  • In this video, I’m going to show you the way I’ve found to replace my fog lights. I’m talking the entire fog light. You can use this method to replace the bulb. For bulb replacement, you don’t have to drop the front of the bumper. You can just reach underneath after pulling the pushpins. Got to watch the video to see how to do that lol. Hope this helps.

I just changed my front foglight on my 2013 CRV. I just pulled off the part at the front of the bumper around the foglight. I was able to reach in with a stubby screwdriver and remove the 2 screws. I then took the unit out and unplugged it and installed the new one. The whole job took 15 minutes!

Really? How did you remove part ? To access the screws?

      @@billjeffries7407 Hi Billy,
Its been 3 years since I did this job, but the trim around the light separates from the bumper, meaning that the bumper does not have to be removed. I have trim removing tools, which I bought on Amazon, which did the job really well. Ofcoarse I still had to remove the wheel arch splash guard, which I did'nt mention in my last post. My focus was on not having to take the bumper off. Do you still have you CRV? I have mine almost 5 years. My CRV is a 2.2 diesel, I don't think diesels are available in the United states?

I should say, thanks very much going to the effort to make a video, it really helped me out.

Nice video, very helpful. Having many Honda’s myself I went on eBay and purchased a bag of 100 plastic push pins for cheap.
Whenever you take the plastic body parts off you end up demolishing the push pins. New ones go in real nice and you don’t need to be as careful when you’re disassembling everything.

Great video and tips. Thanks so much for sharing everything you went through. Just noticed my bulb was out yesterday. After watching all you had to go through... I'm going to have to pass and go without it for now. I honestly don't have the patience. I might be able to remove everything like you clearly showed but I know nothing would go back together. Hats off to you.

That bolt you referred to as pain... I double that. I ended up cutting it off because it twisted out... replaced with a bolt and some washers! Great job on the explanation. Some trim tools really came in handy vs a screw driver.

Thanks Nikolas. My CR-V was bumped in a parking lot and the plastic fog light mount was broken leaving the light loose and no longer aligned. Your video is spot on to show how to get behind the lower bumper section so I could repair it.

Three things…First off, this video is really useful. I’m not sure I could have replaced the fog light without it. 2) That one push pin that’s attached to the outer fog light housing is really difficult to remove but was relatively easy to put back. 3) Replacing the passenger side fog light is a bit more difficult than what is described here. There is a plastic tank near the fog light that prevents you from unscrewing the outer housing as described here. Instead, I was able to reach down and remove the top screw of the fog light itself. Once done, I could remove the lower screw via the wheel well by tilting the fog light a tad.

Many thanks you's Okie Off-road for doing this video... I just replaced the fog lamp drivers side on 2016 CR-V with a OEM part that cost much less than Honda quoted £250 excluding fitting.. Taking mudguard open and bumper down was not as frustrating as putting it back together... I did have a rusty 10mm bolt further out than the bumper which will have to be done when my Father takes it next in for service and replace couple of clips.
I found putting the two plastic clips in (that clip downwards, spaced 3 inches from each other on body panel above bumper that curves round to wheel arch) frustrating I placed them both in top holes but pushing them through on to the bumper was very awkward, I persevered 30 or more minutes (I do have dequer vain in one of my han'ds) so best to.get Honda finish it fully.. I did test fog lamp b4 I replaced everything.. Was a great thanks again🙏👍💪🤙

I replaced the passenger side fog light assembly just now with a genuine OEM part from hondapartsnow.com and your video really helped me a lot to identify what push pins to remove and pinpoint tabs to pry loose. You were right about that push pin attached to the fog light housing, it didn't budge at all so I have to do it the hard way - I used a stubby Phillips screw driver to remove the two screws that hold the assembly in place (not much space to work on so I got a few scratches on my forearms). I don't know much about automotive but thanks to you Nik, I made it just fine, much to my satisfaction and saved myself from absurd fees of car dealership doing the job.

No sir .. if you have a big hand like mine it won't fit in there to twist the bulb to replace it .. my wife has a CRV and I swear if I had one I would have gotten rid of it asap .. what a piece of carp design.. thanks God I have always had a truck.. takes me 5 minutes to replace any bulb .. Now I have to do what you just showed us or find a guy with a small hand to replace a bulb .. thank you for your time

Thanks for the video, it was very informative. Now I know what fairly tedius job this is. You said that you don't have any money to pay a mechanic. Well, for me its the other way around in that the reason I have money is because I do all my own jobs and don't pay a mechanic!😂

Thanks for the video! Just bought a 2012 in very good condition, except for one broken fog lamp. Will definitely replace it - worked with Honda plastic trim a lot. I bought a bag of 100 of those connectors on Amazon a couple years ago for about $10. The stealership wants $5 each! Hahaha! What replacement lamp did you buy and how was it? Thx.

Just changed fog lights in a 2012 following instructions in the owners manual (pg 310). Two minutes each side!! Page 311 even shows you how to properly remove and install the black clips.

question. How did you find the projector lamp. Good or bad? I have had to try several bulbs before finding one. And it is still bad light. So im installing xenon tonight actually. Is there anything else i should be aware of with this car? What kind of motor do you have? I have 2,2 Dtech diesel. I think they are made in England those that comes to Norway.

Useful video but you really don’t need to do all that lol *alla lighting* does a good video on it. You just need to remove the shield right in front of the tire and you’ll be able to reach in there and change it but I can see why you did all this for having no prior references I would have done the same

What a complicated pain in the neck for what should be a straightforward repair. I guess somebody at Honda has a cousin who owns a "plastic fairings and fasteners" business. Jeez.
