By lengthening the chassis you improve high speed stability but you sacrifice slight amount of nimbleness and also by mounting the engine lower and Infront of the rear axle you massively improve handling.
love it!!! you will need to revalve/respring the rear shocks though. BUT..... real talk, if you dont go to a motorcross track or better yet a SxS track and crush every single jump im unsubbing JK.
Now You are getting somewhere, doing big things now.....you got the skills to build some awesome toys man......put that gift to work , build away.......heres a tip when it comes to motorcycle powered carts.....trim that oil pan to get it flat and convert it over to a Dry sump oiling system....then you can mount the engine upright......makes a world of difference.
This is the way to go. I race 600cc micro sprints. Lots of people use the gsxr engine. They make cut down oil pans. You can make one just cut your hump and change your pickup.
Great idea. But it seems like you haven't seen the power SxS are making today. Hell SxS blog has a RZR with a 2JZ making 1100hp! But either way that kart will overload the Pucker Factor. : )
Glad to see you finally found the safety cover for the anglegrinder. I cant seem to find my one and i have the exact same Dewalt 😅 the buggy will be awsome 🤘🏼
In itself, it's awesome that you're using the 600 engine, taking this in a direction that will allow you to compete. However, it's honestly quite disappointing to see that you aren't moving forward with the CR500 engine on this project. Don't get me wrong, this kart will still be sick! It just would have been refreshing to see a cross kart powered by something other than a sportbike engine. I still think you should build a cross kart using the CR500 engine in the future, rather than putting it back into a 2-wheeled machine. Again, good luck and I'm looking forward to seeing the finished product!!
@@Wontreplyeverdontbother No need to get defensive. Obviously you didn't catch the fact that I still think this kart is cool and support the project. It was a constructive way of saying the 500 engine was preferred, without any distasteful comments or namecalling.
John, would you be able to measure the Gixxer engine from the sump to the top of the carbs??? I'm considering turning my racing quad into a street legal reverse Trike.

Your welds are looking really great! Practice makes perfect. Those rear hubs are super nice fabrications! Nice to see your shop getting better outfitted. Great Job Sir! As Always, May God Bless you and yours!
The GSXR 1k engine in my dwarf car is mounted near factory pitch.. although the only major requirement for changing the pitch of the engine is making sure the sump is still sitting in the oil and that the oil isn't being aerated by the crank. The degree isn't as critical as you think, but I wouldn't suggest a 90 degree vertical mount without changing up the oil pan and oil pickup design.
@@VasilyBuilds it's definitely a wild little ride lol. If you ever need to look over it to get an idea of how to set your kart up, I live about 10-15min from the vtuned shop
Hey young blood I like all of your vids, but can i make a suggestion? What about putting a swing arm on the croos cart? So you can add springs and shocks for a softer ride.
super cool man, that's probably the best thing you could do with that 600, getting off of that death trap!! can't wait to see you get this thing dialed-in!!
I was just referred to your channel You don't seem to care about material costs just what you want from your desires. God I love that! Build to your heart's desire!
If you put some dishwashing liquid and water in a spray bottle and prespray the area your welding it will stop weld splatter from sticking and it’s cheaper then buying it. Cooking spray also works but leaves the metal oily...bad when you want to paint the frame
I commented on your post about dry sump. Also if you want two step I’d recommend something like the MSD sport bike launch master, and a quick shifter hands down the Annitori for a stand alone but if your doing a fuel tuner I’d recommend dynojet power commander v and you can add their quick shifter to it.
This thing is coming out so epic. Our next build is gonna have IRS and this is the exact approach to rear spindles I was envisioning. Bearing sleeve and tabs. I've already got the Miata parts on order haha
Not gonna lie, vasiliy and C&C are both making homemade spindles and i gotta say vasilys be lookin better lol you sir have a large future of engineering and fabrication in your future if you chase it.
Nice engine choice, great build. You’re now putting a lot more power in the back end, why don’t you look into the Edge Products Barracuda MK2 for some inspirational ideas for the rear end. The drive train sits in a box that the arms bolt onto and the engine sits in front of the box. Super strong and easy to design something similar for your purposes on CAD then laser cut and weld together like a puzzle.
I agree with the CR500 going into a bike again, hopefully it's another rebuilt 500 frame.
