In the comment section, what initially seemed like a dedicated audience instead came with pitchforks and torches² and began hurling insults about TME supporting known obvious scams and questioning his morality.

Bias. They already had formed their opinions. The survival of the spirit is not only demonstrated through seanses or poltergeist activities. Dr. Ian Stevenson study on cases of reencarnation is a good proof of that.
The reason why these sort of experiments frighten me is that you can't really pick and chose what answers your calling. When you go fishing you can only pick the bait and location, but whatever bites is up to fate.

I once read a study that 30% of writers admit that they talk to their characters in their head as if they were people with their own will and ideas. All the writers i know talk about about the character "not wanting to go with the plot" or "deciding this without my permission."
I find it likely that whatever writers are experiencing is similar or the same phenomenon as in this study.
My characters always do that. I've heard it's a sign you have a good and believable character. Now... now I'm a little scared 😂
No, no. It's good writing, I remember a language course on Uni that explains characters should have their own speech, reasons, and will. Bad writing comes when someone does something he/she would never do. You can disagree with them in everything, but they are they own. So, stop thinking you're conjuring tulpas into existence only cause you're overthinking what they should or shouldn't do
@@GloomyGhost28 good thought. Except... what if they do more than talk and me and several of my friends see them interacting the same way at the same time? Seeing and hearing someone elses characters seems a little bit... further. And i have definitely experienced that.
Thankfully, I'm not one of those people. I imagine scenes playing out as if they were movies and sometimes I even act out scenes to try and get details right but never had one of my characters go "Nah, I'd rather not have my leg blown off by a landmine."
@annebird9195 Well, that's interesting. Maybe they have them really defined on their minds. You should try to challenge your characters in a deeper way. Something I would use to do is make them argue with another character that represents vastly different things and thought differently. Or make them go through truly life changing events. But it is still a bit odd, so I don't know. Take them out of their comfort zone more often, that's really fun and would help you become better writer regardless

In Tibetan spiritual practices there's something known as a Tulpa, a spiritual being that can slowly be brought into material existence through sheer will alone. There are theories that when we create creepypastas like Slender Man and spread stories about dogmen, alien grays, and bigfoot, we inadvertently create these kinds of beings. Then they appear before people IRL, which causes more stories about them to spread, which makes them appear even more. A feedback loop.

Yes, but with the Tibetan practice, concentration of will and mediation are involved. When a writer creates a story, for example, they aren't attempting to will the characters, world, etc. into physical existence (generally). Those theories are interesting, though. Could we be collectively creating them unconsciously?

Very good thought, or maybe, just from another world in our universe. If the universe is as expansive as is accepted, he could be have been from another planet where everything happened exactly as it has on our earth, with the story of Phillip being the only difference.
…but then, there would be quite possibly be infinite Phillips, and infinite versions of our selves as well. Maybe the spirit was the nearest Phillip? Or maybe it was just chance that the researchers outreach fell upon that specific Phillip.

The idea of those folks being able to do such that instead of just doing in a tulpa sounds more mundane, yet somehow more unnerving.
I was intrigued when this story first came out (showing my age) but if it were genuine, why wasn't this experiment ever replicated?

Ah.....it's called a DEMON. Bad idea to play with the occult people.
Tulpas are completely fascinating to me, if a little unnerving (and certainly not something that I would dabble with myself). The question is, are they genuine thought-forms, or do other entities to slip in and assume the identity of the tulpa? Either way, there does seem to be some kind of latent power within the human mind that allows us to shape the reality around us. The implications are incredible. I often wonder if some of the more outlandish poltergeist cases (Gef the mongoose, for example, or the Bell Witch) might be somehow related to this phenomenon.

Ideas and concepts can be given form but it depends on how strong the anchors to physical plane is. This is perhaps how some gods are born, and once it reaches critical mass it simply become mythological and archetypical, no longer needs one constantly thinking about it

Very interesting. I've never heard of this experiment before even when studying parapsychology.
The drawing of the ‘nobleman’ Philip, was wearing 18th-century costume, not mid-17th. And we didn't burn witches in England. We hanged them. They did burn them in Scotland and on the continent though.

The point was to actually include historical inaccuracies to see if the result adhered to them, which it did. So wasn't a period-correct ghost and that says a great deal.

I always remember that Houdini promised his mother that I'd there was anyway of returning from death he would do it and give ger a sign. After h8s death she said no sign ever came. In the Quran, it talks about djinn that live inside of you and ‘whisper in your ear’ to tempt you to commit sin, and that after you die, these djinn can remain behind to impersonate you (since they are literally an ‘evil clone’ of your spirit) as a ghost. Every human has one, because when Adam ate The Fruit of Life and Death, it introduced the djinn into himself, and ever since, all humans now have one to tempt us to commit sin

@davidmoak1219 Ironic. You claim us to be uneducated, but there are cases of many minds in tandem bending probability and reality. Scientifically, it probably has something to do with the whole quantum observation thing, but in practice, there was an experiment ran to confirm this. An automaton chicken was placed in a room with several baby chickens and programmed to move randomly about the room. The babies, after following for a while, were separated and placed in a cage in one half of the room. The automaton spent about 3/4 of it's time in the half with the baby chickens. We don't know everything about our universe, and the people who pretend we do are responsible for stagnation and decay.

