For Those who state that the "Keep Files, settings, and apps" can't be selected first check what language version of windows is installed - you can check by opening cmd and typing dism /online /get-intl this will show your default system UI Language - so if it say en-US you'll need the united states iso from microsoft and if it states en-GB then the international iso is required so Note :picking the right iso to match your current default language will allow the Keep files, settings, and apps to be selected you cannot mix and match your iso choice.
I changed the default UI Language from en-US to en-GB in the Language section as I am in England and so using International iso but I could not delete the default en-US language package as it was not available to delete so when I type dism /online /get-intl I am still getting en-US so still getting greyed out "Keep Files, settings, and apps" any help to resolve this?
@@nolly485 you cant just change the default UI language it dont work that way! you got to pick the right iso for the default UI language already installed.hence why you check with dism /online /get-intl.

For whatever reason, my system would not get the 23H2 update, so I downloaded the ISO using the Windows Media Creation Tool and did it as an upgrade. Believe it or not, the modification I did to get Windows 11 to install on unsupported hardware the first time was still present and worked for the upgrade as well! The way I knew this is what happened was the installer came up and said it was getting ready to install "Windows Server", which was part of the original hack. Well, 10 minutes later I had 23H2 installed without having to wipe my machine and start over!
I had a laptop that was missing the TPM module but had a fast enough processor, enough memory and I had updated the drive with an SSD. Your solution worked flawlessly. Thank you!
I installed this on my Dell laptop and now I'm installing it on my even older (2007) Dell desktop. So far I'm very satisfied the way the product is running. Both of my PC's have had their hard drive upgraded to a solid state drive. On my laptop, I'm not seeing any denigration of system speed. It boots in about 14 seconds. Thanks again and I'll let you know how the desktop goes.
yeap, it does work for windows 11 24h2 as well. the cmd command line approach. jus updated tonight to windows 11 24h2 with that cmd command line method. thanks .
THIS WORKS!! Too often I get tips where the prompts and menus don't match what's being instructed or for whatever reason the modification doesn't work. THIS WORKED!!! Thank you so much! I recently upgraded my PC with a WiFi 6E card, but I was bummed to find out I couldn't utilize the 6 Ghz band on Windows 10. No problem, I'll just upgrade to Windows 11, right? WRONG. Processor is apparently "too old" to upgrade. Then came the solution in your video! Now here I am on Windows 11 on the 6 Ghz band with all it's speedy glory! Again, I can't thank you enough!
I am new and just found your channel. I tried install nd it was so easy to install 23H2 and it updated to 24H2. Man this is a great tutorial video than I can't than you enough. It was a life saver.
Thanks for this video! I followed this procedure for an i7 laptop and an FX-4300 desktop pc successfully. In both cases I created a system image and rescue disk just in case. The desktop took two tries to finally install Win 11 - the first try ended with error code 0xC1900101 - 0x20017. It restored back to Win 10. I check SSD integrity with SFC /scannow and found no problems so I proceeded later with a 2nd try (and a few prayers). This time worked successfully. Both PCs are getting Win 11 updates and all my Win 10 apps are working. Great video, thanks again!
Thank you Rich for posting its nice to have another work around in your toolkit, I still use the Rufus method, down load the ISO and make USB with Rufus, if you reboot to it you can do a clean install however if I just want to upgrade my operating system I just run the setup from the ISO it works like magic and you still get all the MS updates
Another method is to open the iso through either mount or explore, open the "sources" folder, find setupprep, right click and make a shortcut to desktop. Edit the shortcut entry "Target" by adding "(space)/product server". Now you simply double click the shortcut you created and you are off and running. less chance for typing errors, and if needed to try multiple times, just run again.
Appreciate you keeping us updated on how to skirt those useless requirements. Usually my trick is being lazy and use third party ISOs, like Tiny11 or Ghostspectre. Which is uh... extremely not advised for security reasons lol.

