That's one nice character arc.

2 years late lol but I always listen to this podcast while doing housework, makes me almost look forward to it 😭 especially when I'm cooking or baking (which I already like lol)
What I like about the Invincible comic… it actually ends…. It doesn’t go down an endless 30+ year loop like DC or Marvel heroes… it has a beginning middle and end
Dc and marvel superhero Stories now are fan service . They're not trying to make masterpieces they're just trying to make people happy/entertained There are good stories once in a while But mainly it's to make money off of previously established superheroes and give fans what they need (tho it's sometimes done very poorly) Yeah there'd be good story arcs every now-and-then but it's like they're making ovas for a show that already ended. The writers who do end it at some point some other writer is going to undo it and continue it As long as dc and marvel keep making money off supes there'll be no end
This was literally before that, and if you believe that then I guess it's because you want to, unless of course this is sarcasm in which I look like a dumbass soooo........GOMENASORRY.
In case anyone's interested to learn more about the "Save the kids" scam, Coffeezilla and SomeOrdinaryGamer made videos covering and explaining what happened.
Something to note about "The Promised Neverland" is that the manga also had a stable downward trend in quality after the (SUPER strong) first arc and completely fell off a cliff towards the end. Which I think was a reason why they wanted to change so much for the anime in the first place, because I remember the original writer was unsatisfied and wanted it to be different. Which, ofc, made it even WAY worse because they cut out some of the best parts of the manga (the "old" man, Goldy Pond, Ayshe, Geelan...) to quickly rush to the worst parts (Peter Ratri) and then just end on that nothing final episode. So, it's less "Ruined a fantastic manga" and more "Amplified the flaws of an overall hit&miss mediocre manga".
Yeah after all that struggle and hard work on their own the first thing that happens is they just run in to some really really important/crucial people. Which disappointed me
I cried when I watched the second season of TPNL OMG I cried so much because even though the manga had some weird twisted it was good--- the anime--- no just no
I mean the manga wasn't fantastic but I wouldn't call it mediocre. it had high highs and low lows, but I wouldn't say it was mediocre. Goldy pond and the first arc were really good ! but yea it really fell off around the Peter ratri part. I liked the ending, though.
The podcasts are recorded weeks in advance, Connor getting verified is a recent development. I’d estimate it’ll be 3 or four episodes before he talks about it.
@@cuy50 It's just preferance I suppose, but it is special in the term that it's better then most shows out, at least shows that are similair to it's medium. Of course it's got it's flaws, but it's one of the funnest watches (IMO)
Fun fact: While Kuzuha has a like 95% female fanbase, his partner Kanae who is the second biggest male VTuber in Nijisanji used to have like an 80% male fanbase. It has evened out now to about 60%, but it's still interesting.
Man, I love Trash Taste and pretty much everything they do, but it does feel like you're coming home to a home-cooked meal when they're actually talking about anime 😌
@@npc4805 As a VN reader, it's definitely not the "Magnum Opus" of Visual Novels, but it's a classic for a reason, it's just one of those stories you HAVE to experience at some point in your life as a VN reader, on the same level as Katawa Shoujo, VA11 Hall-A. Danganronpa, and DDLC.
I found out yesterday about Connor getting verified from Chris Broad’s tweet lol 😂 I’m honestly okay with them not always talking about anime because the tangents are the best parts. We’re obviously all here to watch grown men fight over their weird food takes.
