Thank you very much. This tutorial on how to create breakout rooms is the best, clear & easy to follow. And you didn't stop there, you made it easy for everyone by including setting up a slide with the meet links. Three cheers for you!
Awesome. I was lost in my last meeting. It seems like it would be one more blah blah blah ba blah thing to do that is either like duh, already knew that to what? Say it again! No, I need you to tell me again, slow. For the last time , if this is so difficult and I have to spend weeks learning it; I don’t want it, or at least post me a video so I don’t keep asking you questions. You offer clarity for something I was kind of freaked out about using. These directions are very good. So, I subscribed and I already have an idea of what I want to do with this. Many thanks for your video. Be safe!
This is just what I need, thank you. Such a great clear and easy to follow video. I have my personal google account as my main one, and the Breakout extension is telling me to make my school account my main account. I have such a difficult time in setting up the different settings, and maneuvering between all of my Google Accounts.
I wish I had started with this video, instead of watching the previous four where something wasn't completely clear. Thank you Where did you share the Google slides with the info to kids, in order for them to have access to it whenever they want?
Do you need to continuously create a new main link and breakout room links in the breakout room extension when you reset your Google Meet link for a class?
Question...is there a way to restrict access to breakout rooms once session is over so students don’t go back to them outside of class time? Hope this makes sense.
Lisa, thank you ! I wanted to know if you are using the same meeting link for your main meet everyday and the same meeting link for your breakout rooms everyday ?@ Lisa Marie mazariego
Thank you for your tutorial! Do you have one for how to make the Google Classroom banner into an active bitmoji feature that you have? I've never seen that before and I LOVE it!
I would think so if Google Meet is the platform you are using with them. My daughter is in 2nd and her teacher uses it. They seem to be doing fine after the first week.
For security, we must create a new google meet every time we meet with students. I assume this means the new meet links must continually be inserted in the "main" link for breakout rooms?
With your help, I'm really having fun teaching with the breakout rooms. QUESTION: Is it possible to be teaching in the main room, while BORs are going on simultaneously? I tried today, but kids in the BORs kept hearing me, but if I mute the main room, obviously I can't teach kids. Any ideas?
Awww. Thanks for that! If the main room is causing an issue to teach in, you can always create an extra breakout room to do small group instruction. I hope this helps.
I have a question: Do The Breakout Rooms in Google Meets can be use for students to play chess? I have a chess club and the problem is that only two students can play at the time. Thank you for your information.
Hello.......I do not see students in the assign participates button to randomly assign them to breakout rooms. All students have join the main Meet link, but when I try to assign them, they are not there to assign. Any help would be appreciated.
I usually just speak to the students but you could always just copy and paste the message in each of the groups. I don't know of any other way with this extension
I cannot leave students (2nd graders) unattended in a Breakout Room and was hoping I could use Google Meet Waiting room. Has anyone used Google Meet Meeting Room for Center breakouts?
@@LisaMarieMazariego Thank you for the quick response. We tried it today and there was loud feedback and kids said while they were in their room, they could hear other kids. What am I doing wrong? I REALLY appreciate your help.
Before they leave the main room, they need to mute themselves in that room. Otherwise, it will make that god awful noise you heard. Also, you should be muted in all rooms except the room you want to speak with to precent the students in other groups from being distracted
This is by far the best tutorial on this extension. Thanks!

Wow this was amazingly clear. Out all the ones I've seen, yours has been the most succinct. Thank you so much!!
I love your video!!! I have seen many but not precisely what I needed. This one is straight to the point and very well explained.
I am so happy that it helped. Have a great year

This is the BEST explanation of breakout rooms!! Could I please have a copy of the google slide that shows the breakout rooms/student names?
Thank you, that was so clear, a great tutorial!

This is such a great resource. Thank you for sharing. One quick question, can more than one teacher be added as administrators of the breakout rooms?
Lisa, thank you for this. What are the manager, liaison and speaker students doing for those jobs assigned?
really good instructions...tha nk ou

Thank you soooo much!! I'm not techy at all, but this was extremely helpful. Would you be able to share your breakout room chart?
Thanks. This was helpful.
Thank you! Useful! Would also like an efficient way to present Ad Hoc group assigned rooms to students, i.e., student names lists.

Do students need to install the breakout rooms chrome extension for this to work?
Existe un botón que se asocia a google classroom, como es su función?

Absolutely

Hi Lisa:
Is there a way to send typed messages to some or all of the rooms?
Thanks.
I usually just speak to the students but you could always just copy and paste the message in each of the groups. I don't know of any other way with this extension
Do you have video showing how you made your google classroom banner?
this only works if you have the enterprise subscription, correct?
No, this extension doesn't require enterprise according to its creator
I cannot leave students (2nd graders) unattended in a Breakout Room and was hoping I could use Google Meet Waiting room. Has anyone used Google Meet Meeting Room for Center breakouts?
When I let my breakout rooms go live it creates different windows for each one. How did you get them as tabs instead?
Depending on your computer, you should just be able to drag the tab near another one that is open to join them.
I don't have a meet link why?
May I please have a copy of your slide? Thank you!
Thank you!
Thank you so much!!!
Do you have a copy of this google slide? I love the breakout room slide!
Sure. Here it is docs.google.com/presentation/d/1Ir0Wnj6675TvkOlCqw3ADuFxeKVpp2ZyW_tRRlvLSzE/edit?usp=drivesdk
@@LisaMarieMazariego Great video and slide. I requested access. Thank you!
I just approved a few
@@LisaMarieMazariego hi! Can I have access too? Im about to try it with my kinders
I just approved a bunch of people. You should be able to make a copy now
Hi, I wondered if you know if you can record the breakout rooms? Thanks for the helpful video
You're welcome. I am not sure about recording. We are not allowed to record in my district.
Awesome! Maybe I missed it. How do the kids get back to the main room?
I just have mine click back over to the main meet tab

@@LisaMarieMazariego PERFECT! Thank you! Have a safe weekend.
Thank you! You as well
Are you able to share the slide?
Absolutely. Here ya go docs.google.com/presentation/d/1Ir0Wnj6675TvkOlCqw3ADuFxeKVpp2ZyW_tRRlvLSzE/edit?usp=drivesdk
Would you share your slides?
Set up is fine-easy, but I can't admit students or guests to the meet. It auto-denies them. Yes, I have checked my settings.
Could have zoomed in the presentation
Are they permanent?
You can reuse them. If they are not used for more than 90 days, the link dies.
DOES NOT WORK
This is clear but the truth is if you are not using the premium google meet you have no Breakout rooms...
i have dashboard
What a great tutorial! Thank you so much! 💕
