I change my motor every 20k instead of doing an oil change because oil changes from bmw is too expensive, won't let them rip me off. XD all jokes aside good video for people getting into our platform!
Be careful with the brake fluid. Brake fluid typically doesn't burn or evaporate. If your brake fluid is low that means your pads are low. If you top the fluid off, when you go to replace your pads the fluid will spill out because it's overfilled. Granted you don't want it to get below the minimum level because it can suck air into the system.
Awesome bro! This is very helpful. I just topped off the coolant tank, the main tank is below Min level but no warning go off yet. Got keep an eye for spark plug, as my 340i is reaching 60k miles. Thanks again and keep it up bro!
And of course the most common problem.... Coolant loss from the main tank. BMW will chalk it up to a bad cap.. Eventually they will do a pressure test, find no issues, and give maybe give you a new cap if you fight with them a bit.... Months later you will be right back to square one; fighting the never ending battle vs the coolant drinking poltergeist.
Love the videos bro keep it up👌 i wanna throw my input of what ive ran since i just passed 100k, im running a stg 2 MHD since 40k. My go to for oil change is 0w20(castrol or amsoil +mann filter) 5-7k mi depending if im doing pulls on the weekends thankfully so far no oil leaks or valve ticks and ill drive from norcal to socal every 4 months no issue, honestly best car ive ever had plus getting 35mpg on the freeway 🔥
Awesome video. Always coming with the info we need. I’m at this point exactly. About to do plugs and coils, trans, diffs, transfer case, and filters. Then stage 2 here we come 😎
BMW Europe has standard oil change stated at 30,000 KM - 18750 Mile. That will vary slightly as per individual driving but not by much. Far too long between oil changes at 30,000 KM 18750 Mile.
Will BMW reflash my car or say anything if Im not under their warranty anymore but still have them do a 100 point inspection on the car? Im OTS stage 2 + 93
I have a question, i have a g30 540i x drive with 88k miles, previous owner changed spark plugs every 2nd oil change, brake fluid changed, oil filter. Do you ever have to change the timing chain in the engine?
I'm having an issue with mine i can't seem to find out why the car stutters out of nowhere i recently changed coils and plugs gapped to .22 on bm3 stage 2 91 tune . I was checking parts taking them off and found out the maf valve is stuck open can that be rhe issue or is that normal any suggestions ?
Nice video ! I currently dont own a 340i or any sort of b58 yet but im currently looking into a 2016 bmw 340i with 42k miles for 30k. Would that be a good deal? Im coming from the mk7 gti platform and it seems like these b58s are ridiculously easy to make over 400whp with very minimum mods if im not mistaken
Awesome video, thanks. I have been wondering lately if I need to decrease service intervals on my 440i as I increase the power. Currently on BM3 stage 2, and XHP stage 3. 45k mileage and always serviced on time. Seems with 430bhp I'm safe to continue as if it was stock
Very informative videos man, thanks for making them. So you are saying that we should stick to 0W-20 even when tuned ? I was thinking of running 0W-30 or 5W-30, because 0W-20 seems too thin, its like water even cold. Currently I am stock and thinking of going stage 2 MHD.
I think Best 6-8tkm oil change depends on how you drive. gearbox oil every 60-80tkm , diff oils 60tkm , transfer case oil 60-70tkm , then there shouldn’t be a problem …

I found them to be slightly more expensive than a regular ford tbh.

By giving me a written manual, they're assuming I can read.
Joke's on them, I watch your videos!
Thanks!

I change the oil every 3-5k daily use 7-10k miles a year

New cap fixed mine perfectly and it was the aux tank. Most people find a leak in the heat exchanger but there are So many different causes.

still own the car? any problems?
Thank you man. How t preset the maintenance interval for spark plugs after changing them ? Same question for air filter etc ...
you cannot change it. just keep up with mileage/dates on your own.

What about the 6MT manual transmission?
Bro thank you for making this!
Perfect 👌. Thanks as always
Informative video as always bro!!

if they do any work on your car then they typically update it. you can ask them not to flash any software updates.
Very valuable video 👌 Thanks

Not typically unless something indicates a problem, like timing chain rattle
why do you have 2 different charge pipes

If the sensor is bad yes

I’d say yes, to good deal. And yes very easy to make that power goal. I came from a mk6 gti and love my 340
Sounds about right. And yes i came from a mk5 gen 1 TSI. A lot of former Vag owners in the B58 world.
1:10....almost woke up the kids.... ive never laughed so hard in my life before.....lmao
glad to help

I would change your Sparkplugs earlier then normal. Maybe a 10,000m earlier.
still have the car any problems?
@ViisionPvP no issues mate. Got the spark plugs changed a month ago and all running perfectly.
@@f36_garage71how long have you been xhp tuned have you changed the trans fluid?
@@jvfishingss I've been running stage 3 XHP for 2 years with zero issues. No trans fluid change. I only engage stage 3 when in sport+ mode though.
Any guidence on the drive belt and tensioner
Inspect for cracks/damage and replace when needed
What about timing chain/tensioner
Not really an issue
@@kern417 thanks I’m almost at 100k miles and not sure what I should do aside from basic maintenance
@@johnnygarcia8252 typically chains are very reliable and if they stretch they'll show signs, i.e. chain rattle.
Notice you never said anything on the coolant other than checking levels. Do those need to be changed?
Honestly i don't unless i find it to be contaminated
“Relic”. 😂😂😂😂

All of them work as long as they meet BMW specifications
If I'm doing around 2k miles per year in my car (100ron fuel). Would you still recommend doing an oil change every year?
An 80 euro oil change once a year will never hurt
yes. it still breaks down over time. and especially if you're taking a lot of short trips, it's a good idea to change it.

You forgot the most important thing 😫 you don’t want your cabin air filter to blow that’ll total your b58
Bro. Please. My reputation is on the line.
Yea this happened to me and my car got totaled. 🤦♂️
