Benny's Custom Works brings you everything automotive!
Weekly Episodes right here on UA-cam, as well as the shop with new & used performance parts for most Japanese makes and models.
Benny makes this stuff look like a walk in the park. Please consider the risk factors and talk to a qualified mechanic, as well as a psychologist, if you’re thinking of attempting anything you’ve seen on the show.
Take into consideration your safety, the safety of others, as well as your vehicle’s best interests- warranty, etc.
Unless you’re trained & qualified to do so, we don’t recommend modifying your vehicle in any way. Stickers don’t add HP unless installed correctly.
Definitely needs an 80’s digital dash theme uploaded to the Haltech!
Everyone Needs a Benny in their life to help out.
That wrench (spanner) placement was diobolical!
No 10 hour loop of the hammer hits? Come on Gian!
Aye bro wtf are our 10hr loops at 😂
What a contrast with the new 3D printed surround, new screen and the halfpipe @ 9:38 minutes, love it
That Japan video might not have gotten the views without all the work behind it, but people might also have just wanted to see more Dave.
Getting old differential bushes out is quite the skill. Many overcook the cut and eat into the subframe.
"It's like a real life PNG" Peak Gian chats
Must have been really warm for Gian to be in a singlet
Take the cresta back home to Japan and road trip it for nostalgia sake
@@mattfisher4256 I want to do this.
The new Haltech in the Creata looks awesome !
100% recipro on the diff bushes. The days of the air hacksaw are long gone
Paused this to watch the 7 Second Cresta video. 👍
The xbox scanner yep its a thing but we don't need the actual xbox though. Benny we just use the Xbox 360 Kinect Camera which we plug into our PC and use 3d scanning software to generate an image. Only thing is the smaller the object the harder it is to get an accurate scan and capture all of the details due to the low resolution of the camera. This process is actually showed in the TV show The Big Bang Theory. But the Kinect is a good starting point for a hobbyist to get into 3D scanning :) hope this clears it up for you :)
That Toyota Cresta Haltech Dash looks amazing Well Done Benny Fixing up Ford FALCOON Engine 👏👏👏👏
Driving in Japan earlier this year, can confirm that people treated 80km/h as an advisory. I found myself speeding a bit, just to match the flow of normal traffic.
Na man, the 7sec pass video was epic :D
Benny the press! 👌 28:44
31:15 I think it got mentioned in one of the previous vids but your BF had a BA cradle/diff swapped into it. Offset hole centre bush was only on BA and BF/FG went to the centred hole type. We would call them steel bushes (BA) and plastic bushes (BF/FG) in the dealer world - I would've done at least a hundred sets of diff bushes in my time, I love doing them 😂
@@anthonyangelovski3039 there you go. Thanks for the info
We’ve already seen the cresta in Japan (unofficially) would love too see it in Sweden 🇸🇪 for there drag week.
@@andrewkirk8687 also keen, big $$$$ to do a euro trip however

I could imagine mate.
has any Aussie car been there to race yet ?
Its the tricks that make shit look easy that make the legend.
Great video. Thanks, Benny and Gian.
That will teach Benny for quickly just adding a bit of Falcon content.
Finally some music
Video stats just goes to show the power of thumbnails and why they always have pictures of people on them. Seen similar things on other channels where they have Cleetus in the thumbnail. Literally doubles the views.
Great looking head tidy up, full on flash
That dash is so sick
And reverse camera.
@@lowstandards5269 yeah, it sure is. Reverse camera coming soon :)
The blinker sound is an ADR requirement BTW.
R1234YF is the new a/c gas, but there's a lot of push back from manufacturers to use it as it's more expensive and volatile compared to R134A
FYI you can use the fueltech touch screen dash with gloves on.
Yabba Dabba do looks awesome
Seems that Gian dodged the pain of this diff job.... it's only fair you buy dinner & beers for Benny.
Reverse camera will come on when on the trans brake tho? Which presumably covers up any info you may want to see such as boost. I'm sure it can be set to off when trans brake button is pressed but still worth thinking about
@@icebear_racing no it won’t , we use a linear position sensor and my reverse lights are switched via the PD16 so that they can come on when ever we tell them. Also the trans brake solenoid is controlled via the PD16 for the same reason
Apart from The deathy-ness 😂
6sec plus a 2 in front of the 6 for original engine with a 6 second 60ft
Or was the Japan video such a hit because it had Marty in the thumbnail and MCM hadn’t released anything about Japan yet…
I personally much prefer the 7 second video to the Japan trip. I’m here for learning, builds, etc
Yeah benny always helping the less 😂
Maybe Gianne could catch a boat to japan?
Ya Hammer swings looked like a 4iron off the tee 😂👌
@@tonga007 lots of compression :D
😂Low stinger ✌🏾
Bring back the Pajero !
fwiw the B series IRS is litterallly just a Mondeo rear end with a diff shoved in it haha. Its most likely why the diff is such a prick to get to.
@@nismofreak33 this would make sense.
The "xbox thing" is the xbox Kinect sensor, the stupid body motion camera they tried to push on everyone. it sucked for games, but turns out it had great sensors in it for 3d scanning. plug em into your computer, use some free software, and you're goin.
Haha, who else came to the comments at 9:15 just to see if Dave made a comment.....??
Gian trying to fill while Benny is working at actual mechanic speed not UA-cam filming speed is hilarious. Where you just running round pointing the camera at whatever happens for 10 seconds?
Yewww
No weldy?
@@Bal4Designs it’s already welded, was from my BF Before the m86 went in.z
28:47 Evidence of golf.
Club speed training :D
Just do to John what the A-Team used to do to MrT before a flight. He'll forgive you.
Who's John?
Benny! Sell me your old IC7 dash! I could use it in my 180 and it would be cool to have a piece of the Cresta!
Feedback on the Cresta review vs the Japan trip. I've been watching you since day 1 so I know the whole Cresta history. The Japan trip is new. I started watching the Cresta history but there was no significant new content in the first few minutes so I stopped watching. Japan was all new so I watched it all.
I was talking about the 7 sec ep, not the cresta history story
Make Gian travel...via plane
You should reach out to the trimmer come fabrication wizard her self Jasmine Green
@@bonesbyne9078 true. She’s awesome. I might try to catch her at Summernats
cicada noise?.....
If they missed the 7 second Cresta vid, it's their loss.
6 second pling plong.....
I'm with Gian, i don't do Planes.

I want Gian to say "I ain't gettin on no plane, fool"
Air condition - Gas doesnt just leak out, its not a bbq gas bottle that you just regas and it's fine. If its leaked out you need to fix the leak than regas it.... That information is wrong what Ben said. Also it is ilegal In Australia just to regas cars when know it has a leak, Arctik can fine you for it.
I do say that o rings degrade over time however which is where most leaks come from. I also don’t have an ac ticket so don’t know every in snd out re AC
Mechanic here, the gas is so thin it evaporates through the hosematerial itself, the newer stuff is much better but the old r134a pretty much empties itself in a few years. You should also service your A/C yearly, just like an engine it wants an oil change. The o-rings also degrade over time but that's a sizeable leak that'll just empty the whole thing in a really short time.
