A lot of nightshade allergies are related to the skin of these vegetables. Sometimes the cooking process removes the allergens. It helps with the histamines.

Dad started getting the allergy back about 25-30 years ago when he was working in Maine. One morning, he worked up and told mom her couldn't move. He called in sick, which made mom worry even more because dad never calls in sick. It was all in his joints. It took dad about 2 yesrs to finally link the issue with tomatoes, but at that time, he was still able to eat ketchup without any issues, but no sauces made with tomatoes or tomatoes itself. After a few years, he noticed that ketchup was starting to have the same effects. A few years after this he was noticing the same effects again and he could not find the source of the problem until one day he was at a health store getting his vitamins and was talking about his allergy to tomatoes and told the guy that his allergies are acting up and he could not figure out why. The guy asked him do he eat peppers and dad said yes, almost every day, then he asked dad do he eat potatoes and dad said not often, but he said do you eat potato chips and fries, then dad said yes we eat it often. The guy took put a couple of books and showed dad the relationship between all 3. There is a connection, and it was causing the same allergic reactions in dad's joints.

We normally buy fresh, but we were out. The lean was all that was left at the grocery store. Our go-to is ground moose meat, but we haven't had a moose in 3 years, so we were out of moose for a long while now. Dad, as his license this fall, so were hoping for a successful hunt. I will have lots of videos of us hunting come the fall.

I have to agree with the meat prices. It's insane and highway robbery. People taking advantage of others to get richer. That chili looks delicious, maybe I'll have to make a meat free version since I can buy at least 24 cans of beans for the price of the meat 😂

Yeah, the prices are crazy. Use mushrooms as the meat substitute 😆 😂

You should make a second batch at the same time without the things your dad can't eat..

Mom always cooks with the foods that dad can eat but when he's away working that's when we eats foods with the proper ingredients, like moms soup with potatoes in the soup, and tomato soup for coloring. When dad is home, those items have to be left out because of his allergies. It's still good, but it's just not the same. When dad is home, they cook every meal in the garage, including breakfast.
