- Crawfish étouffée my way! It is full of flavor and simple to make! Make sure you are using quality Louisiana crawfish tails or substitute for shrimp and it will be just as good!

I lived in Louisiana for almost four years and tasted almost every Cajun delicacy I could get thanks to the GF I had while I was down there. She was from Gramercy and brought me Zapp's Cajun Crawtators one day. From that day, I was a sucker for Cajun cuisine. Crawfish Etouffee, Red Beans & Rice and Roast Beef Po'boys were my overall favorites. I really liked the Jambalaya I had at a Jambalaya party and the Pistolette rolls were better than those yeast rolls you get at Texas Roadhouse. There was a gas station just off post that made the best crawfish pies, too. Since I moves back up to northern New York in 2000 I have been slowly starving to death because the food is sh**t up here. The closest I can get is driving 2 1/2 hours away to a Popeyes. Although, I do make a pretty bangin' Red Beans & Rice on my own. It takes a day to soak the beans and all day to cook the dish. After watching the Etouffee vid, I'm going to attempt it pretty soon, it's looks very similar if not easier...
@SaltyTexasRanger6301 Get yourself some Cajun / Creole Seasonings and follow Chef AldenB recipes! You can't go wrong! If there's a will, there's a way! ❣️
Looks awesome!! Going to try and make this weekend. I like your roux technique.
Man look. I moved away from home to TX not that long ago and believe that the ancestors would be mad if I didn’t make this regularly. Only thing I do different is when I add my tomato paste, I throw in some dried shrimp to make that seafood flavor pop. Don’t smell too great at first but trust the process and it comes together.
Yeah…. My momma use to get that… I don’t see it much in Texas either
Oh my would love to know where you're from born and raised in Lake Charles Louisiana mama is from gueydan Daddy from Opelousas you make us proud finally someone you can watch to get ideas and does it right
This recipe is a Winner! Your skills are amazing! 🏆⭐❤
Thank you for pointing out the Cajun certified! I know a lot of people who missed that step! 👌🏽
Just made it for dinner and I added shrimp with the crawfish and it’s delicious ! Thank youuu
I'm from Terrebonne Parish, Fantastic Sir!! Thanks for this wonderful Etouffee!
I used your recipe and made this tonight for dinner it’s so good ! Way better and easier than the first time I tried ! 🎉
Man I just made this for dinner with some French garlic bread and it was a wrap! 🤣 All the kids bathed and went straight to bed. Now that’s real comfort food for your soul!
Lot's off great information in 3 minutes. Looks great! Thank you!
I like your videos you explain everything easy. Thankyou for your videos 👍
Man that's something serious... I love it I'm from Louisiana I didn't make this in a long time but I Will great job ..chef.
I say a video of a person using cream of mushroom soup and was confused cause she's in Lafayette born and raised. This recipe looks simple enough that I'm gonna have to try it ❤
Looks so good!
As always, on point.
Will be one of the first dishes I’m making in my new home 😍
Made this with some shrimp tonight and lemme tell ya idk why I waited so long to make etoufee! Much love from Beaumont, TX 💜
Excellent! Just like I do it, but I like to add a few splashes of Worcestershire sauce. Crawfish are in short supply and expensive this year. Shrimp work just fine as a substitute. I always have shrimp stock in the freezer, I make it from the shells.
Chef this is par excellance
I heard that "stir it a-cajun-ally" LOL
I got to try this one..thanks 😊
dang man...I gots to try this'n...thanks for shar'n.
Found your video because I was looking for an etouffee recipe. I had to pause at "beaucoup butter" and tap the subscribe button, because that was an immediate signal of credibility. Much love from this former Westbank native.
Good stuff man!
I followed you too the tee on the étouffée but I did it over dirty rice I was in love
Wow I came here for the recipe but fell in love with your shirt. Where can I get one . Second he's a good cook and great coach, the etouffee to die for. Thanks
😢 I made it today. I had it think and added too much stock. And it's a tad bit too salty for me. I will try again. My daughter loves this dish. Thank you for this video. Yours looks so good.
Now THAT'S what I'm talking bout!!!
YES, crawish at the end so it doesn't overcook and get gummy. Two thumbs up for this video
Mercy, your etoufee is really bossing,so gorgeous and tasty looking!!! 💯% slamming. Thank you so much ❤
CHEF, I LOVE CRAWFISH ETOUFFEE BUT NEVER KNEW IT WAS THAT EASY. CAN YOU USE CHICKEN INSTEAD OF CRAWFISH OR SHRIMP?
I need to learn how to make your version. Pappadeaux is my fav for creole foods. This looks better than what you can get at a restaurant! I bet it tastes just as great too ❤
Yes Sir!
i need one of those t-shirts
How much flour did you add was it a cup or half cup?
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Can I use cornstarch as a gluten-free option instead of the flour
I gotta be the only girl in Mamou/Eunice that aint made a crawfish etouffee before 😂
Thanks
I think I screwed up and put too much flour wish you had the recipe posted so I don’t have to guess how much to put in 😢
Typically for a roux, you ratio is 1:1. Fat (butter/oil): flour
What they said👆🏽. So here he added 1 stick of butter or 1/2 c (8tbsp). So 1/2 c flour (8 tbsp). 😊
Show us Bbq Shrimp
How much flour
1 stick of butter : 1/2 c of flour ???
Where is the recipe with amounts?
Good cooks don't use recipes or measured amounts. LOL
An experienced cook will know, but there are ppl here learning as witnessed by the comments. How much flour? I always make my roux first and then add my vegetables. Was it one pound or two of the crawfish?
I knew you was the real deal when you said don't use the crawfish from China. So many people fall for the Okey doke & buy the Chinese crawfish 😡😡 I only buy local crawfish.

Crawfish > Shrimp
He might be from texas. Doesn't have a accent like south Louisiana's, di
ua-cam.com/video/sX2XkX5itsc/v-deo.html This is a much better way to make Crawfish Etouffee. This recipe is more a labor of love. However, if there is no love in your labor, then there is no love for your food...
Excellent video and that’s how’s it done. No f ing tomatoes. 🏇🏼
This is not Cajun. This is Creol He put tomatoes in it and f it up.
You lost me at celery!
I hate celery but Cajun food wouldn’t be Cajun without the trinity. It gets cooked down so much you wouldn’t know it’s there
