Quality coverage...one detail...the name Gosei is pronounced 'Goh-say'. Sai is pronounced 'Cy'. A lot of Japanese is a bit simpler than folks realize. Keep up the good work.
Yeah, I suspected those were the right pronunciations (more in line with my native language), but I couldn't really demonstrate that to the narrator in a clear and definitive way.
So younger versions of Mikey and Raph in the original Mirage Comics used a Kusari and Tonfas? Maybe Rise Of The TMNT was more accurate than we give credit for.
I feel like IDW's Karai must have been modeled after Gosei. Her dad a businessman who abandoned earlier clan values, mystic relationship with her grandfather, a reinvisioning of the clan...etc
I first read this story in a reprint at the same time that a _certain_ infamous season of Power Rangers was airing, and did a literal double take at the name Gosei.
Just like the IDW comics where Splinter and the turtles were reincarnated, do Savanti Romario all version and 7:20 just like she did for the Frankenstein monster
Sad the gosei hattori oshi sato chote orroku nagi the mistress tang shen characters was never used or developed after mirage comics. mirage comics characters need to be rebooted in a new time line
Thanks for watching! Given that the Gosei clan wasn't a part of the volume 4 stories, what do you think happened to them?
Wow. Great research and insight. It’s good to know that even the newer content still pulls from comic story lines.
I always thought that the turtles could speak English and Japanese because they were raised A Japanese immigrant 🐢🐢🐢🐢
Always glad to see the less talked about parts of tmnt history 🎉
I remember Michaelangelo called himself a master of the manrikigusari in the Fred Wolf cartoon at one point, too.
Very cool. Hope you keep these coming. Return to NY would be awesome!
Thanks. I already covered "Return to NY".
god, I keep forgetting Peter Laird looks like a friendly George Costanza.

Welp I know what I’m reading today!

I already covered Savanti in the Renet video (even his almost-canon origin).
@@TheTurtleNexus okay I thought that he had alternatives
@@srstriker6420 Just Mirage (2), 2003, 2012 and IDW. But IDW is basically the Mirage one (literally).
That tmnt story is new to me. 😀👍🐢
