Great video. 2003 tmnt tv series is my first intro of savanti renet and lord simultaneous. Which allowed me to recognize them in 2012 tmnt tv series. Fell in love with their story as a fresh alternate dimension
I think he should have been the villain TMNT 3 as it’s a time travel movie, I like his team up with the universal monsters and can you do a video on Darius Dunn both versions?
I would have loved that but you gotta remember those 90s movies kept getting lower and lower budgets, I doubt they would've been able to pull Savanti off with the budget and effects they were working with for 3.
@thegreygoblin5165 True, though, they could've worked around that by having Savanti mostly in a human form and saving his monstrous form for the climax/final battle?
@TheTurtleNexus yeah and I find it interesting of the variant differences like one having a wife one being with renet training side by side etc and so it may be pieces of the same history and maybe him dabbling with black magic messed with his mind.
I based it on how she is often pronounced in shows, and mainly, by her creators (even though they tend to forget). In this interview with Steve Lavigne (who dated the original inspiration for the character who had the same name), he clearly corrects everyone and says "re-net." ua-cam.com/users/livevlA3P836-8U?si=kYzUly_Hmy_Wgwht&t=1029 Peter Laird has also been correcting people for decades on how to pronounce her name. The name seems to be inspired by the French word Renette, but I don't know what her parents were thinking at the time.
Thanks for watching!
Do you see the IDW Savanti Romero as a variant?
I'm not sure if he's a variant or not, but Romero is definitely one of my favorite TMNT villains. Thanks for the episode.

@@thegreygoblin5165 They could've probably had him have a helmet like Classic Loki.
Renet would of made the plot better.

Fascinating Origins of Savanti.
Or it can just be 'Time Possibilities' Further Branching events of where Savanti or would've been taking those routes.
Den, you should collab with The Old Turtle Den, which is another TMNT channel I like
Thanks for the video
Wait...a horned "lord" summoning an army of the dead in 1986?
Seriously, did Dave Sim and Eastman/Laird like "The Black Cauldron"?
So the savanti romero in the mirage is the same in the idw like renet
It's not super clear. He was the same from that adventure with Cerebus, for sure.

Other great video. Any plans to make a video about the turtles newspaper strips?
Yes, I've been trying to get it in the schedule. Ideally for next year.
What would your next 2003 be about?
I hope it’s Darius Dunn from the 2003 and the IDW TMNT comics
Too soon to tell... I am preparing the next season.
How come you didn't mention the time scepter being in TMNT 3?
Because the Time Sceptre was present in multiple universes, but it's not this one.
I 4got all about him
He looks like Lord Dregg
I don't see it.
@ he’s an evil alien with horns
2012 is best
Renet is pronounced Ren-ay