In fact, the enablement package is the fastest way to get to 23H2. I moderate a forum for Windows and I have also made this available for download there because I have not found an official source at Microsoft. I also have two of my own potatoes on 23H2, as well as my laptop for daily work. The last one because I didn't want to wait until the update was rolled out. I always find your videos very informative and send my regards from Germany.
Even though I'm not planning on upgrading from W10, my i7-6700k isn't supported, however it's still a beast of a chip, just doesn't have the security feature W11 wants. Microsoft is always taking the position of "we know better than you" and always forcefully and automatically activates / installs things instead of giving you an option. W11 has so much stuff to remove / change to make it comfortable for the average person it's incrediable.
Yes. I recently bought a new laptop with Win 11. I could not believe all the useless, unwanted crap I had to wade through and it was hiding all over the place and not easy to discover.
I bought a new Lenovo 5i Pro laptop last week. It was my first encounter with Windows 11. After exploring all afternoon, I couldn't find the "shutdown, sign out, restart" location. After I found it, I downgraded back to Windows 10. Microsoft and Bill Gates are both EVIL.
@@fredfarnackle5455 That's funny, my Lenovo Legion didn't come with a bloated Win11 install. The only thing extra was the Vantage software that controls RGB, fans, etc.
Thanks a lot, the super easy methode worked. Originally my system had an unsupported CPU (Ryzen 1600) and I did install Win 11 (22H2) with workarounds (both secure boot and TPM 2 activated). A couple of month ago I upgraded CPU to Ryzen 5700X, but still I wasn`t receiving an update to 23H2, even though all new features of Moments 4 update were working just fine.
I recently got a Windows 11 laptop and found it was on 21H2 and wouldn't update (unsupported hardware). After much research I found your channel and this video. Many other youtubers suggested other ways or more complicated ways but I took the plunge and used your method (in this video) and it was the most painless update I have ever encountered (I started working on computers way before PCs were even thought of). I followed your instructions to the letter and it ran smoothly and took about an hour (Dell M6600 with solid state drive). I now have a clean 23H2 system thanks to you. I have already installed Explorer Patcher and that is also a very useful piece of software. The only thing I have found is that some of the default apps for some file types (mp4 predominately) have reverted to default and the Windows explorer now starts up at Home and not as it did before but that is small changes so I am not bothered. So again thank you very much for this video (and the others) and this is one of my go to channels for all things Windows.
You are a blessing to us. I upgraded from 21H2 to 23H2 using the first method. It was spot on. Thank you so so much. I have subscribed to your channel.
Ok, I went to your sponsor and totally dig them. My systems are older and if they could run Win7 without labor they can run 10. Only ONE can run 11. I dont need or want 11. Keep in mind, I ran XP then 7 for 15yrs as IT Admin in a company of 50.
The contrast between Windows Vista and Windows 11 is interesting. For Vista the issue was Microsoft certifying hardware that wasn't powerful enough to run it smoothly, now with 11 it's the opposite where they refuse to support hardware that is able to run it.
Umm, yeah....I don't think Microsoft had any control over certifying hardware that OEMs put on there. OEMS most likey slapped the Vista-Capable sticker onto the underpowered machine since it could boot into Windows Vista and do all the things at bare minimum, so they called it a good enough day.
Um.... no hardware literately couldn't run windows vista that's what its issue was. People tried to run it on crap hardware and it ran like crack. Windows 11 doesn't seem to run like crap. If you don't believe me go find a windows vista laptop. I still own mine. windows 7 runs WAY better. Vista is just 7 but not as pretty and you need more power to run it.
The thing is I am all for this as I am also against these requirements. They are a "nice to have" but then having 1GB of RAM for Windows XP was a "nice to have" but it ran on my PC with just 256MB. I accepted it wouldn't be as good, but that was my choice. So it should be our choice if we are using secure boot. By all means flash a warning telling us this, but allow us the chance to accept the risk. We all know Windows 11 runs eitherway. Anyway my concern is while Windows 10 is still supported there are no real incentives for MS to patch this all out. When Win 10 end of life happens then that's when I worry they will block all these methods. I have a PC that meets the requirements, and another that doesnt. And I am not willing to pay for new hardware to keep using Windows.
Dude I am dumbfounded as to how easy that was. Went from Win 10 23H2 to Win 11 23H2. On a AMD Phenom II X6 1100T running 16GB Mem. And it's flawless. You have gained a subscriber.
Yes, we can hope. 😂🤣 The last one I did didn't get taken down so I'm hoping whatever was going on there when the other two were taken down is resolved with the UA-cam gods. 😂🤣

