Queen is still touring and Brian is still singing it with the audience . After the guitarsolo Freddie appears and sings the rest conducting the audience. Brian is often crying. The hologram is exactly this performance.
No matter how many times I listen to Freddie sing this song, it just rips my heart out. You can hear the pain in his voice. Brian May can accompany Freddie like no other. Just amazing. There will never be another Freddie. I will love him always.
Freddie Mercury's voice - what can I say? One could live several lifetimes and never hear another like Freddie Mercury. Certainly the most attractive male voice in all my fifty years gone by.
My whole life I've never seen this performance and being a drummer musician I cried when I saw this video about 6 moths ago, I was like wow.. Its perfectly sung with such emotion, absolutely perfect, one of the best performances I've ever heard
That guitar! That voice! That performace! They are geniuses. Also, you should watch his performance of the same song at Rio. Half a million Brazilians singing to Freddie.
This performance is so humbling and emotional, it is nearly impossible to explain how even 29 years later, Freddie reaches out to us and connects in a way that nobody else can. He pulls us into the music and into him, captivating us. Freddie may be gone physically but spiritually he is still here, that presence is palpable and he still has the same effect on us as if we were watching him live for the first time. Man or woman, is it even possible not to fall in love with this performer? And Brian, WOW! He just carries me away on the lingering wisper of his notes, what an amazing guitar player and musician he is. Excellent reaction, your emotional response was moving.
Freddie wrote this song for the true love of his life, a woman, Mary Austin, who was with him until his death. He left her most of his wealth and house which she lives in today. Mary is the only person who knows where Freddie is buried, he asked her to keep it secret, and she has.
Freddie was cremated not buried (though Mary is the only one who knows where his ashes are). During his lifetime Freddie said he didn't write this song for anyone in particular. Brian has since said he believes it to have been written from Mary's perspective when Freddie came out as gay.
@@decodolly1535 Thanks for reply, I didn't know whether he was cremated or buried but in any event only Mary knows the secret they shared. Freddie and Mary were together for a few years and he gave her a ring, telling her never remove it from her finger, because had he not been gay she would have been his wife, and he saw her as his common law wife. I have read several times this song was for Mary whom he loved dearly, the only thing that kept them apart was him being gay. They spent a lot of time together nevertheless, and they were soulmates. Difficult for most to understand but they had a great love for each other. I still believe this was a song for Mary Austin, and it is telling he left her a wealthy woman and as I previously said she lives in his house.
@@22mdh6 Just an "aside" note; being cremated doesn't automatically mean a person isn’t buried. Cremains can be buried, though since you have to pay for a regular cemetery plot, cremains are more often buried on top of an existing coffin burial, but they can be buried alone or buried with the coffin of someone who died later. Since Mary is the only one who knows what happened to Freddie’s ashes, who knows…maybe she has them & they’ll be buried or inurned with her. No reason to believe that. Just saying, anything’s possible.
The pure talent , charisma and style this man had is only equaled by his extraordinary showmanship, and ability to control any crowd , of any size by the mere wave of his hand. I fell in love with their exquisite musicianship as a teen in the 70's and am stilled astounded today, and a bit saddened . There has never been another...Freddie , and indeed the entire band was a one off, a truly unique one of a kind in a sea of musical trespassers. And what is so obvious is I believe Freddie actually understood who got him there. He was one of those showmen who really sang TO the audience, FOR the audience. I believe he meant every word of it when he said " I still Love you" to the crowd !
This isn't Live Aid it is actually the Wembley Concert the year after in 1986. Everything from the Wembley concerts is top notch. Amazing performances, you should check out more... Another One Bites the Dust, Who wants to live forever, Under Pressure, A Kind of Magic... You will enjoy... Promise. ❤️FREDDIE❤️
For the really big shows his voice was always more tired on home soil because the UK dates came at the end of a gruelling tour but, of course, we loved them and the connection with the audience in Britain was so profound. I was in the crowd for this and a few weeks later at their very last public performance. Wonderful stuff.
