If aliens really use the moon to hide a gigantic space ship in earth's orbit I think it's only fair to charge parking fees... preferably of astronomical proportions.
We don't know what kind of currency aliens use, I think we could charge about 10, no, 20 US dollars for starships parking in Earth's orbit.

I've never heard of any astronaut ever "chilling" - their time is too tightly managed so the NASA (or whoever is bankrolling the expedition) can get maximum bang-for-buck.
In the ISS there's probably rostered down-time for relaxation... but lunar astronauts, never.

My Father was an employee at Skunk Works. I remember him telling me when the module was crashed into the moon, it rang like a bell for 29 hours, not one hour. "Like it was hollow" were his exact words.
I still have his drafting table and machine on which he designed part of the A-12 Blackbird.
I've heard one hour, and then three hours when something larger was crashed into the surface. But obviously, I don't have the insight your father did. Those guys at SW created, and continue to create, some very interesting pieces of kit.

Personally I hate how most people "debunk" things. They see one piece of info that can be explained and think that it suddenly debunks something and meanwhile they're ignoring a dozen other unexplainable bits that check out as being real info. Like you said with this page though its a nice in between of skeptic and believer.
There is a book on this topic for those who liked this. During the Cold War, both Russia and United States researched psychic powers to see if there was something to it. Apparently, there really was and the United States allegedly hired a man who was remarkably good at it, named Ingo Swann, to perform what is called Remote viewing, which is the ability to see something at a distance impossible to the naked eye, on the dark side of the Moon.
He describes seeing "people" there, with machines and a lot of stuff going on. He also describes seeing those beings (who look pretty much like us) walking among us here on Earth. For those who like an adventure book, is a heck of a good story. The book's name is Penetration - The question of extraterrestrial and human telepathy, by Ingo Swann.
Probably one or more of the human astronauts on the Moon were in fact infiltrators FROM the Moon who were spying on human missions. And if you're getting warm they just beat the living crap out of you. End of story.

Ingo Swann is for real. Some think he was so real that he was eliminated by the ones who wanted to keep their secrets. National Security has caused the demise of many many many people who wanted to help humanity advance. One has to wonder what this national security bit is actually securing? IMHO corruption at the highest level, worse than our imaginations can possibly imagine. Thank you I will look up his book. Also, both Lyn Buchanan and Lori Williams have CRV'ed the dark side of the moon independently, using only a target number, not knowing what they were viewing. Both saw the same thing: development.

Well, just think about these facts. Our moon is one of the biggest celestial objects when it’s scale is compared to earth. Mars has two tiny “moons”, and Jupiter and Saturn have huge moons but those plants are massive. Our moon also has had such an impact on our world, I mean it controls the earths rotation and the oceans as well, which are essential for life. Why is earth the only planet to have this? How convenient is this? It ain’t no moon
I find myself getting sad when one of these videos is ending.

Btw, I’m an audio engineer. Space is a vacuum and sound does not travel in it. No, they did not record the moon ringing like a bell, they recorded the spacecrafts instruments ringing like a bell after impact.

Honestly stories like this about the moon make me so giddy, just the thought of stuff going on up there is just cool in a weird way. I think that's why I like Apollo 18 so much, first ever horror movie on the moon and I wish it got a sequel

Just thinking about that movie gives me creeps for some reason. I was way too young to be watching it, and way too much stuff stuck around in my head.
I still think one of the scariest stories I heard was the female cosmonaut that was heard from a HAM radio in Australia. She said "I am losing oxygen. It is so hot I am burning up. Oh no, they are coming for me now." Then she cuts out.
These stories would be good to tell around the campfire or on Halloween.
The story is better when you realize "remote siesmometers" do not even make sense, and realize that some folks were there packing their stuff as the moon is making that noise.

Didn't Buzz Aldrin admit that they did see UFOs during their moon trip? I believe it was in one of many interviews done alter in his life. He stated that they did see UFOs and it sort of traumatized Neil Armstrong and is one of the reasons why he rarely made public appearances.

I enjoyed this video. The picture shown at 15:16 is actually from Ceres, a dwarf planet located in the Asteroid belt. Scientists believe these bright spots may actually be build ups of salt.
It's still quite strange to look at though. A shiny spot on a celestial body otherwise not shiny.

I’m not one to bolster crazy theories but I also love horror stories so I would like for people to imagine that even at the height of the Cold War with so many nations at each other’s throats that that something was found on the moon that was so terrifying that all these nations put aside their differences and agreed to never step foot on the moon ever again.

