Hi, I bought a Nitro 5 on boxing day. After 30 minutes of playing Call of Duty, my battery falls under 30% and the performance becomes unplayable. I took it back to the store I bought it at for them to check it out, and they told me that is normal for a laptop. Now how can a GAMING laptop meant for GAMING only hold a charge for 30 minutes WHILE PLUGGED in. Have you heard of these issues with the Nitro 5? I also have the 4050 GPU.
I don't understand.. are you playing games while your laptop is plugged in? And are you using Nitro 5 or Nitro V? Whatever the case, when your laptop is plugged in, is it actually charging the laptop or not? Your performance should be great and your battery will remain charged.
@DeepteshLovesTECH I really appreciate the response! My model # is AN515-58-78BT. Yes the laptop is plugged in (charging) and basically at full battery when I start. Within 15 minutes I notice that the battery has dropped 20%, after another 15 minutes, the battery is almost below 30% and that's when performance starts getting terrible. The guys at the store told me this is normal for a gaming laptop to discharge within an hour of use WHILE plugged in. I simply do not believe then. It makes no sense!
@@ft1916They are bullshiting you! Yes your laptop can discharging under extreme load as your adapter is working hard to fetch you best performance but that battery drop would be like 5% in like 1 hour and absolutely zero drop in performance! Something is off with your laptop.
Bro I bought this laptop 7 months ago... Everything was working fine, even the temps were fine while gaming... I got it cleaned just a couple of days ago at shop (fan cleaned & thermal paste changed). But now the temps are high while gaming (80-87°C Gpu & 85-99°C Cpu in Hogwarts Legacy & 60-70°C Gou & 90-99°C Cpu in Valorant)... I don't know why... The fans are working fine.. air outlet is there.. even the thermal paste was applied in the right amount... Any idea what's going on? Is this fine?
I mean they changed the thermal paste.. so.. Or the pressure is slightly off. Most likely it's a paste issue. Try different paste like Gelid or phase change material like PTM7950.
Bro, can you help me with some settings? I'm facing severe cpu temps i.e around 85 to 95° c in watch dogs legion, immortals fenyx rising and genshin impact too... Can you tell me how can i lower the temps? Pls tell me necessary settings in this throttlestop Also, once i clicked on done settings should i keep throttlestop minimize and always run it like that while gaming? Or no need to run in background?
Once you enable in Throttlestop, even if you close Throttlestop, settings will still be active. Until you restart - after restart you have to turn on Throttlestop again. Also 85°C-95°C is normal. Modern CPUs are built to run at these temps.

NICE! TY for putting in the work, umm that looked like A LOT of work! This was so comprehensive, BUT... _there's always a but_ Since it has only 6GB of VRAM, which settings do you tone down to run 'AAA' games at 1080p? _as for higher rez - buy something else_ That's the only thing as there are so many settings in-game, and then in the drivers, it's kind of confusing. Also, many months later RTX 4050 laptops are priced WAY down, yet able to play everything well - mind you, AT 1080p which looks great to most people.
So is the nitro you tested a 75w dynamic boost 4050 with a base 60w tgp going by acers website? Im looking at a acer nitro v16 amd one with a ryzen 7 8845hs in the next couple days is that setup potentially more efficient? I've also noted a max of 85w with dynamic boost but im trying to work out if it will ever be able to achive that or would a victus with a 13650hx be better and a 4050 115w be better, gaming is a second usage primary is uni and rendering and virtual machines having decent battery aswell any help would be good im buying in 2 days $1390 acer vs $1590 victus.

You can just delete the Throttlestop folder. You can set whatever you wish, set 40 or 35 or whatever. Higher the value, higher the performance, higher the temperature. By default it was 55W (max for 3 mins) and then dropped to 30W. So you set it in the middle like 35W. And if you ultimately just care about heat, change the Prochot offset to your wish (if you want max temp 85W then set offset to 15).
Hi... i have a HP Victus 15 with a ryzen 5 and a 4050. You can use nv frame gen on the 4050 and lossless scaling x2 on the radeon graphics igpu.... they give you good imput and exelent results! even with path tracing and rtx on. Its called the infinity setup.... and it works.
@@Kratos5229 idk, my hp victus 15 with a ryzen cpu is amazing because you can combinate the amd igpu with the nvidia gpu to use nv frame gen and lossless scaling frame gen but you arent going to have any bios control settings to change the ryzen cpu energy or turbo settings. So its a trade in that case, and the hp victus 16? i dont have too many info but i think the advanced bios features are locked on the 16 as well.
You don't have access to clock controls due to H series CPU. Only HX series allows you with clock control. For the Nitro V , like I showed you can change the power limit to effectively control clock speeds. Lower power limit = lower clocks.
Whatever keeps temps and fan speed lower while giving me at least 60 fps... If native ultra gives 60fps.. I would prefer that because here CPU will be cooler. More GPU heavy.
when i play CS2, I only get less than 100 fps even on low settings, i also have this same specs nitro v15 but its too annoying to get this fps after spending so much, what tweaks should i make in throttlestop to improve performance in cpu intensive games. although i got same fps like yours while playing rdr2, i get less fps in games like marvel spiderman remastered, forza horizon 4, cs2 etc. please do reply. also temps are excellent its just the fps which are being too low in some games
Set PL1 and PL2 to 45W in Throttlestop TPL options. Also for CS2 type games.. playing on external monitor(laptop screen off) is better for higher fps. Also note that CS2 is significantly more demanding than CS GO.

