchemy and intelligence, even without glitches, make pretty powerful restoratives, and is also a great way to make money.
If you're having issues with this because your main attribute is intelligence, it will only bring it down to 10 therefore won't work. To get around this, add drain intelligence 100-100 twice. This will fix it and make spell work
I find it interesting how the Cuirass of the Savior's Hide cancels out this spell; the cast will work without the replenishment. even in taking advantage of the game mechanics, one can still be kept in check by intended game design.
There's another way to restore magica through spell. It takes two spell for it to work - fortify magica and fortify inteligence. Set them to 100 and after each successfull cast you'll get +40 magica. The good part is that the amount of magica will stack and exceed your maximum. So you can have thousands of magica points, effectively making sure that you won't ever run out of it.
Never seen this glitch though I don't go out of the way to find any. You should put it on a ring or something for 100% reliability. Also, I heard something about reverse magnitude enchanting for cheap and strong stuff. Man, I should probs get the game again...
So long as you don't have any effects that buff intelligence over 100 drinking a couple of Sujamma does the same trick all though you'll have to wait 60 seconds for the effect wear off. They're a bit heavy to carry around but you find them pretty commonly in loot crates or from traders and bar tender in town.
Other solution is restoration combo of Fortify Intellegence+Fortify Magicka. Such spell aren't only restoring magicka but it's also give you additional temporal points of magicka beyond your maximum for every cast so it's possible to get something like 2000/150 after some casts or any amount you like.
Heads up, this doesn't work with Bretons at high lvl cause you have a natural 50% magicka resist plus you'll probably have a item that causes more magicka resist so just a head up.

Apparently OpenMW and the Morrowind Code Patch patch this, but at least on the version I'm using, fortify intelligence does this instead. I'm going to guess this alternative doesn't work in the base game.
So I had the same issue because my Breton has an ability bonus thing that amps up his Intelligence naturally so when I use the spell at 100 magnitude and made his Intelligence drop from its original 90 to a 45. So to fix that, I tried making the spell but having it drop his Intelligence by 100 magnitude twice (two separate spell effects) and that made the spell work how it does in the video because his Intelligence is being dropped fully to 0. I discovered this by going into the menu for the split second that the spell effect activates and saw it wasn't fully lowering his Intelligence.
