Thank You Very Much!!! 😁
where is this interview from?
Thank you verry much Fred!!!)))
I love listening to that stuff too. Niandra LaDes is the most raw album ever to me. So unique and beautiful and chaotic.
Smile´s from the streets is rawer but still god, but Niandra es her best album
Best jf album
Yes definitely, listen to modest mouse's first cassettes they are alot like lades
It's an absolute piece of art. I can't listen to it except in its full form.
I have always been a huge RHCP and Frusciante fan. I cannot remember him ever sounding this good, clear-minded, and healthy. It makes me so happy and excited for the future of music.
I was just thinking this. He looks really good.
I am a former cocaine addict almost two months deep into sobriety and on psychiatric treatment, untitled #2 felt like the most relatable feeling of being suicidal, mentally ill and addicted at the same time, I used to listen and cry rivers to it after failing my promise of every morning, "tonight I will not get high" "these next lines are my last ones" etc, the pain of simply existing and being a walking wasted chance of a human being who failed his partner and family. Now that all of it is behind, it also feels like a beautiful call to life, the song feels like all my darkness trapped into an isolated place I can revisit to put things in perspective and rejoice in the beauty of life and love, John Frusciante saved my life in big part.
That's beautiful. Just try and get a little better every day. Take care.
Pete Townsend's 'Blue, Red, and Grey' broke me down in that same way. Something about an off-the-rails rock God pouring himself out on a ukulele caught me at my most hopless and lost. It was no fairytail from that point on, but that was the emotional toe-hold I needed to start the climb back into life. Here's to the healing powers of music. Hang in there.
#4 kinda saved my life when I was 17. Music can have that power.
stay strong bro
That's so beautiful! It's just amazing to see so many people on this comment section saying his songs saved their lives. I don't think he knows how important his work is!
I've been using this technique for years XD
I always felt a "Syd vibe" in Niandra Lades
Its crazy how their paths were similar in one way or another
Thankfully John is still here
100% I always felt that too
He sounds so much clearer now, I’ve never heard him like this and I love it
''Weird for the sake of weird''
He's a genius.. probably the greatest musician of this modern generation
Listening my smile is a rifle for the first time changed my approach to music forever, and i will never forget it.
so glad my name is niandra thanks to my mom, biggest fan of RCHP. She wasn't so in touch with the album itself but I am completely in love with niandra laDes, I feel like I understand every lyric and melody. I love this connection.
This is beautiful to read. If I had a daughter I’d want to name her after this album. It’s a masterpiece of emotion connecting with musical genius, at the point when the artist is their lowest and most creatively free.
If you liked Niandra, you'll like my album Anne, would you like to listen?
John is one of the greatest minds in modern music.
Don’t have to add modern. One of the best ever
@@mediumsame164 This is a very important clarification))
I have nothing to add to that
All of his albums are incredibly different from each other. But listening to them, you always absolutely understand that the same person did them.
@@12xenn45 When I listen to this album I think John has no skin. All senses are strongly naked.
He sounds so coherent and clear minded now. Its incredible! I wonder if it will affect how the music turns out
That's so strange and true. Maybe not the exact same concept but yesterday I was on the guitar around 2 hours. Started to get tired. Was about to finish so I just layed on my back, still holding the guitar, I was randomly doing something without trying and not even looking at my hands or the fret board, and found myself play something I liked that I didn't come up with whilst paying attention the previous 2 hours. Ever happen to anyone?
yes...what happened with you, or so it sounds like to me, is that you entered the realm of "non-striving"...
It sounds strange, but facility and technique often get in the way of a genuine self expression. When people are "good" at doing something, they end up doing that thing instead of playing from an internal/emotional center. When you get rid of any intention of being "good" or "skillful", you often fall back into the innocence of just feeling sound and tone color. Now, the real trick is to balance mechanics/process with inspiration. That is where you achieve mastery.
@@brandonterzic Its interesting. It could purely be accidental or a fluke. Only ever happened a few times.
@@keiranj5149 welcome to the first ruptures of satori. ;)
Niandra LaDes And Usually Just A T-Shirt is the Most underrated Folk Album of All Time
I don’t think it’s quite folk; sorta Avant Garde-ish
Yep but listening to it, as if it was a Trad Bob Dylan style Folk album really shows you how immensely symphonic and creative it is@@MusicissuperiorEVHROX316
this is hands down my favorite album of all time. i can’t even count on two hands the amount of times i’ve taken a tab and just sat with this album. i try to recommend it to my friends and they just don’t get it and i don’t blame them either. but it’s the one for me.
I can't imagine listening to this on a tab.. OK Computer is one of my fav albums but it was too depressing for me. Really found Room on Fire by the Strokes to be incredible though.
Niandra LaDes is one of my favorite albums, too.
First time i listen to my smile is a riffle i couldnt stand the singing but now is my favorite song it makes me feel sad and nostalgic about times i didnt live
He sounds so good
Yeah. Very focused. His mind seams healed
my most favorite album ever
Your "Fruits" have Contributed to us all in ways that are Unimaginable, John. You are a true Artist in every sense of the Word and I am Grateful. Love n Respect from the (505)!
Love John so much.. he is an awesome human being. Sometimes the greatest minds are also the most tortured & mysterious. I hope your still doing well, John.
I could literally just listen to him talk about his music (or even just music itself on the whole & in general) FOREVERRRRRR
So now I know how it's pronounced
Soooo often Trying to hard kills legitimately brilliant creativity. My band write all of our best material off of live jams that just happen organically...then we go back and pick the best parts of the jams and build on those parts.
