    Because I'm old, I remember Maison Ikkoku being very good at accidentally teaching you Japanese. Because it was seinen and not shonen, the pacing was more normal and the delivery was (somewhat) more like real people talking. And the situations were everyday and repeatable. This was how the famous series "French in Action" was developed; the videos were fully inmersive, but the situations were everyday and repeated to give your brain time to clue in as the series progressed.

      I just finished Maison ikkoku this week, and it's a masterpiece. Maybe the greatest romance I've watched

    Pretty sure that key chain is meant to double as a blackjack for self-defense. It doesn't look heavy enough, but it has the right shape.

      Considering Sugita has a habit of trolling people using some BDSM toys and stuff (and some people commented on the full vid that it's kinda suspicious), I won't be surprised if it actually originally be like that.

      It is indeed definitely a tool for BDSM cause he admitted several times that he has several stuffs or even given as a birthday present

    Generally don't learn Japanese from anime, but it's not impossible! There are content creators on UA-cam that are living examples that became native-level just with watching anime. However, you will have to be a very big anime fan, and be watching mostly over 600 titles across many different genres for anime to actually be useful for raising your Japanese proficiency.

      I've watched 400+ and just know words... Not fluent at all.

      @baki9191 Рік тому +3

      Wrong. You could just watch and mine every One Piece episode twice and that would be enough to get you to 95% comprehension for all native material.

    • @magicflierplays
      @magicflierplays Рік тому

      @@HanSDevX You're either doing something wrong, or aren't watching enough variety. Although 400 is technically still not enough. The minimum should be 600 and over 😅 And remember that when you're learning, you shouldn't be simply watching and magically think you will get better. The point is to use the anime you watched as material. You have to be proactive in picking up, remembering, and learning words to whole sentences. Looking up and researching stuff as well

      This is the worst piece of advice for learning Japanese, or any language for that matter. Immersion in your target language, aka watching, listening, or reading native content like UA-cam books and anime, is the fastest way to acquire a language. Anime is a great source of native Japanese language to immerse with, containing levels for any learner of the language. Please, if someone reads this, understand that any immersion in native content in a language is the most important part of acquiring the language and getting a real understanding of it, and anime is no different, it’s simply 95% normal Japanese with 5% anime flavor.

    I did romanji for a bit, but learned it’s better to just write the characters to help memorize because romanji can only get you so far, and once it’s gets complex it’s worthless. I’m only 2 months in, but I’m happy that I have almost all the hiragana memorized. I’m having problems with yoon characters atm. (Update) looking at it now it just follows the い column the whole way down I’m dumb lol

    • @obhwg
      @obhwg Рік тому +3

      Sticking with romaji for longer than even two weeks is the least ideal thing you can do for your Japanese

    • @caylemmm
      @caylemmm Рік тому +2

      Romaji is really good for the first week or so to help you understand the different sounds and pronunciation from an English-speaking perspective. For example: "か" can be learned with the romaji "ka" because that's how the character would be written phonetically in English so it makes sense to an English speaker's head. You should try and move on from romaji as quick as humanly possible though

    I agree with the video's title. I'm now in my 1 year of learning and studying Japanese (almost in my 2nd year). Anime Japanese is worse but for native Japanese speakers, it's natural for foreign listerners and learners. There are a lot of English-speaking Japanese UA-camrs like That Japanese Man Yuta said that the anime, Karakai Jouzu no Takagi-san has natural Japanese from native seiyuus (Japanese voice actors).

    you should probably learn the basics first and if you insist on watching anime to learn watch the shows intended for small children or toddlers it is basic enough for most to understand and pick up

    I tried to get back into Trash Taste with this episode but it was hard for me. I feel like the out of pocket Aussie episodes felt more interesting cause for the most part they felt different to the "ah yes must discuss Japanese culture etc". I didnt know who Boi Boi or I did a thing was so it made for an interesting dynamic. I have repeated in past comment sections that I very much have only enjoyed the Aussie episodes this year.
