- I started out recording to make an early impressions on 1.1 as a whole... That didn't end up happening.
What did end up happening was me falling in love with the story Kuro put together for this update. This was such a pleasant surprise that I had to talk about it and I'm excited for you guys to experience it yourselves.

The fact that abby knows how to shut up and sleep is already a win over paimon. 😂
When Abby was willing to throw hands with the sentinel thinking it was bullying us. That was a win already for me.
I spent the entire first part of 1.1 SQUEALING (on record, LOL) about Abby OMG. What a smuggy little cutie. Amazing.
Smugness always has a more endearing effect when it's done to elevate the player

I agree. 1.0 kinda felt like the devs weren't sure what they wanted to put into the story, or just wanted to put in too much so it feels too packed with random crap. This part of the sotry felt much better written, much better paced, the cinematics and music were beautiful, and the map also was more enjoyable to explore. A lot of the areas of the main map of Jinzhou are kinda bland/empty, this one feels more balanced, the puzzles are more fun, and the skiing challenge is fun too. Abby is a great mascot, and doesn't have Paimon's issues by being an ever-present annoyance. Like a racoon, cute but will fight you. Abby is a cute small fluffy thing, but it boasted about protecting Rover and was actually going to do that, willing to throw hands with Jue. That was pretty cool.
And man, Jinhsi is such an amazing character. Both in-game and in terms of writing. I was much more emotionally invested into this story than into the main story of 1.0, and it was more enjoyable overall. Changli was great too, a very compelling character, and that cutscene where she crushed the fractisidus was so badass too. It was also pretty cool how the relationships between the characters were shown, both Rover and Changli wanted to protect Jinhsi, but were willing to actually support her in her goal, even if it was immensely dangerous for her. Same with Jue, it was clear it wanted to protect Jinhsi, keep her from risking her life, but it was still willing to face Jinhsi in their fated battle and pass on the Temporal Mandate. That final cutscene was phenomenal, beautiful, music was top-notch, emotional and hopeful, with a great payoff at the end when Jinhsi succeeds.
Even the setup for the next chapter wasn't bad, hinting at how Phrolova is planning to prison break Scar. And I've got to say, I've really liked her design already, but that voice acting is just *mwah*. I loved the accent and the delivery, and I now understand how so many female WuWa players could be so thirsty for Scar. Although... Phrolova, plus how much I've already liked Camellya... Well, I've got suspect tastes. My only saving grace is that I'm not a fan of Yinlin's personality, so it's not ALL dangerous girls that I'm into.
This channel's name is nice lmao, and yeah agreed, Abby is such a character, love Abby, the smugness is actually smug and not forced.

I agree. 1.1 is a treat. Love the dynamic camera movements even for basic dialogues. The story is nice as well. It's emotionally gripping enough especially at the latter parts. I love Abby as well. I'm glad she's just like another character and not a mouth piece. The environmental design and the level design is great. The new enemies are great as well especially that feline specter and the scale that turns into a sword.
Few criticisms I have include: 1.) dialogue bloat on some parts, but nothing that takes me out of the immersion; 2.) The boss fight is cinematic indeed but I was hoping for some more interesting boss mechanics (I honestly expected something similar to Warframe's Orowyrm fights in Duviri).
Now I'm hyped for Black Shores. I hope they keep up with this level of revelations. What took Genshin 3 years to reveal actual relevant information to the main plot only took WuWa 2 patches.

Yes! Abby being a companion that Rover talks and interacts with does so much to endear me to her! I actually got super excited to see her showing up cause she felt so delightful to be around.
I wasn't particularly offended by the amount of dialogue in this patch cause it felt more natural to what was going on with what was happening in the story (The recap at the beginning did go a little longer than I'd like though).
Yeah, the boss fight could've been better in terms of mechanics. I'm hoping we get hologram versions of the Calamity bosses at some point because I'd love more intensive fights with them (Scar especially).

Actually they only revealed information about this region, notice even Jue has no knowledge of our MC's real identity,other than "he's the chosen one".
I started 1.1 while waiting for Dawntrail to release, I ended up really enjoying it and went from fence sitting doing daily logins to being excited for what the future patches might hold. I pulled Jinshi because white eyelashes are awesome, but I ended up really liking her as a character as well as her kit lol

for me, I kinda disagree about lore drop 1.0 because it is really important to understand the context but.. they just not doing good way on story telling thats why act 7 feel better than previous story
@@ShiroYuu_00 The issue isn't the concept of lore dropping to introduce you to the world. The problem is the sheer amount of information the game decides to dump on you that isn't necessarily important at the time they tell you the info.
As an example, at what point does the Etheric Sea even get mentioned besides one time Yangyang includes it in her word salad in the tutorial?

My only problem with the story was the Jué’s conclusion of freezing everything.
1) It’s running away
2) It’s pretty much spreading the same problem that Mt. Firmament is facing.
3) The Threnodian problem will not be solved cause (this is my speculations) they must be at least as powerful as jué, so like Rover, it’s time power might not effect them. Making them just move to the next city to terrorise it. Also not all things are suspended in time so the enemies can just destroy the structures, effectively destroying the city.
A future predicting dragon such as Jué must be able to foresee that outcome.

I disagree with Jue's conclusion as well. However, I don't agree that it's a problem with the story.
From what we know about the story, the fact that Jinshi and Jue survived the whole process was basically a miracle that was defiant of all the odds that were stacked against them. Rover's guidance only skewed the numbers by a miniscule degree.
By all accounts, we chose the worst option possible but we just live in the universe where we won the gamble, you know?
@DrBodyshot I do agree, Jué's idea would have been safer if the Rover wasn't there (the TD problem still remains though). But since they are their, Jué's first choice shouldn't be a kill switch, since jue knew the Rover's power? luck? protagonist energy? (Maybe its a very cautious minded dragon). Its ultimately choosing to go with Rover and Jinxi's plane without much pushback might be because of that too.

His (It's?) different personality aside, I simply enjoy his design more. It's actually adorable, and while his raspier voice can be a little grating at times, I enjoy it for what it is and is nowhere near potent as Paimon's high pitched screeching. It helps that it's lower register doesn't make my ears bleed as much. And the fact that the lil shitter wanted to square off with a fckin DRAGON he knew absolutely nothing about within the first 10s he saw them friggin' sent me lmaoo.
In addition, I feel like since Abby doesn't know much of himself either like us, it allows us to actually grow and learn about this world alongside him which I rather appreciate. Not that I felt Paimon did much guiding after Mondstadt but still, it's at least thematically apparent in Wuwa. He shows up when he's needed or/for comedic effect and that is all the is needed. It's great!
(And the lil guy is most definitely an ultra powerful demon dude that got kawaii-ified man. Abraxas, hello??? The devs really thought they were slick huh.)

Abby sounds like Awkwafina to me, complete with raspy smoker voice.
That said, while I wasn’t over the moon with AbbyI agree it was far and away better than Paimon and used sparingly…
As Paimon with it’s repetitive dialogue and screechy voice (and the overall general kiddie aesthetic of the game) is also a big factor of why I tried Genshin 2x and bounced off it within 2 hours each time.

It definitely helps for those that aren't very interested in hearing the story. Believe me, I skip over boring dialogue when a game gives me the option but the 1.1 story quest was legitimately a fun ride all the way through for myself.
