It's really nice to have some lower end and budget friendly equipment reviews, I think it will capture more audiences because frankly the one that is looking for information is the beginner ones, veterans know what are they doing already. Some mix and match will definitely boost the viewer count. Great work Jake, love all of your videos, keep it up
I like that you did the cheaper bow . That's what most of us beginners are looking at . It would be great if you could work your way up in price with the different bows so we would know what bow is the best you can get for the cheapest price . Something that ticks all the boxes you are looking for and feels good enough so a beginner can keep the bow and use it for a long time .
Really enjoyed seeing an expert give a considered opinion on budget equipment, would love to see more.👍🏻🇬🇧
This was an awesome review! Thank you!
Great every man’s review! Keep it up!
Thanks Jake really enjoyed this video .
I really like this video and others with your reactions to different equipment. Bows etc. Thank you
An extremely helpful review for me, thanks Jake! Very new to the hobby and am interested in this specific riser for my first one. Definitely considering pulling the trigger on it.
Really nice to see reviews of affordable gear. As a beginner this really helps deciding what riser to go for. Really enjoying your content.
Good review, straight and to the point, good and not-so-good. Perfect timing as I'll this riser for my grandson, thank you.
Thanks for your great work! I like all of your videos and would be happy to see more productreviews. The Kinetic Sovren also seems to be a good choice when setup correctly. It is also a low budget riser.
Great video, thank you 👍
Be great to have a run down of your ‘top picks’ for beginner and intermediate risers / bows 🙏
Great info! I just subbed and already improving my shooting.
Really interesting review Jake, particularly when you're talking about bow feel... most of us wouldn't pick up on those subtle nuances so it's super insightful to watch.
I always go for feel. A bow setup that feels good and right will always be preferable to one that is tuned to perfection by the book. It's a mental sport after all where you need to be confident about your equipment 100%
Very interesting, I would love a review if their highend risers. Especially considering the finish and pocket design. With the long break for their production, and rasio silence, its refreshing to see any review of their lineup.
Appreciate the multiple camera angles in the scoring segment.
Jake, excellent review of the SF NEO. Please could you do one of the next riser up (the EVO) with both SF NEO (wood/glass) and SF EVO (carbon) limbs as this is what most newbie archers buying the EVO riser will start with. Also low poundage shoot would be good, so you're covering all the basis of beginners, intermediate/ club archers and world class experts like yourself. Terrific channel. I'm subscribed to dozens and dozens and this is one of the very best, no question. Thx.
Just getting into archery and my friend suggested your channel. So far I'm loving all the content and am trying not to feel overwhelmed with all the information ^_^
That being said, thanks for providing an honest review on a riser you wouldn't normally use. If you don't have it on your list yet, please add the Kinetic Vygo to future risers to review.
It's a very good riser indeed.
love the lower end reviews, perhaps barebow focused review like the kinetic vygo next?
Another great video, nice to see beginner gear can get good scores. Something I’ve been struggling with finding answers to is as you move up in distance, carbon arrows are recommended. Obviously it means more gear, but carbon arrows vs xx75, what changes as you move up in draw weight, these are the types of thing that are unclear, difficult to research with internet experts, and could definitely add up if you haven’t already wasted your money a few times.
great review jake, you should really test it on 70m!
I just noticed the NICE bamboo laminate table top 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼. Also, I own several (all used gear) W&W risers under the Flute brand
I still love my SF Forged+. SF has good mid tier gear and is great on a budget. Bow sounds great btw.
Again, a nice video, thanks for that.
I started my archer life with an older bow of Sebastian Flute, the brand name was SF and the dealer said to me, that the bow and limps are from w&w. That should be the reason for the good quallity.
I don't know, where this riser was built. But a friend of mine has an Sebastian Flute "EVO". The riser is fine, too. But I think the finnishing could be better. There are sharp corners , I mean they feel like they are sharp. I think they could have been rounded.
At the end it's a nice beginner riser for small money!
I'll take the guess and say somewhere between 285 and 295, before watching, great video keep it up
Armin Hirmer has a thing where those who buy new bows could send it to him first for him to review, then he sends it back to them when he's done.
I know with the pandemic, shipping prices have been quite high but maybe this is a way to bring in more equipment for review. Maybe less so for the lower priced stuff.
Good job man
I predicted 288 as the score. As Maxwell Smart used to say "missed it by that much". The riser looks like a good beginner riser. Better than my Cartel Fantom was, seemed to tune very quick for you too.
Guessing 282. Love this style of video by the way 👍
@22:35 No that probably aint pure luck. As you said you've set up a million bows. Wish setting up didnt usually take me for EVER ! Really enjoyed this one. Cheers.
