It’s not wild, it is 100% appropriate and in fact required of dispatchers to attempt to render aid until information is provided indicating signs incompatible with life (such as the bloating and flies he later mentions).
Preservation of life > preservation of evidence. Had the caller initially been more informative then the dispatcher never would have had him approach.

👆 People who victimize murderers are irrational. Her mom was bad Yes. But she's a grown adult that could have left her mom or gotten help, so she's still is at fault for her murder. Not to mention it's not 1935 anymore. There is so many helpful alternatives now in 2024 for victims of abusive parents, that no longer requires one to take the law into their own hands. Do you want to live in a civilized Society thst is fair?, or do you want to live in a society like Afghanistan that stones women to death simply for wanting to leave a marriage?

I hate when people act like their upbringing has nothing to do with their life choices. Y'all are dumb AF.
"Just don't do bad things that you've been around your entire life" is a lot harder than you are making it out to be. Does it excuse the murder? No, but if she had a proper and healthy upbringing her mom's chances of being killed by her own daughter go down exponentially. Whether you want to admit it or not your upbringing and the environments you are raised in are the biggest cause of this sort of thing.
By the way the homicide rate for the US is 6.3/100,000... Very "civilized" indeed.

I worked 911. We ask for callers to give info so officers know what they are coming into. It's very important for the people on scene to see if the person is beyond help. If someone is hanging we ask for them to cut them down and see if CPR is possible. The poor callers are traumatized but 911 operators are there to try to help the person who is down and they need the help of the public to do that till responders arrive. We once had a caller who found a man face down oon the side of the road. The operator taking the call told him to roll the man over. He kept refusing. He finally said he would and found a small female passed out under him. They had both overdosed and needed rescue breaths until help arrived. They both survived.

If the caller had determined that the person was still alive, then the operator would go through questions to know the severity of her condition,

Sad to say, but the victim was an undeniably sh!tty mom to both her kids, especially Chrissy. She certainly was NEVER going to win Mother of the Year! Her daughter never really stood a chance of growing up to be a normal, functioning member of society, and Teresa definitely never had a regular, healthy mother/daughter relationship with Chrissy.
Though Chrissy appears to be a very calculating individual, her mom is almost entirely responsible for how she turned out. All the commenters saying "how could she do that to her own mother?", I’d like to see how fondly they would view their "mother" if they’d been raised in similar appalling circumstances. That Teresa deliberately and maliciously set out to nuke her daughter’s sobriety and chances of regaining custody of her own child is indicative of what an awful woman she was. She didn’t deserve to be murdered, but all the commenters painting her as a loving mother, and Chrissy as some kind of demon child, are deeply in denial about the reality of exactly what kind of person Teresa actually was.

    2004
My father and I were working in Virginia. He drove home to New Bern, N.C., one weekend, and he called me to say he had just called 911 about a car that had wrecked into a ditch, and it was about 10ft down. He said the operator asked him if the driver was still alive. My dad told me that he told her. "I am sorry, ma'am, but I cannot go down there. If they are dead or badly injured, and I am by myself, I can't do it."
He told me that he gave the operator the exact instructions on where the car was at, and then he headed on down the road.
If you do not feel comfortable doing what they asked of you, you DO NOT have to do it.
So do not ever feel obligated to do it.
    Personally, I could not.
My son lost his life less than a mile from our home in a bad car wreck. I knew he was involved because he was not responding to my phone calls or text messages.
I could not have the job the officers and paramedics have.

Okay, so this is one example where asking for a lawyer, most definitely made her look guilty (well, the face and head movements anyway!)

The poor caller.. you can hear the point where he becomes traumatized in his voice.

why the hell is the operator asking him to solve the case??? This is one of the weirdest 911 calls i have ever heard. He exposed him to tremoundes trauma.

I thought for a moment the 911 Dispatcher was going to ask the caller if he could perform an autopsy on the body. smh