Yea yea I actually get Connor's point of "just don't f*ckin animate if you can't animate it properly" and just put the actual colored manga art with freakin speedlines, voice acting and camera shake, it would actually look better than f*ckin Escanor vs Meliodas fight scene animated horribly
There's already "manga videos" on UA-cam that prove it works if they don't have the conviction for an actual adaptation. I watched Armin's transformation in Liberio on UA-cam when I couldn't wait for AoT S4 and that doesn't even have the voice acting.
@@mrnickname850 anime are made so people would get into Visual Novels not the other way around. Also, how would a battle-centric manga like RoR work in VNs? I never read one before, only psychological horror with magic systems that feels badass by explanations alone. RoR is pure adrenaline on the other hand.
The funny thing about what they said with male V-Tubers is that whole "streamer being your mate" thing is actually the vibe that Holostars has if you check them out but it seems that the Japanese audience is less interested in that, which has lead to them getting upwards of 80% international viewership while the girls in hololive JP have that up to 50-30% at most.
@@leeyiu742 If the guys collabed a lot with the girls other than the same 3 (which bless the few girls that do collab with them), they would be much more popular. There would be a lot of annoying elitist "purists" that would be mad about man talking to their waifu, but that's insignificant in the long run.
@@leeyiu742 This is my opinion: Having Nijisanji that huge amount of male livers, there should be at least a few with a good amount of success, right? It's a matter of numbers. Sadly, not all their members are successful, male or female. Holostars has only 9 members, but they have that close relationship that Nijisanji may lack. And of course there's the promotion issue, which honestly bothers me as well.
I think it’s more that most of Hololive’s audience wouldn’t be interested in Holostars (and a few are in fact actively hostile). The separation of branches was as much for the sake of Holostars as it was for Hololive - reduce as much harassment as possible so everyone can grow in peace. People often say Holostars would be bigger if they’d been combined with Hololive like Nijisanji is, but I’m not sure that’s true. Nijisanji has been around for a while to establish itself, and Holostars’ growth has been far more alike an agency starting from new. People who may have been interested in Holostars already had the boys in Nijisanji to interest them. And many people don’t like to look at “new” agencies with talents they could get attached to that disappear due to lack of support. That said, for a “new” group that’s only been around for 2 years, Holostars is actually pretty big. Not as big as Hololive, sure, but their growth is actually huge. Just a year ago Aruran was streaming to 2 people, and now he’s up to 2k sometimes. Same with Astel, who had 58 viewers and now averages 1k plus, up to 3k if an Apex tournament or an unarchived karaoke. Many JP Vtuber fans actually have a high opinion of them and are more frequently starting to check them out now, even if their main preference is still a girl or Nijisanji.
The episodes where you talk about anime are just the best! Just full nerd out about the studios and the animation and trends within the medium. So good!
But I love how wholesome this podcast is. To me it feels like on their own channels they talk anime and on this podcast it's like your weekly hangout where you talk about everything and anything and nothing in particular with some anime on the side.
Man them talking about Coco leaving is so sad... Anyway, has anyone checked out the totally independent japanese content creator and cosplayer KSON ONAIR? Shes pretty great.
Yeah, KSON is great. Can't wait for her to upload more stuff and do more streaming. But her roommates supposedly stream too. I wonder if they will collab.