I couldn't get it to work for me. Tried on two different laptops and got the same results. After "getting ready to install" it just stops goes away. No "ready to install "screen.
this only confirm that the majority of the requirements is virtual requirements they did choose to add for no reason.. The TPM requirement is 100% virtual limitation. There is many computers in the wold that are strong enough to run windows 11 without issues or low performance but they dont have the "TPM 2.0" .. But i see it like this, if M$ want to kick away and ban their users for no reason its their right.. but they will loose paying customers.. Most people i have seen stick to windows 10 while they think if they should change OS or accept what M$ is doing.. My guess is that the majority of those users will use windows 10 even after the support is killed.
Thank you for yet another useful video. Does installing KB5027397 also work on supported hw that is running 22h2? (with the KB5031455 preview installed)
FYI unsupported hardware doesn't always run windiws 11 slower than windows 10. I've ran windows 11 on a Ryzen 5 2400G for quite a while and it actually runs 11 faster than than it runs windows 10.
Thank you so much for the process...I am upgrading from windows 10.... I followed the ISO process but stuck on Installation at 31% complete for hours....any work arounds for that will be helpful
Wow, that's a lot of work. I'm running Debian 12 and the trend seems to lean towards more hardware support rather than less. I was using and AMD FX-6100 until last year and it was noticeably faster than my mother's, much more modern, Windows 10 laptop. I really only parked it because it had a ton of up hours and I was starting to worry about it. What's happening over there in Microsoft land? Are you all OK?
Been running Debian for years now too.. Recently upgraded my workstation to Haswell i7.. running Debian 12 with power to spare. Some Microsoft users are like battered wives. Often don't know how bad off they are, or how good it could be.
Kinda. What I mean by this is that if there is a major revision, you might have to clean install. Devices that do not meet these system requirements will no longer be guaranteed to receive updates, including but not limited to security updates.
Using slang such as calling something or someone a "potato" is commonly used to refer to being 'lazy or slow' also sometimes meaning 'unexciting or boring', here in the United States.