Just bought this riser so was wondering how it would do in capable hands. Complete amateur here, so for money spent, I'm thinking I did OK. Very informative video, appreciate it. All the other stuff you do with it is going beyond my "paygrade". Fine tuning, clicker, audio feedback, feel feedback etc. I'm not even anywhere near there yet but I like how you present and I'm looking forward to watching a lot more of your stuff.
Instead of editing above I mean I'm a beginner! (not an amateur) I think another comment will help the ggog algo so slapping an extra one in
nice video thanks.
Thanks for that review. My favorite archery shop in Montreal offers the SF NEO riser & limbs and I am considering buying one. I wonder how the limbs you chose to test it make a significant performance difference. The NEOs are carbon on wood core. I am an intermediate shooter, pushing arrows on mid 60s vintage bows, around 100 arrows a day. I want to progressively increase draw weight while maintaining form, using ILF in the process.
Nice video !
You definitely have to try Kinetic stuffs !
I use the Kinetic Arios 2 riser for 2 years now with Kinetic Honoric limbs, and i think it's the perfect setup for beginners ! (Kinetic Valenz riser looks good too)
Kinetic Honoric and Palmaris limbs have one of the best value for money in this price bracket
I have the Arios2 as well. Similar price to this SF, and I think it seems better...
I recently bought my wife a kinetic valenz riser and honoric limbs. She's really happy with it and I think it's a great bow at that price (250 euros for riser and limbs). Looks great and shoots flawlessly...
Sebastian Flute, I didn't have a problem with their equipment. I still have an SF Forged plus riser sitting on the shelf. It was good piece for what it cost.
That is a Winwin product, and this is another factor call GK
@@Xinoball I know the SF Forged plus was manufactured by Win&Win. Matter of fact W&W is still using the SF name.
As for Sebastian Flute's new stuff, the EVO carbon limbs are pretty good.
This video really highlights that form, tuning, and technique are what really matters for archery performance. I've stubborn club members who keep buying high end equipment and still complain that their scores aren't improving, even though a few members and myself keep telling them that their form and tech needs working on. I guess the archery store person knows that they've found whales.
So this riser can obviously perform quite well, but I don’t like recommending risers that are cast or have weight limits. I’ve seen a couple crack, and that’s more than I’d like to see. This riser’s big brother, the Evo, is a shockingly nice riser for the price. It’s anodizing is as nice as that on my Xceed (and nicer than my GT), and it’s machined from a single billet, so no weight limit.
What I would love to see you tackle though is limbs vs risers in terms of how a bow feels and performs. Cheap limbs vs mid range vs high end on a cheap riser and a flagship riser. I’d also love to see more budget limb reviews. High end Hoyt, W&W, Uukha, Fivics, MK limbs will all perform really well, but what about the sub-$300 limbs most people are buying? WNS, Kinetic, Galaxy. The brands you see at local JOAD events.
Hi Jake, you know, with that sight block issue, you could also design a really fancy clicker plate, perhaps polished aluminium that bolts on and is held in place.by the sight block screws! 😊😊😊😊👍👍👍👍🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
This is my first riser and the one I am using now. The shopper recommended this one and I just brought it because I knew nothing at that time. The review is very helpful.
Will you recommend a high-end riser? Or some mid-end $500 is enough for a barebow shooter?
I think this is a great starter bow. I'd like to see you shoot it bare though.
I'd love a review of a Wiawis nano max only because I'm ridiculously in love with mine and it only cost me $395 almost good as new
I like to see the White Feather starling being reviewed
If you would/can please do video on the Topoint bows. They have 3 levels of risers and limb designs. I am interested in your reactions to them.
I’ll look into them.
I would love to see a decent review of the Galaxy Solstice 25 inch riser. I have not found one anywhere and it is on the same level as this Sebastien. I have agonized over which one I want for weeks now
While I understand why high end equipment costs as much as it does (+1% in the Olympics is a HUGE gap) the lower price equipment has the best price / quality ratio. It will pump great results. If there is a good archer behind the bow. It is 97% the archer anyways ;).
Great content bud. I presume the riser has limited draw weight because it is a cast piece instead of being forged or machined from a solid billet of metal. How much difference would there be with budget limbs fitted? Am i right in thinking that they are more important than the riser and therefore spending more money on? these limbs are £700/$900. Is it worth buying a cast riser or pay more for a machined one?
Hi, should I use all 4 screws of my WIAIWS WS700 sight-block to mount it on my WIAIWS ATF-DX which also has 4 bores for mounting the sight-block? Greetings from Germany
Reviews of the higher end bows from sf would be great
I own an iso pro and love it. I also think it looks a lot better than the blocky ascent
@@lupusverdi that’s cool, I’ve always liked the looks of that bow
I'm looking to buy either one of those risers. Honestly i like more that blocky look that the ascend has, but the price is way higher and there is not much info about it online. The iso pro looks great too and it's more affordable. Could you give me your thoughts about it please? To make a more informed purchase. Greetings from 🇨🇱
Is the tuning for performance book available in E-book format?
