I always say I don't want a perfect BTS, I want a REAL BTS. And they keep it as real as it gets.
You got it so right, who wants to hear people rapping/singing about cars, money, girls etc, things so beyond our real lives. BTS gives us so much more. I would be lost without them.💜
Same I also personally don’t even like comments that say they are perfect because they are humans and they are real. Also I can’t imagine how much pressure they feel when they see those comments and feel like that have to try and live up to it. Also the members have mentioned they want us to know that they are human just like you and me. So yeah I don’t want a perfect BTS I want a real one, which is what they have always strived to be.

You got me all emotional with that speech you did. When I watch bts reactions, it takes me a bit to want to subscribe because I've ran into a lot of people who obviously do it for views and aren't transparent. I'm not gonna thank you for giving BTS a chance because I shouldn't have to, their work speaks for it's self. You aren't doing me a favor by watching BTS, you are doing yourself a favour. I will thank you for your time that you put into these reactions though because time is precious (and this isn't me trying to be mean I hope that came across well). I've seen people start genuine and then switch up later once Army brought them to a higher level (and I would sadly stop following them after a while because it's like the self growth I thought they were experiencing was a lie).
Right now, you've started to gain respect from me and I hope you continue to move as genuine as you are because that is how forever supporters are made like Army with BTS. I love watching some of BTS' main messages of self love, self acceptance, and self respect slowly come to realization in other people because that's one of the many ways they helped me (and you doing this on born singer too the feels are too much kekeke). Same. I won't go into too much detail but there have been a lot of new people reacting to BTS lately and more than half of them are very suspect with their intentions. They see their BTS reactions getting views when before that they were getting little or no traction. Or you'll get a few videos and then comes the 'here's my patreon.' There are some reactors where I will not watch their channel no matter how much I like the BTS song or content they are reacting to because they are using it to drive people to their patreon. Like why are you putting an explained video on your patreon or any of the free content that will not get blocked. Or they want to monetize the video and are trying to get around the copywrite claim (because why should the artist get paid when we can grab that money instead). When reactors start pulling this crap I unsubscribe faster than it takes Jimin to fall off a chair.

You did come across as mean, but somewhat redeemed yourself. I've learned to give everyone a clean slate, that people will disappoint me, but to let go of those who disappoint without hard feelings. This young man doesn't need our respect, his mom taught him to respect himself and others. He wants our support along this journey of discovery. @@timothywest1183 im late, but I've been using this app called teuida and its so good, its free and you get keys daily for additional stories (with stories you kind of go in real life situations and it tells you what you would say, and you can speak it and get graded on your pronunciation etc) sorry im bad at explains lol, the app is free and its really helped me a lot! i started with dueling to learn hangul and the basics but i suggest teuida for more conversational scenarios, fighting & borahae!!💜

BTS has a vocal line and rapline, and you can usually always expect that each person will give their part to each song. Regardless if u have a bias you hear one part and get floored but then it only hypes you up for who’s next. And in some songs when you realize your bias hasn’t come in yet or if JK (main vocal) hasn’t done his part yet, you just smile in waiting because you know when they do they will just drop it. It’s a fantastic way to really listen to a song because each person really contributes!

Honestly I’m so happy you’re on your BTS journey. Everyone always says that BTS finds you when you need them the most. They’re really motivating and very positive. Even when he's being straightforward, there's still some some philosophy or revelation or a big question or an aesthetic behind them. A poem is full of passion, but every word is chosen carefully, with intention. They're puzzle pieces, every piece has a place to create the full picture. It's a form of ART. WORDS WITH INTENTION.

I first saw a very old live performance of this song when they were singing it standing on a rotating disk. I also saw them practice for this performance tiptoeing in a circle AS IF they were standing on that rotating disk. It was immediately one of my favourite BTS songs, honest and real.
You are such a sweetheart and I'm really happy you found our boys and we found you!! Their music brings hope, comfort, inspiration and picks us up when things have been rough. AND on top of that they genuinely love each other and their fans.

The first time I heard this song was the remix live performance when they were really young and singing in a circle just like the old school rappers, it is a very emotional performance too you should have a look at that video too. I think you can tell when a reactor is been genuine and when somebody is just reacting for the likes and subscribers pretending they like BTS or hanging from the big support they get from Army. For me you are a genuine reactor and I can see how BTS has got your soul. One of the reasons I like them is because they fought hard to get were they are now, they are extremely talented, each of them and I haven't seen an artist that complete in a long time.
It seems like you are surprised by the vocal line (Jin, Jimin, V, Jungkook). They have great voices and different colors! I thought you might like to hear a song that has all 7 but the vocal line really shines (there are many, many more!) It is called Love Maze