I loved your reaction to Queen. They are the GOAT. This song was so beautiful and Freddie"s voice magical. The way he can sing a song and manage to hold an audience right in his hands is what makes him The Greatest Front Man of all time. Queen are a group of 4 equally talented, intelligent guys that came together and created some of the most beautiful and iconic songs of all time and they will live on forever. Freddie once said that he wasn't going to be a rock star, he was going to be a legend and indeed he is. It is so sad he was taken away from us too soon. His fans will always love and miss him. I'm glad we still have Roger Taylor and Brian May, they are also very talented and are living legends. Please react to White Queen from the odeon-hammersmith 1975 and You take my breath away live from Hyde Park 1976. At some point i would love to hear you react to Live Aid 1985 from Wembley Stadium. that is such a legendary concert and hands down one of the best live Rock performances ever. Also please react to Somebody to love live from Montreal 1981. Again thank you for reacting to Queen.
Freddie 😢. So beautiful, so talented, and very missed ❤️. God Given Talent 🤍! React to Somebody To Love, Don’t Stop Me Now, and It’s A Hard Life. All from Queen ❤️.
Queen was an outstanding band. Freddie Mercury was a magnificent singer that passed away to young RIP Freddie. Thank you John have a wonderful weekend ✌️👍
Love seeing your band. Love your appreciative reaction. Great sound. This is so important. I have to click through so many Reaction videos because the sound just does not come through well. Good job. I'll check out more of your vids.
I can see this performance made you a little emotional. The live in Rio is even better! If you want to see how absolutely phenomenal Freddie was vocally, check out Somebody to Love, live in Montreal 1981. Take note also of the backing vocals by Roger Taylor, he also has a 4 octave range like Freddie and he does it all while he’s killing it on the drums! It’s an amazing performance, one of their best and you really don’t want to miss it
While my list of favorite Queen songs rotates, this song is always #1. I've been singing it since it came out when I was 11 and I'm 57 now and I never get tired of it. Not sure how that's possible.
In 1986 I lived in London and I was at this concert. When Freddie sang this, I cried from the first note to the last. It was a once in a lifetime moment ✨️
Hi John, great reaction..apparently Freddie wrote this song for his audiences..he really appreciated all their fans...by the way when Freddie turns around and points his bottom at the audience, they know what it’s about..early on Queen had a manager named Norman Sheffield, who swindled them..they changed managers and this is Freddie’s reminder to Mr.Sheffield of what he missed out on...Queen has a song entitled “Death on Two Legs”...it’s about Mr.Sheffield..he’s not named in the song..he knew it was about him..went to court to sue them and lost😂
Freddie Mercury wrote this song for Mary Austin his best friend and the woman he left his home and fortune to. He is interviewed explaining that Love of My Life was Mary’s song. Check out any interview with Brian May or Roger Taylor or a Queen documentary to confirm.
@@kendallneason3645...Hi,Freddie said that he wrote this song for the fans.....did you see that he points to the audience ...telling them that he loves them....the second concert in Wembley when he finishes this song...telling the audience that he loves them and adding “and don’t you forget it”🤩

He also said that Lilly of the Valley was about Freddie’s deep love for Mary but knowing his body needed to be elsewhere with others at times. Brian also thought it was one of Freddie’s most beautiful pieces !
WOOOOOW is right this always gives me goosebumps. Freddie's voice absolutely amazing. Brian's guitar playing just takes your breath away. Thank you for your genuine reaction.
I can't argue with you. Saw Queen and Adam Lambert at the O2 in London 17th of June. Love of my Life was a highlight. Fanatastic night and will cherish it forever. Hopefully I can see them again and drag my mum along in 2023 :)
Great Reaction! Please react to more Queen for sure. If you want a little Gem from their older days, I highly, highly recommended White Queen Live at the Hammersmith Odeon 1975. That live performance was just out of this world
Something else that will give you goose bumps is,” Freddy Mercury and Montserrat Caballe singing Barcelona “, live at La Nit. Combination of rock and opera. It is impressive.