@@DeepteshLovesTECH Hi Deepesh, my average has dropped to around 170 - 180 ish and I can also see numbers going below 130 in my clips. Is the CPU that weak or is it getting bottlenecked? No. For study save money and buy a normal laptop. This laptop is too noisy for quiet study environment. You can buy an Android tablet for study as well.
The benchmark graphs I have shown are without screen recording. The gameplay shown was captured with Nvidia shadowplay which takes away only 3-4 fps most of the time.

Play those games without power adapter.. see if they are crashing. If they are not crashing on battery power but they are crashing when your are plugged in, then call Amazon and return the laptop and get a replacement. Your GPU has a problem , motherboard needs replacement. You can download unigine heaven benchmark and run that on battery power vs plugged in, see which one crashes your system.

I have this laptop and I am getting FPS drop in League of legends (I remember lol being able to run on toasters decently), it starts of well but a min in or so, the FPS drops, is it because of the same reason or something else
It's hard for me say.. how much is the drop?? And after dropping how much is the fps? I suspect it *may* be because of that? Try my solutions. It can honestly happen in most Intel laptops...but I still won't expect your fps to be below 150 fps...
@@DeepteshLovesTECH the fps drops to almost 50 sometimes making the game unplayable, when the game starts the counter shows 200+fps then it comes down to 100ish and then below 100 once you start fighting
No it's doesn't have a mux switch. It's irrelevant and not needed here anyways. There isn't much CPU bottleneck at higher settings and fps difference is meaningless for eSports because screen is only 144hz, so getting 300 fps is pointless. While adding external monitor will bypass optimus anyways.
@@DeepteshLovesTECH It's not meaningless cause Nitro 5 costs the same here with a 12450h and has mux + higher boost tdp, up to 60w which means it's gonna be much faster in cpu bottleneck scenarios, even though the CPU is weaker, same for the 4050 which can reach 85-95w unlike the nitro v 60-70w. Both have bad screens, only argument for the nitro V 15 is the better speakers.

Bro when i play valorant which is a cpu intensive game, i have so much stutters and lags becausr my gpu is proccessing things way faster what should i do
Valorant isn't really CPU intensive.. it just uses a few threads of your CPU and your fps is directly tied to how fast those few threads are clocking.... CPU intensive is when the game is really using like all the cores of your CPU. You can try to disable the E-cores and try that way once... but in my limited Valorant experience I didn't face any stuttering.

How was the screen? Is it okay even usung outdoors?
Great review btw and thanks
Can i buy this one for 3D rendering like blender software ?? Obviously ill buy the higher GPU variant
Yup you can!
@@DeepteshLovesTECH thanks
Is this better than msi alpha 15 with rx6600m 80w tgp
I have that and it hots 62 in cyberpunk in high settings
4050 can hit 68 fps at high settings. 4050 is a bit better but 4050 has less VRAM.
FSR 3 is getting popular, so you are fine with 6600M I guess.

You can also lock CPU temps using Throttlestop (PROCHOT offset) like I have shown in the video.
Will try bro, ty
If I disable the E cores, would my battery life reduce?
Bro, can you help me with some settings? I'm facing severe cpu temps i.e around 85 to 95° c in watch dogs legion, immortals fenyx rising and genshin impact too... Can you tell me how can i lower the temps? Pls tell me necessary settings in this throttlestop
Also, once i clicked on done settings should i keep throttlestop minimize and always run it like that while gaming? Or no need to run in background?
Once you enable in Throttlestop, even if you close Throttlestop, settings will still be active. Until you restart - after restart you have to turn on Throttlestop again.
Also 85°C-95°C is normal. Modern CPUs are built to run at these temps.
@@DeepteshLovesTECH
Marvel's guardians of the galaxy is running fine at 65-75 c temps only these games are running high... Well, ik that they're built-in to run at 85-95c but, will it affect its lifespan?
P.s:- if it's common I'll not use throttlestop... I've contacted Acer too they said it's common and no need to worry. Thanks for replying
@@VeezyVibesany issue with acer nitro v
Hello, by using throttlestop, did you lower the temps of you CPU? Does disabling E-cores have any disadvantages?
Disabling E-core is an option.. else you can use Throttlestop and lock power limits or lock temps.
Thanks bro I really appreciate this review. Do you think it can run warzone 3 in really high fps?

turning of E-cores is not recommended at all remember. that you're using you laptop just to game still half or even majority of the time you will be using doing miniscule task that having ecores will save you power
'Not recommended at all' - that's a stretch.
Is it also happening with ryzen variant?😢
hai bro,r u noticing any screen bleeding issue in acer nitro v.my nitro v has some screen bleeding.can u make shorts r video on screenbleeding test
Screen bleeding is there in any IPS panel. It'll vary panel to panel. In my unit it's nominal, doesn't bother while watching real content.