I can't speak for all army, but me personally, I like that you pay attention to their lyrics, I like your excitement and open minded appreciation of their music, and i like the genuine interest you show in learning more. I've been following BTS for so long, but I feel like I'm discovering them again through you! I was also someone who had a big dream and I had BTS with me along the way since their debut, in a way, I feel like we grew together as their music always felt so relatable throughout my journey. I believe you when you say you are humble and respectful. I love that you stop to understand the lyrics and really dig deep into understanding BTS! I’m a 63 year old grandma who stumbled upon BTS in 2017 because my granddaughter kept sending me videos. Then some how we managed to get tickets to their concert and I have never looked back. I love the fact that they sing and rap about real growing up issues. Things we can all relate too. I never listened to western rap because I can’t relate to it.
I love these 7 boys and am fiercely protective of them. I was 1 in a million people who formally got to meet them and they are super human beings who remain humble despite being on top of the world.
Keep being real and you will continue to gain subscribers. You don’t need to like every song. But be real and say why you don’t.

They wrote that song in 2013 when they were nobodies, in the rags, and here they sang it in 2022. They are still the same. The level of fame is crazy but they stay grounded. Keep your values, keep your message, keep your vision and that vision will become your reality the way you intend it to!
Their live performance of that song years ago made me cry. Here they sing it once they have accomplished everything they were talking about, but back then they were fighting for it. Goosebumps.

I think you see how special the relationship is between BTS and ARMY. We are very protective of them and of each other. Nothing fills our heart more than getting to share our love of all things Bangtan. Since you seem to appreciate the depth of our connection you might like a few songs they made to show their appreciation for the fans. Check out Magic Shop, Mikrokosmos, 2! 3! or We Are Bulletproof: The Eternal
Def check out their live performance from early on and see how they themselves have changed. Check out the first one where they are on a rotating stage, facing inwards and towards each other. Then check out a later one where they are facing outward - there is also a a mash up of these two where you can see how RM slightly changes their lyrics to reflect their journey. They give so much thought to everything, the simple decision to start with facing each first on stage, then reverse in a later performance is very symbolic about their relationship with each other and ARMY.
I made the same suggestion - I watched them all in order once and it was so powerful.

If you really want to hear individual voices, I recommend the BTS Tiny Desk Concert they did during the pandemic.
Its true that BTS really comes to you when you need them the most. I found them when i was in the literal lowest of my life and their words and message, it resonated with me a lot. A lot of the times what you need in life is that one person to make you believe in yourself and its wild that lot of the time, it doesn't always come from people irl. Everyones so centred around themselves that they dont take time to lift others up. Thats why people turn to music a lot. Sometimes all you need to hear is a line or a verse and you see the world and yourself different.
That song for me was magic shop by BTS (I hope you react to it). In it, they say whatever height they reached is bc of the fans and if each one of us can do that to people we only know through music, then we can do that for ourself too. And that line striked me a lot bc i give too much of myself to others and find joy in other's success. If i can find that happiness seeing others chase their dream, i can find happiness chasing mine. And i believe that words everyday.