@@tonyf8167I very rarely do fresh install anymore. Windows is a lot more stable today than it was in the XP days when that was necessary. For instance, my Plex server has been through 2 complete hardware upgrades and started on Windows 7. Today it's on Windows 10 22H2 and has only ever been upgraded. It hasn't had a fresh install since it was new. That was easily over 15+ years ago. In fact, when it was new, it wasn't even a Plex server. It was a media center PC in my entertainment center. Today it sits in a server rack and runs Plex.
Just completed upgrading my laptop to Win11. This method worked fine but I didn't get the Win11 banner that you showed when the update started. Great video! I was holding off on upgrading my Windows 10 computer with an AMD FX(tm)-8300 Eight-Core Processor, SSD and 12GB ram to Windows 11. But with this method of using Rufus, I started the upgrade right after writing the USB drive, it took only an hour and ran perfectly and fast on my computer! By the way my computer is roughly 10 years old now, but runs like a champ still. I will likely do this to my older AMD FX-6300 once I get a new Power supply for it, it's at least 12 years old and was still going strong until the old power supply failed.
worked like a charm on my 2014 era HP laptop with Win 10 which had unsupported CPU and no TPM . Followed these instructions and it went right thru the whole upgrade in about an hour and a quarter , Booted right up with no errors . Everything works fine and the license shows activated , It even boots faster than Win 10 did . Win 11 is really not all that different than 10 . A few things moved around on the start menu but besides that it isn't a major change in looks or functionality . We will see if it will upgrade to 24H2 just as easy .
Absolutely amazing ! You are THE BEST ! This worked flawlessly and so well explained. A small tidbit....irregardless of the processor, if you can increase your RAM and upgrade to a SSD, your speed for running WIndows 11 will be just as fast as a new processor / PC. I have already upgraded three laptops and installed Windows 11 on them using your procedure. They all run super fast. Again, nice work and THANK YOU !
My cousin gave me her 10 year old HP laptop. It had an old mechanical HD in it, and was running Windows 8.1. She said it died 2 years ago, and then she couldn't remember her password. LOL Well, I popped a SSD into it, and tried to put Windows 11 on it. WRONG. So, I put a legit copy of Windows 10 on it, and thought, there has to be a way to put Windows 11 on it. Well, to my delight, this video showed me how, and it was pretty easy. I just finished it up, and then installed Stardock's Start 11, to give it the Window 10 feel. (I personally hate Windows 11's layout). Anyway, it's working great, and I just wanted to say thank you. And hell yeah, I'm subscribing. LOL
This worked great on my unsupported HP SFF elite with a 3rd gen core i5. and ssd. It was a considerably faster upgrade to 23H2 than my 8th gen core i7 laptop that is supported for win 11, but only installed 22H2. Thanks for this. Working perfectly.
Worked perfectly, great step by step instructions. Old Win 10 MSI gaming laptop now working perfectly with Win 11. Be aware though that during the actual install, i thought it had frozen a couple of times, as the % completed did not increase, left it running however for a while, and eventually completed the install.
typing 'winver' from the start menu and opening it will give you the Windows version as well. Just another way to get the Windows version build. Also - just wanted to say that unplugging the network cable on the sign-in to Microsoft for a new user account will bypass that to allow you to create a Local account on Windows 11 22H2 still works.
Worked nicely!!! It's ridiculous I had to do it. My processor isn't on their list, but packs more power than other PCs I have with supported hardware and run 11 just fine. Goofy list... This one now runs 11 perfectly with all the bells & whistles if I want/need them. Thanks!!!
This was awesome. It took me around 6 hours on a literal spare parts pc lol. The machine is a random Asus FM2 board, Athlon 750k, 8gb ram (4x4) at different speeds lol, an r7 240 gpu and a 64gb ssd. I started with a fresh install of Windows 7 pro, activated it by calling the hotline then upgraded to windows 10 immediately , downloaded updates on w10 and then installed windows 11 and it worked!
@CyberCPU it's surprisingly not bad. I was able to update it all and download graphics drivers and even play skyrim at 30fps medium settings with no issues. It's strange cause I was unable to install windows 10 directly hence installing 7 first but it upgraded just fine to each os after that!
That's definitely beyond the hardware I would recommend running Windows 11 on, but great job getting it working. Just another example why the Windows 11 system requirements are dumb.

Still works. I did it on a fresh Windows 10 install i had on a USB and just did the WIndows11 update without allowing windows 10 to update or anything. Then ran all windows 11 update downloader, it restarted a couple times, and everything is working. On a 2013 i7-4770, 32GB Ram, GTX580 8GB, and a SSD. Make sure you back up your stuff prior to attempting upgrade. I had some issue the first round, I can only say were probably my fault, not the process. I upgraded from Windows 10 that i had been running for about a year. Once in Windows 11, after performing windows update and restarting the PC, computer got hung up at windows loading screen. I later learned this was supposed to be a quick additional install/reboot. But I had a Black background and a loading wheel cursor that never ends. Hard restarted a few times and experienced this until i ended up reinistalling windows 10 and found good results that way. Just know you could have some funky thing you did with your computer prior to upgrading that messes you up, you may just have to do a fresh install. Again, Make sure you back up your stuff prior to attempting upgrade.

Both of my PC's have had their hard drive upgraded to a solid state drive. On my laptop, I'm not seeing any denigration of system speed. It boots in about 14 seconds. Thanks again and I'll let you know how the desktop goes.
I have a Dell desktop, and this did not work.
Please see my comment two posts above yours.
Your method to upgrade to Windows 11 was EXCELLENT. Easy to understand verbal instructions and graphics.
The first method using the cmd prompt also works with Windows 11 24H2. Thanks for this great trick man!
yeap, it does work for windows 11 24h2 as well. the cmd command line approach. jus updated tonight to windows 11 24h2 with that cmd command line method. thanks .
THIS WORKS!! Too often I get tips where the prompts and menus don't match what's being instructed or for whatever reason the modification doesn't work. In fear of messing up my desktop I did this on my Edge laptop, and it worked great! Now I'm thinking better go ahead with the Desktop B4 MS shuts it down. THANK YOU.