Cant top natural uninhibited creative flow
Thank you for sharing this, a gem of an interview clip.
I really needed to hear this I’ve been in a funk where I would give up on projects bc they didn’t sound like the music of my friends or the musicians I personally admire.
I love that album, John. Altho there's nothing you've done that I haven't appreciated, at least in some way. But all ur solo albums remain enjoyably digestible, listenable and diverse. All ur albums have distinct moods and associations that are very personal to me and have often facilitated emotional healing and awareness. Thanx for bucking the status quo and in being a Tru musician, have made music and sounds scapes that transcend the norm and evoke other dimensions beyond human consciousness and certainly popular musical and artistic culture... Love you, John! Eagerly anticipating the upcoming RHCP album...
PS love Anthony, flea and Chad, too!
Nicely said Mr Frusciante, looking forward to the new Chilli's album man. I feel Magick in the air and deep roots a rumbling.
It was never bad. Even in the performative stages of recording. His voice was an instrument. And Smile From The Streets You Hold... 🥵🥵🥵
classic John! 💜💜💜best advice ever 🙏
One of my favorite albums of all time!! my life is basically like life before niandra lades and life after
Many people say that its "too loud" or "annoying" and "gibberish", but this is probably my favorite album
If you liked Niandra, you'll like my album Anne
I agree
Case in point- Mellow Gold.
I now finally know how to properly pronounce Niandra LaDes 😅
I know right!🤣
@@victoriaseawatch5407 I had it so wrong for a few decades haha 🤣🤣
I've been insane where the time is slooooooooow.. I've been in pain hope it doesn't shoooooow.... Masterpiece 100%
wow greatly said John
Totally can relate. I always surprised myself when I was able to get in the mind space of just writing the worst shit ever, it gets me loose!
Such good advice
Daniel Johnston
i love every single of john's albums
Haven't listened to this album in 10 years, i remember the last time i listened to some of the songs the screams made my blood freeze.
His voice sounds so much better and clear compared to old interviews in the past when it seemed like he would be mumbling.
Love John!!!
Most favorite guitarist ❤️ inspired me for a new romance between my fingers and guitar lol. Most incredible soul. Wish to hug him one day, even though he doesn’t like any kind of contact with strangers
@@monicasaenz141 well lucky you 😅 I feel like he is not so happy when fans asking for photo or even just looking at him.. So I’m thinking what is the most accurate way to speak with him but not to be annoying. Of course in case if I ever meet him, what seems impossible or at least a miracle 😂
I could hear him the whole day lmao
Yeah baby. Nice.
I f’ing adore John Frusciante 🙌🏼💯
I have that album on vinyl, found it in a vintage music shop in SF and couldn’t believe people had no clue wtf it was! 😳 🤦🏻♀️ He’s just one of the most unique, interesting, admirable human beings- in my opinion ❤️ He’s a bad ass 🫶🏼 I love his steelo 💯 I’m a huge RCHP fan 💯❤️🙏🏼 Anthony Kiedis…..Still takes my breath away 😼
Much love from Cali, SD 💯🙌🏼🇲🇽
Courage to change the things we can.
I always thought it was niandra LaDes pronunciation was "laids" haha
This album is so incredibly unique. For a lot of artists, drugs are part of the creative process. In my opinion, this album encapsulates the surreal, dark and often nonsensical parts of an addiction. It's the most raw an album could ever be. It's like a battle between John's working consciousness and the heroin.
I'm just glad he got clean and made some of the most memorable songs of all time. If anything, this album is a direct insight into the haunting tribulations of substance abuse.
technically he recorded Niadra Lades before he got addicted to heroin, it was assembled and mixed/mastered during that period tho.
If you liked Niandra, i think you'll like my album Anne
Very talented artist. He feels the music and plays with emotion. Love the cheech and chong t shirt
And now we know how to pronounce Niandra LaDes.
🙌
My favourite record ever. Nothing ever came close!
Sometimes if you sit on an album overhyping it for over a year, it flops.
Let's hope it won't be the case for the next Chili Peppers release 😩
The best quitar of the new era
Thats why this guy is a fucking inspiration
I love niandrales.
Ive tried so hard to like this album. As a statement of intent & emotion its incredible ..... but Its SO personal, raw & painful I just cant relate to it. But yes ..... JF is clearly next level genius
What interview is this from?
John is so introspective. I feel like I could talk to him for hours if given the chance :)
this is a tough album to listen to. it sounds like someone i care about losing their mind. the singing/screaming, in particular, is the tough part to listen to.
what is this clip from?
He mentioned Syd Barret ❤❤❤❤ i love them both John and Syd
what interview/podcast is this from?
I could listen to him talk for hours
Nice shirt...
Artist gotta art y'knoe
"NIANDRA" is the greatest album ever.
He sounds like a fresh john
Running away into yo- running awayyy in- running awaayy
This was his shadow self era there were feelings inside he had to attend to.
Sure..! Check&Ching nice T-shirt,too!*Peppers
Frusciante speaking much better then before, 👏
When you’re so skilled that even when you try to make something sound bad it still sounds good lol
If you liked Niandra, i think you'll like my album Anne
I wish he could recreate this album because it is really good if he is not intoxicated back in the late 90s this would be a gem
METEU A CAMISA DO SEU MADRUGA NA MAIOR kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk
É uma camisa do Chaves?
I think john and flea make rhcp. Without them, it sucks. John has always been my fave. He's such a relatable, real, raw, authentic PERSON and grade A musician. My favorite guitarist ever.
So that’s how you pronounce it.
Syd Barrett & John frusciate

Love drugs