Everyone is different; the fact that their argument had to lead to a 2v1 means Joey and the other one can’t come up with a good premise for their side and just jump to mob tactics. The other guy is Definitely the most annoying one.
Suprised they didn't talk about the mappa controversy. I feel like they need to spread the word about how truly sad the situation is. Cloverwork also had a incident months ago where one of the wonder egg staff had to be hospitalized because of overwork
I doubt they will talk about it, since they have connections to many people now and it's just another things that I guess they want to talk but they have boundaries that can't be crossed
I listen to BonsaiPop's podcast, and they were actually talking about how the bois don't really talk about these topics, suggesting they have influence they aren't using to try to and change things for the better. That they'd rather spend their money on their trips to Akihabara, and everything else they've done. Like I get it, singularly they're big. Together they're even bigger, but I don't get why just because you have a large platform, people think that means you HAVE to say something. If members of the fanbase here didn't care before, the bois saying anything won't change that. And at the end of the day, there are plenty of people talking about the mistreatment of workers in the industry. They would just be regurgitating the same views we all have, that overworking people, and not paying them is bad.
It's not like you have to say something just because you have a platform, but it would be cool of them to do. I mean that's how you force companies to change stuff. Companies don't care about right or wrong, they care about making a profit. And they're only gonna change stuff when it is more profitable to do it, and the way you make that happen is through social pressure. If it's bringing negative attention to them, they'll have no choice but to change it. It's basic PR. It's not just "regurgitating the same views". People with eyes on them have influence over their audience like it or not. And while some youtubers use this to make money on crypto scams (like they talked about on this episode) it would be cool if TT used it to change working conditions for the better. Even if there are other people talking about this, most of those people don't have an audience of a few million and a respected position in the industry.
how is that an awful take? i literally couldnt believe my ears that someone had the exact same opinion of that adaptation as me. it was a genuinely good anime
@@ChrisChoi123 For me, if a shonen has the same level of animation as the next iterative harem it's pretty bad. It wasn't horrible, but good? Hell no. At times, it straight up looked like it was missing frames in between.
@@ChrisChoi123 It literally look like it's made out of Microsoft PowerPoint. For an anime that revolves around fight scenes, that kind of animation is whack.
The thing about OPM is that unlike Mob it doesn't pass directly the message of finding meaning in life while feeling empty inside and it comes of as just "beat the monster in 1 punch gag". Mob starts from a anxious highschooler with problems to express himself because of trauma (a very normal and common situation) and constantly develop on this and address it. One became better at passing his messages with Mob and it reflects on the same time OPM chapters were released, so yeah it's valid to think one is better than the other
Live action movies, fantasy genre. I've only liked 3 so far: Ruroni Kenshin movies, Tokyo Ghoul and Gintama movies. They are really well made. And even though TG had CGI, they were decent. Gintama also had bad costumes and all, some characters looked like they were cosplaying but because it's a comedy, everything was part of the joke.
"what happened in the production process" They basically went "let's get a really good 3D CGI studio, and make them completely 2D animate this". Of course that will flop.
Eromanga is like sliding down those fast food places’ play places, where you get shocked from all the static as you slide down, but at least you had fun and for some they’re willing to slide again. TPN2 is like going down the same slide, but halfway through is a homeless guy who you woken up and he’s screaming and grabbing at you in a drunken rage.
I hope they actually end up watching some male vtubers to get a wider perspective on the topic. Holostars isn’t really a good representation of the male vtuber scene imo. Nijisanji’s Kuzuha, Kanae, Kagami, Kenmochi, Akina, and maybe even Fuwa are great examples of it. Kuzuha isn’t only the top male vtuber, he’s also literally one of the top earning vtubers out there together with Hololive’s biggest female creators even though his audience is mostly Japanese. Kanae is also growing pretty quickly, especially since he and Kuzuha are “ChroNoir” together.
Would you count Nux as a one of the big male vtubers? His channel is pretty big and kinda he began kinda like Nyanners, his content is really unique when compared to other vtubers too
@@eljidreigon8316 not really, the struggle is different for male vtubers who started from scratch and male youtubers who converted. So I don't consider nux a "vtuber". But don't get me wrong, I don't hate him.

@@Kaimax61 That's why i like to bring him up, there seems to be some weird stigma with Nux not being considered a vtuber when he passes all the checkmarks for what a vtuber is.
Which disappointed me
I cried when I watched the second season of TPNL OMG I cried so much because even though the manga had some weird twisted it was good--- the anime--- no just no
The manga isn't even that bad- yeah sure its mediocre, but its MUCH better than the s2 :/
I mean the manga wasn't fantastic but I wouldn't call it mediocre. it had high highs and low lows, but I wouldn't say it was mediocre. Goldy pond and the first arc were really good ! but yea it really fell off around the Peter ratri part. I liked the ending, though.

Wonder why nijisanji is so successful with male vtubers but holostars isn't 🤔
@@leeyiu742 probably due to Japan having a strict idol culture there and lack of promotions

They are on Netflix channel. So I doubt they will talk about it.
As I got to Connor's awful take, MoistCritikal came into my alerts with a video called "Slapping an Anime Fan"