Mid March 2024 and the first method worked with no issues. Thank you for making this video.
I used your easy method to go from 10 to 11, no problems, thanks!
Great video, thanks again!
thanks for this! I just started my second try and you gave me hope :P
Thank you so much! I was stuck with my updates for around a month and this worked so smoothly. Left a like and a subscription. Greetings from Germany!
Good man! I used the very easy method and it worked like a dream; back up and running in less than 15 minutes. Thank you and keep up the good work.
Why exactly? Tiny11 is fully open source and you can download a tool to do it yourself lol.. cant vouch for ghostspectre but tiny11 is perfect.

What's that got tp do with this video?
In fact, the enablement package is the fastest way to get to 23H2.
I moderate a forum for Windows and I have also made this available for download there because I have not found an official source at Microsoft.
I also have two of my own potatoes on 23H2, as well as my laptop for daily work. The last one because I didn't want to wait until the update was rolled out.
I always find your videos very informative and send my regards from Germany.
Hey dude. Is there an enablement package to update Windows 10 22H2 devices to Windows 11? Are you talking about KB5027397 and KB5031455?
Thanks!

@@LePedant Why not, there are dozens of reasons to. Thinking is free, it costs you nothing.
Thanks a lot, the super easy methode worked. Originally my system had an unsupported CPU (Ryzen 1600) and I did install Win 11 (22H2) with workarounds (both secure boot and TPM 2 activated). A couple of month ago I upgraded CPU to Ryzen 5700X, but still I wasn`t receiving an update to 23H2, even though all new features of Moments 4 update were working just fine.
thanks for your input my guy your videos are always helpful
The ISO download worked - your instructions were really good - I'm hugely impressed

Thanks for all have been doing.
And I am not willing to pay for new hardware to keep using Windows.

is windows 11 even worth the upgrade from windows 10? do you get anything better or anything that win10 dont already do or have?

Bedankt

My guess is that the majority of those users will use windows 10 even after the support is killed.
you gained a follower, been searching forever for this! Thanks!
Thank you for yet another useful video. Does installing KB5027397 also work on supported hw that is running 22h2? (with the KB5031455 preview installed)
Yes.
Thanks to your solution I was finally able to update my unsupported pc to Win 11 ver. 23H2 and fix a world of buggy-ness...Thank you!!! 😊
FYI unsupported hardware doesn't always run windiws 11 slower than windows 10. I've ran windows 11 on a Ryzen 5 2400G for quite a while and it actually runs 11 faster than than it runs windows 10.
Great method! The only way that worked. I tried 3 other ways mentioned by other UA-camrs, none of them worked. Thak you!

Just used your really really easy way and it worked a charm! Many thanks.
But, do I really want to upgrade to Windows 11, or delay it as much as possible?
Delay, win 10 is more stable.
Windows 11 is getting a lot better. However, all of my systems are still on Windows 10.
23H2 IS what installed the first try! Nothing extra needed. Thanks!
This is amazing! Worked fine with a Xeon 2687w v2 on an incompatible HP workstation. Love this!
Does installing 11 on an unsupported machine allow for future security patches and updates?
Kinda. What I mean by this is that if there is a major revision, you might have to clean install.
Devices that do not meet these system requirements will no longer be guaranteed to receive updates, including but not limited to security updates.

That's for a fresh install. If you want to update an existing system the Rufus method doesn't work.
@@CyberCPU its windows... you should ALWAYS be doing a 'fresh' install

This is an amazing guide, thank you!
worked like a charm on my 2014 era HP laptop with Win 10 which had unsupported CPU and no TPM .
LOL
This method is effortless. Thank you so much

Wow, that's more of a potato than mine. How's it run?
@CyberCPU it's surprisingly not bad. I was able to update it all and download graphics drivers and even play skyrim at 30fps medium settings with no issues. It's strange cause I was unable to install windows 10 directly hence installing 7 first but it upgraded just fine to each os after that!