I’m a 43 yr old woman and I first heard their English songs and loved them. But I couldn’t imagine listening to the rest of their catalog because I knew it was primarily Korean. Yet as I started listening to the rest of it I didn’t even notice it. What’s special about them is their message. Love yourself. Follow your dreams. You'll find out there is more than meets the eye when it comes to BTS. I think you will really enjoy this band once you get to know more about it. Their story is great, they started from nothing and were the underdogs because they came from a small agency. Now that "small" agency is on the cover of Time Magazine as one of the most influential companies.
My apologies in advance if this gets a little long, SORRY! I just want to help you out with some key things to know.
- BTS = Bulletproof boy scouts (Bantang Soyeaondan in Korean), and it stands for being bulletproof to stereotypes, bulling and criticism.
- Kpop (common misconception but it is not a genre) it's an industry. BTS started as a hip hop group in 2013, but quickly evolved and with in their 300+ song catalogue you can find pop, ballads, hip hop, R&B, EDM, rap, jazz, latin pop, etc.
-There are 7 members: 3 rapers and 4 vocalists. Each of them so different from the other and bringing something unique to the table.
*Kim Namjoon (RM): The leader of the group, born in 94' he is the main rapper, song writer, and super mega intelligent with an IQ of 148. He was the first member to be recruited and the band was built around him. He chose Rap Monster for his stage name, RM, but evolved and changed it to "Real Me".
*Kim Seokjin (Jin): Born in 92' he is the oldest, and even though in Korea that means he has more privileges he doesn't use his "Hyung" (older brother) benefits. He is super funny and lovable. Was studding to become an actor when the recruiting team found him, and he was recruited mainly because of his good looks. He learned to sing and dance from 0, and now has one of the most beautiful voices in the industry. He is doing his military service right now. (they are taking a brake right now because they all have to go and will get back together in 2025)
*Min Yoongi (SUGA): Born in 93' he is also a main rapper, song writer and producer. SUGA (ShooGua) means Shooting Guard, the position he played in his basketball team in high school. Yoongi is an introvert, who prefers to be in his studio writing songs, he writes an average of 300 songs a year. He writes and produces for other artists as well, not just BTS.
*Jeon Hoseok (J-Hope): Born in 94' he is the lead dancer. His background is from street dancing. He also raps, and he is the happy engine of the group. He choose J-Hope for his stage name because he wanted to bring hope to people.
*Park Jimin (Jimin): Born in 95' he is one of the main dancers, his background is in contemporary dance and was the last one to be recruited. Jimin has an angelic voice and a beautiful soul.
*Kim Taehyung (V): Born in 95' Tae has one of the most unique soulful voices, he is the baritone of the group and has low tones and high pitches you wouldn't imagine. Have you heard the phrase "Think outside the box"? well, out of the seven that would be Tae. He is an artist in every aspect of the word.
*Jung Jungkook (JK): Born in 97' he is the youngest of the group, also their main vocalist. He has the most stable voice specially when dancing... oh yeah they don't use playbacks, or lip sing, ever. JK is the "Golden Maknae" (Maknae = the youngest), RM gave him that nickname because he is good at everything he does... everything.
-Their training period lasted about 2 years, where they lived in a dorm, many trainees came and went, about 30 I believe, and these 7 were chosen to become BTS. They were in their teens when they debuted, JK(youngest) was 16 and Jin(oldest) was 20. Their company, Big Hit entertainment (which mission statement is "Music and artist for healing") was a very small company, and the boys literary started from nothing. They all shared one room in their 2 room apartment and worked really hard to get where they are.
-BTS's music talks about self-love, acceptance, political injustice, depression, mental health and more important subjects you don't really see pop groups singing about. They do not write your typical "love song". Their videos and lyrics have a lot of symbolisms, and for some you might need to watch the explanation video afterwards because it is too much to take in. They have a couple of songs addressing their hatters (yes, they get a lot of hate ), and other songs dedicated to ARMY (The name of their fandom).
- ARMY is a huge fandom, with men and women from all ages. (Not all teenage girls like many people think)
-Visually, their videos are master pieces. Eye candy for the visual artists like me, and if you are into videos and editing... their cinematography and productions will blow your mind. Keep in mind in the Kpop industry the use of make up and clothing is part of the whole illusion to complete the "stage" (presentation).
-These guys are down to earth, genuine, good guys. You can see it in everything they do. They have dedicated the last 10 years since they debuted in 2013 to give to their fans... they had a variety show called Run BTS and do regular Vlives with their fans. They are rewriting what the relationship between an artist and their fans is, and that is why we love them so much.
-They have produced so much content, there is something for everyone. Not just the genres of their music, but their variety show RUN BTS, v lives, staycation shows IN THE SOOP, vacation shows BON VOYAGE, bangtan bombs and episodes (which are behind the scenes of everything they do), and solo work.
***Please keep in mind in the Korean culture it's ok to be friendly/touchy/caring for your bro, aside the fact these guys have lived together for 10 years. They grew up together and treat each other like family.

If you want to know about each of them and their story, there is "A guide to BTS: the Bangtan 7" by Taylor Marie. It is like 40 minutes, but it will answer most questions you could have at this point, and it will give you a better context in the future when you read certain lyrics. Plus it's a well made documentary and I think you will enjoy it.
Yes that’s a very good guide to BTS, I also love the Rise of Bangtan documentary, long but more details, maybe something after watching the guide.

This was a song they wrote back in 2013 shortly after their debut. BTS worked hard for 3 years training before they officially debuted so this song was written to capture their feelings at the time. Suga addressing those who accused him of "selling out" because he joined an idol boy band rather than keep rapping underground, RM who was mocked for the same reasons but also carried the weight of expectations since he is the leader and BTS was formed around him, and jhope who spoke of the hard work they all put in during those three years of training and to never forget why he started music to begin with.
I didn't hear this song until I discovered them many years after it came out so I knew much of their back story and current success now and it was kind of difficult hearing them express all those fears and hurt but also made me very proud to see how they carried on to be where they are now. RM updated his lyrics a little for this performance (he likes to do that for live performances), if you read lyrics to the original song it'll be a bit different. They gave this song an official release in 2022.
By the way, it's actually a cover of a jcole song, Born Sinner. Not sure if you recognized it. He was surprised some group from south korea wanted to cover his song back in 2013. But fast forward 10 years and he meets jhope at lollapalooza and now they have a song together and that song brought you here and brought me here too to witness your journey. I became army in September 2020. It wasn’t until their anthology came out this past year that I heard Born Singer. Even though I had done a deep dive into their music and all of their other content. Like breathing sleeping all of their content every day for a year and a half, I had still missed this song. Once I heard it, I fell in love. This one is phenomenal.

First time I heard it, it made me cry. I loved their voices and the Rappers were felt to me like they were pouring their hearts out.