What a bizarre story. I still lean it was something else, demon, ghost, and not a manifestation of the group.
I saw a 2009 documentary on this. A physicist named Jonathon Osterman walked into the test room where an experiment was being carried out on intrinsic fields and the door locked while he was getting his watch and he was first vaporized before this happened to him.

How did they know they hadnt summoned forth a malevolent entity that assumed the identity of the individual they had assumed to contact. Regardless of wether that individual had ever exsisted or not is irellevant when dealing with a demonic energy.

Firstly. There are no such things as ghosts, or spirits of the dead who have not moved on. There are spirits (angels,demons). Angels, according to word protect followers of Christ. I do not believe they interact or speak with us.
However, demons watch, study and prey on humans for our soul. They know others in our lives. They can take any form. This is why God urges us to protect our spirits thru faith. Demons lure people in thru their weaknesses. If a loved one passes away, you are not interacting with grandma, or your spouse. A demon is luring you in. If you are past that and being tormented, you know it's nature. They want your soul. This is why we are warned of consulting mystics, medians, fortune tellers, etc. They are real, but real evil. This channel should educated it's viewers in these facts. However, it will not because it may hurt it's status or loose it's crowd. Is it better than to misrepresent others and loose your soul?🤔

I'm not saying I believe this, but it doesn't explain the phenomena. My girlfriend's house is haunted (at times). Noises. Moving objects (small movements), smells (flowers, smoke). No visual manefestations. She's not scared one bit. She says "Nothing can hurt you". But. These can be heard by her dogs. Over the telephone. Movements of doors (once even rattling and nothing on the other side). These are not created by her mind. I don't know what they are. Moments of other dimensions or times? Ghosts? Who knows - but they can be heard and observed if she is not even home. So no- this is not the thing that causes things to happen. Whatever they are.
I first saw my flat ghost when I heard someone talking behind me,and turned to see a man in my kitchen doorway. I was quietly at the counter making my supper. I wasn't worried because I've been seeing ghosts since I was about 2 and a half. I call the flat spirit Bert and he doesn't worry me at all except when things go missing then turn up in weird places months later.
Your girlfriend is right to not be worried as mostly they are just harmless,non-threatening beings.

It's called egregore. A powerful energy created from sheer will that is fed regularly. People say it's a spirit (not necessarly human) however those beings interact with our very nature.

Damn, those were some freaky looking talons on that table. Trying to find a similar case about various psychics, ghost hunters going around an old Chocolate/Candy factory haunted by the founder and then filming everyone's reactions and findings. Only to find out later that there was never a candy factory and this person never existed.

They are one of many types of paranormal beings and can explain maybe a few paranormal events people have gone through and witnessed, but there are so many other beings in our world, most events can be tons of different things.

Fascinating story. My family believes that opening the door/portal through communication (like seances) can allow any entity to answer your call. I like this theory tho...the power of human minds when they are all on one accord. I wonder if anyone has every tried to replicate this.
An interesting experiment. While I agree on the premise that we can create hauntings from our minds, I do think other ideas are possible. Phillip is a very popular name in that place and time. As is the entire story. Pretty much plain vanilla. There were possibly hundreds of Phillips with nearly identical stories to choose from. Any one of them might have answered the call. When it got weaker while someone was missing, that could mean that person was a latent seer. The Talent does vary in intensity person to person. Several latents could have been present. Plus, it is a known fact that Ectoplasm is created from the Medium. Skin cells, moisture, dust, breath.

Perfect timing I was wondering what I was going to watch tonight. Ty bedtime stories 😊
i did a ouija in 2010, me and three friends, after a while I started getting a bad back and sat on a chair away from the ouija letting my friends continue, a short time later, i asked a question in my mind and the ouija answered it with my friends wondering what was going on, i even asked for it to move in a circle very fast which it did. was an amazing experience, especially considering it was reading my mind and moving a placette at the same time.
Not sure if your story is true or not. But I had something similar happen to me back in the 90's. A ghost (or spirit) seemingly reacted to a question I asked in my head. The incident involved poltergeist-like activity and it absolutely terrified me. I never stayed alone in that house again. I'm certain that our thoughts can be transmitted out in some way and picked up by ghosts/spirits/demons etc.

IT HAPPENED THE SAME TO ME !!!! Asked questions in my mind and the pointer answered. After that we tried to think letters and the pointer always hitted the right letter.
@@JW-dy8ru it happened the same thing that happened to sugar. It asked questions that i asked in thought and after that he pointer would go to which letter me or my other two friends were thinbking without missing one !

Communicating with any spirit is unwise. It’s simply too easy to end up contacting an evil one, which in some cases can try to possess you.
Once you open a door it's usually not able to be closed. No thanks not fckin with that even if they may not exist or are very rare. not taking that chance lol

@@SamuelBlack84 you’d be surprised. Read some accounts of people that have been messed with by those spirits. You’ll see what I mean. In some cases they a harassed daily for YEARS and it drives them insane

Exactly. I don't think it's the spirits of people for the most part. I think there r entities we cannot see/ hear as we really only see and hear so much leaving us blind and def to the majority of what's actually surrounding us. I think conditions can be just right then we catch glimpses.

Doing this, you wouldn't summon a fictional ghost, you would open a invitation for a demon.
How can you say with such certainty that ghosts are fictional, but not see it in your own religious beliefs? I might argue that ghosts make significantly more sense than religion.
