- A Cleveland woman who pled guilty to killing her 3-year-old son last year will be sentenced on Monday morning.

The sentencing comes one month after 31-year-old Timmeka Eggleton pled guilty to charges of murder, felonious assault, and endangering children. As part of a plea deal, a more serious charge of aggravated murder against Eggleton was dropped.
Eggleton's case dates back to June 14, 2023, when witnesses found 3-year-old Curtis Lee James Witcher unconscious inside a stroller at a Family Dollar. He was eventually pronounced dead at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center.
The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's Office ruled the 3-year-old's death to be a homicide from blunt force injuries. Eggleton was arrested days later after officials say she lied about what happened.
Last August, Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Judge Brendan J. Sheehan ruled Eggleton was not mentally competent to stand trial and ordered her to be taken to Northfield for treatment. Sheehan, however, also declared Eggleton's condition to be "restorable," meaning she could still be tried if her mental state could be reasonably improved within a year. On Nov. 30, the court found Eggleton was able to face charges.

I feel for the foster Mom, who wanted to adopt him. I felt every word! What gets me is the impact statements from the blood relatives. Where were you when this baby was in foster care??? Y’all need to sit down!!! If you had so much love and cared for that poor baby why was he in the system?? I listen to a little of what they were saying and went straight to the foster parents statement. I could not stomach the “family” statements!!! You didn’t show up when he was alive but you’re showing up now! Make me understand!!! I’m sorry for your loss but you too must share in the guilt. It takes a village and that baby had none!

Nothing's going on in Cleveland. That's the problem. It's a pitiful place. Poverty is rampant, so probably stress and mental illness as well. People are not happy, and they take it out on their children.😢
Look at how far away her lawyers are sitting from her. They can't even stand to be near her. She is disgusting.... She deserves life in prison!!!!!!

What ever crime, inmates have a code, you never hurt a child, no one should ever get out after ending a child, it should always be, life without parole. 😪
My heart breaks for this family. They truly deeply loved this little guy and I can't even imagine losing a child in this fashion. 😭

It's so sad that there are babies born to people who don't really care about them. Even Family members don't really know the child And love the child. It's like a A tiny life that never really knew Real love and Affection. So extremely sad.
Thank god for people who take children and do love them and take care of them. The foster mother is clearly heartbroken. And I do believe that she loved the child. The judge should have left the child with her And her family.
