I just wanted to comment and say that Kristi has some of the cleanest lifting techniques of any female crossfitter. She always hinges perfectly in her deadlifts and she lifts really heavy. Her ring muscleup technique is superb as well. She is clearly an athlete that emphasizes the value of technique over load and as a result is terrific and impressive in every way.

This is so important. I am 65years old and have been lifting from 13 years old. It is important to realize that the body changes over time and adjustments need to be made. Learning to adjust rather than quit makes it possible to continue to enjoy the sport. It is not always easy having to accept that my body is not in its 20 year old prime. But for 65 years old, it is doing pretty good. Thanks Kristi for your insight, inspiration, and encouragement.

You guys are terrific and motivating! Burnout can occur in every facet of life where repetition dominates your mind, body and spirit. It can be work, hobbies and working out, to name a few. I burn out from all of these over time and always roll back to a favorite phrase, just honor yourself. I'm more than twice the age of you and your viewers, have a long way to go with my goals, but if there's one thing I can offer to this audience it is that we must maintain a balance with all of our daily things. Oh, and give ourselves a break now and again. Simple, I realize, but as you chug along in life you need balance. Anyway, off to the gym! Oh, ugh, we just moved the clocks back here in NH. So much for daylight!!

Love this. Coming back from being sick and having a terrible plantar fasciitis flare up. Had to reel things back a lot lately and it’s easy to get discouraged. I guess still moving some and doing what I can is better than nothing at all.

Sometimes you have to do a shake up for a bit and try to rediscover your drive and why you wanted those goals in the past. It’s only a rough patch give yourself a moment to. Breath. 😊

Hey! Love you guys and thanks again for the content. One question, can you ask your hubby what the dimensions of the lumber he used for the board and batten on your wall? I'm about to do the two story foyer of our new house and then into the living room. My wife and I loooooove the style of your interior design 🥰

    I'm in a situation where I'm 3 weeks to my first-ever competition,
I worked very hard to reach the level that I'm right now,
I'm highly motivated to keep going, yet I'm noticing that my body is giving me signals " tendon inflammation, not recovering well even after long good sleep and rests," and to be honest, I don't know what to do,
Shall I take it easy in training? Shall I take some days off and then go back. Its confusing to take the most rational direction

I‘m a huge fan of Kristi. My favorite in the womens field. I absolutely love the content on this channel.
But……, (now comes the but 😂) what you describe Kristi is not a burnout. Far from it. I myself just had one and I work with athletes (not crossfit) that have burnouts (overtraining). These people don‘t function anymore. Usually you also see objective signs like hightend levels of certain liver enzymes, kidney molecules etc.
Most people talk about feelings of exhaustion/tiredness/dizziness/etc…
The weirdest part is, that in the beginning stages their athletic performance doesn‘t suffer at all and can even improve.
Sleep and nutrition don‘t cure this. But erasing any intensity for 2-6 months while sometimes even increasing volume does.
In my case this meant: 1. Cardio in Zone2 only (barely sweating) for 20-50 minutes. RPE 1-3.
    2. Bodybuilding sessions with RPE‘s up to 8. Never breathing heavy or moving explosively (no olympic lifts)
    3. Wait long. It takes months to recover. It is a mixture of biochemical toxicity and neural fatigue. Not only peripheral but also in the brain. It can ultimately lead to depression and unability to do sports.
    Take care everybody.