Add thin layer of neoprene at the limb touch point
Hi Jake, do you know where can I buy this riser in US with delivery to Vancouver?
Thanks
Also, for beginner sets, especially for barebow setup , I suggest using entry-level upgrade options. Like simple weights only etc. Something low-key badass.
PS. It's my second day with this riser. It’s my first set ever. Love everything right now.
Thank you!
i know to shorten the length of the video youve began speeding up things.. i just would like to add that ive actually learned alot by just hearing you talk during things like the fast
fwd of the video on the limb alignment.. not criticizing you just giving you viewer feed back
you should try Junxing H7 riser it looks like xceed
is it compatible with other limbs such as hoyt etc?
I don't think the Sebastian Flute risers are still sold in Europe. They had a restart with these risers, if I'm not mistaken, but no one bought them. At least JVD Archery and SSA Archery have stopped carrying them, and they're being sold at great discounts.
It's a brand conflict of recognition. SF line is owned by W&W (although they call it Super Feel now) but they can't copyright Sebastian Flute's name. Someone is eager to use SF name recognition for themselves. Most people read SF and think it's SF Archery new stuff to the detriment of Sebastian
do the kinetic vygo when you get a chance... i would send you mine but i cant stop shooting it lol....
Did you not want to use your sight mounted clicker?
Do anyone know wherer the riser made in?
Kan yue test Nishikawa Sakura SH-25 raiser one japanese raiser i shot Nisishawa 2880 in old time
getting myself a first olympic style bow 30# at 28,5 do you have any arrow reqimendations that i should get, i wanted a easton inspires but someone told me that does arrows are not that good to shot outside...any thought
Take a look at Black Eagle x-impact. They are much more budget than for example Easton X-10 (you really don't need those as a beginner) but group really nicely when tuned appropriately. Plus you start with "good arrows" that have the potential to accompany you on your journey for quite some time
Nock and point combo for those, i think i would prefer more on the slower side setup since im in a wheelchair and a fast arrow is a problem since i max out my sight and arrows still overshoot the target at 18m, by a lot
And im looking into getting sanlida x10 bow if my fundriser goes as expected
Can we shoot bare bow with it
Im thinking a clean 293
my guess, you score 285
but while i know it's a $180 riser.. but how much are those limbs worth?
Seems all the SF risers have issues with the sight tapping.
Can you please review the Hoyt Arcos riser?
I would happily give up a kidney or two to somehow get a South African made Gray AIX for you to review.... One day when Im all grown up 😜😁
I know someone who may have one. I’ll ask.
@@JakeKaminskiArchery that would be beautiful mate!
Wns vantage ax25 riser
Jake could you please test WinWin AXT riser with Hoyt limbs?
19:07 😳
My prediction is a solid 200
I totally agree with you; lower end bows for newbies didn't feel as refined as high end bows. At the very basic level all bows can shoot straight and hit the yellow at the hands of good archers, but the feel is what separates the bow apart.
Timestamps on the video would be nice. Other than that a very thorough review even with minor details .... very nice.
290
If I had to predict your score, I would.make a.guesstimate at 293, but you mustn't tske my guesses too seriously, after all, I AM just a bit of English!
👍👍👍😊😊😊🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
What DOES that mean anyway? I have only ever seen you use it, and Cliff Clavin from Cheers?
BTW, once you said to tell.you.if we saw any changes in your form?
Well.the.only change I can see is that your form looks consistent, but you look more relaxed in it, if that makes any sense?
To put “English” on something is to curve it. It’s a billiards term for putting spin on the ball making it act differently then a straight on shot.
279
292
287
Edit: whoah!!!!! I win!!
287, because of the too short clicker plate.
Spot on! 🤣
283
My guess: 287
lol I was right
I guess a 287
That was a real estimate - no cheat. Just 50 years of experience. I have shot Hoyt, SF, Yamaha, Petron, Mybo, Bear, WinWin, etc , and the SF risers are great starter/mid bows. Just not quite Hoyt/WW level.
Limiting draw weight is a very bad idea, and obviously means the metal or components can’t handle it…
The accessories cost more than the riser itself
Man you making these videos way too long.
Maybe you have the attention span of a rat
I appreciate the thoroughness, as you never know when you'll pick up something useful that you weren't expecting. And you can skip forward if you find a section uninteresting.
Better to be too long than too short imo
Speed it up, ask for time stamp, etc.
Nothing wrong with a long video if it's informational and good to watch?
My guess? 292 - 22X…
…
🫤 287! Not bad really!
Good job - great video!
284
287
eyyy lets go 😂