Made in China isn't exactly the poster child for quality made, even when they put their all into building something, Chinese manufacturers/contractors are pretty well known for cheaping out on the quality of material/construction in order to skim money off the top on such projects, often times resulting in horrible critical failures of the structures they build.
During the same time they all also made a pact to stay away from Antarctica for some reason.

Good movie. Really intense. Perfect set up for a horror movie: Two astronauts land on the moon and find out that they are not alone.

Mars is much much farther away which leads to a lot more calculations on timing it right with our corresponding orbits, feeding astronauts, fueling, finding out how to keep them from going insane while stuck in a space ship and numerous other factors. We technically have the knowledge and ability to do it but it would be insanely expensive and problematic.

Great Sci fi book where as we explore the moon we find a man in a spacesuit dead only he is over 200,000 years old. Can't remember the author.
I remember that book, I think the name was Gentle Giants of Ganymede. James P. Hogan. Apparently it is part of a series. I read that one back when I was a kid. Thank you for the reminder.
Edit: Sorry, that is the second book. First one is Inherit the Stars. Cover shows a skeleton in a red space suit.
@@marclytle644 Thanks. I think I still have it. There were also a few sequels based on the story by the same author. They were also good. If you havent read the sequels you should since it continues the story.
The difference is that the author never pretended that the book was anything but fiction.

O, am I so glad I found this....
No, Hogan wrote that one later, Marc. He debuted in 1977 with "Inherit the stars". The video reminded me of that novel. I had to wrestle through the many science babble chapters at first - I was quite young and impatient - but I'm glad I finished that novel. The plot is highly original and gripping and AMAZING.
On the moon, artifacts are found. The biggest find is a modern space suit that could have been made by NASA, and in it a well preserved human corpse.
Two scientists take it on them to find out where this human - carbon dated 50.000 years - had come from. "Charlie" is definitely a human, but his eyes are a bit larger than most earth people have, and there are more slight differences that puzzle them.
Despite Charlie's note book and a way to translate his writings, they don't find the answers, at the end they can only conclude that cosmonaut Charlie came from another star, another galaxy.
They couldn't have been more wrong...
I don't want to spoil the secret, just that the last chapters tell what happened to Charlie, and what happened to a very important clue, an artefact, that was thrown away by an archaeologist in a bad mood. The ending did not only make me drop my jaw, it constricted my throat, the sheer tragedy of Charlie moved me.
Hogan wrote a BRILLIANT sci-fi novel (albeit a bit outdated on Techs), surpassing Arthur C Clarke's idea for 2001, A Space Odyssey. Inherit The Stars should have been a super bestseller.

The first pic of "lights" on the moon is a pic of the dwarf planet Ceres taken by the Dawn spacecraft. The "lights" are sodium carbonate which is reflective.

Eoin O Mhaolmhuaigh minus the bit about Apollo 11 seeing a UFO on the way to the moon yeah, none of it’s real. You can find Apollo 17 footage just on UA-cam, completely mundane, repairing their rover and hitting golf balls. The outer space music bit has to be the scientific explanation, because you cannot hear sound through space lol.

@the truth I have witnessed stabbings, shootings, I witnessed a murder when I was 9 years old. I have seen people overdose on the streets and die on the spot. I have seen terrible car accidents where nothing recognizable remained of the human. Frankly my life has involved a lot of this horror because of where I grew up. Now however I live in a nice town with no such things going on and life is good and peaceful.
@the truth I even survived a stabbing. Three men surrounded me at school and stabbed me several times in the stomach. Police did nothing of course and the bastards that did it got suspended.

Well there are old Zulu and Indian legends of the "time before the Moon came."
Hippys of Rhegium, fifth century BCE historian referred to ancient Arcadians as Proselenes, people older than the moon.
Apollonius of Rhodes, scholar of the library of Alexandria wrote in reference to ancient times: “when not all the orbs were yet in the heavens, before the Danai and Deukalion races came into existence, and only the Arcadians lived, of whom it is said that they dwelt on mountains and fed on acorns, before there was a moon.” Sounds like hunter-gatherer people to me.
Also, the nicest of coincidences, that The Moon is just the right distance, coupled with just the right diameter, to completely cover the sun during an eclipse.
I don't believe this story for a moment, but it is a good piece of science fiction/horror.