Sir how is it for 4k video editing? Considering 16gb ram
Very good.
what did u do with ur acer predator 1050ti?
I still have it. It's my main laptop. My reason for purchasing the Nitro V was to review it and create content on it.
I'll sell it after creating enough content on it.
Is it safe to manually clamp the cpu watt like that or can it cause overheating and damage in the long run?
It'll be controlled by the thermal controllers. It's just removing the power limits.
NICE! TY for putting in the work, umm that looked like A LOT of work!
This was so comprehensive, BUT... _there's always a but_
Since it has only 6GB of VRAM, which settings do you tone down to run 'AAA' games at 1080p? _as for higher rez - buy something else_
That's the only thing as there are so many settings in-game, and then in the drivers, it's kind of confusing. Also, many months later RTX 4050 laptops are priced WAY down, yet able to play everything well - mind you, AT 1080p which looks great to most people.
6GB VRAM makes the 4050 an entry level option. I best thing I can recommend is to use DLSS wherever possible.
What about the hot air blowing on the screen? Did you have any problems?
Same happens with Asus Zephyrus laptops. No issues ever.
Bro is there any motherboard problem in it i have recently gone through a comment saying his motherboard was burned after 5 months use
Not in my case. Anomalies can happen with any laptpp, these are electronic appliances after all.
Hi one more thing hardware has reserved 2.3gb of my ram making only 13.7gb usable, how do i fix that, make it back like it used to be
I don't have to turn off Active effective cores function in my bios. Is there any solutions?
I saw that there are two versions, i5 with 4050 and i7 with 3050. Which one do you recommend?
i5 with 4050. Basic Gaming PC rule: Fit the best possible GPU in the budget.
Really very informative👍 Well done brother💪

You can just delete the Throttlestop folder.
You can set whatever you wish, set 40 or 35 or whatever. Higher the value, higher the performance, higher the temperature.
By default it was 55W (max for 3 mins) and then dropped to 30W. So you set it in the middle like 35W.
And if you ultimately just care about heat, change the Prochot offset to your wish (if you want max temp 85W then set offset to 15).

Why my gpu temp is reaching 87-88 c degrees (avrg-83 degrees c) with same graphics preset but yielding lower fps... Need your opinion brother..
Hi... i have a HP Victus 15 with a ryzen 5 and a 4050.
You can use nv frame gen on the 4050 and lossless scaling x2 on the radeon graphics igpu.... they give you good imput and exelent results!
even with path tracing and rtx on.
Its called the infinity setup.... and it works.
Which is better in ur opinion Nitro V15 4050 16gb ram or HP Victus 16 4050 16gb ram
Hey bro
Does underclocking helps in temperature control
Like locking it to something reasonable 3-3.5ghz
You don't have access to clock controls due to H series CPU. Only HX series allows you with clock control.
For the Nitro V , like I showed you can change the power limit to effectively control clock speeds. Lower power limit = lower clocks.
@@DeepteshLovesTECH does that help with temps
do you prefer playing using dlss high at 80fps or native ultra at 60fps?

In spiderman remastered
Those temps really cool i mean they are barely getting over 80

do the solutions help in Valorant? I bought this laptop thinking it would give an average of above 250+ frames in a ranked game. In reality, the average is around 200+ while hitting the lowest of around 145. The youtube videos that show this laptop’s valorant review only play DMs where you get around 290+ avg frames.
Dude valorant is all over the place for all configs. This game has the most unreliable numbers ever. My brother's has a 1660Ti machine and even he complains about the same fps unpredictability in Valo.
Anyways try my solution and remember your screen is only 144Hz... your minimum fps is also above that.
For even better fps, turn off laptop display and play directly on external monitor (along with my fixes).
@@DeepteshLovesTECH Hi Deepesh, my average has dropped to around 170 - 180 ish and I can also see numbers going below 130 in my clips. Is the CPU that weak or is it getting bottlenecked?
Also, one more question, does following both the steps TOGETHER(Turning off e-cores and using your ThrottleStop settings) help? Or should I go with one at a time?
So, do you recommend this laptop for me to study bro?
No. For study save money and buy a normal laptop. This laptop is too noisy for quiet study environment.
You can buy an Android tablet for study as well.

I have this same laptop and while playing games the screen would just go black , and ive to shut it down using the power button. Please tell me a way to fix this.
Play those games without power adapter.. see if they are crashing. If they are not crashing on battery power but they are crashing when your are plugged in, then
call Amazon and return the laptop and get a replacement.

@@DeepteshLovesTECH the fps drops to almost 50 sometimes making the game unplayable, when the game starts the counter shows 200+fps then it comes down to 100ish and then below 100 once you start fighting
hey bro does this have a mux switch? Can't find this anywhere

You can try to disable the E-cores and try that way once... but in my limited Valorant experience I didn't face any stuttering.
i just wish to get it in 60k someday
