The Ed Sullivan Show was a television variety program that aired on CBS from 1948-1971. For 23 years it aired every Sunday night and played host to the world's greatest talents. The Ed Sullivan Show is well known for bringing rock n' roll music to the forefront of American culture through acts like Elvis Presley, The Beatles, and The Rolling Stones. The entertainers each week ranged from comedians like Joan Rivers and Rodney Dangerfield, to Broadway stars Julie Andrews and Richard Burton, to pop singers such as Bobby Darin and Petula Clark. It also frequently featured stars of Motown such as The Supremes, The Temptations, Stevie Wonder and The Jackson 5. The Ed Sullivan Show was one of the only places on American television where such a wide variety of popular culture was showcased and its legacy lives on to this day.

People who were young teens in the sixties be proud. You lived an existence that future generations can only wish for.
The world wouldn't be so messed up. If today kids and adults had the values we had then. They would be dancing instead of stealing.
I love these old live performances. No crazy lights, or choreographed dancers, or backing tracks or even metronomes. Just four well dressed guys with their instruments and voices making great music.
The sixties were such a special time
I am 76 years of age. In my opinion, no band could do a song better than the Searchrrs. Their songs were done almost to the point of perfection. LOVE POTION #9 and Needles And Pins were great in the 60s and are still great today. Great sound!!!
Great era. Straight on great music. No fancy light shows to distract. No computers to adjust sound. No stupid theatrics. Just four great musicians with respectful clothes and super voices. The 60's had real talent. Hard working, decent, respected musicians. Conventional and standout models of proper behaviour.
Back when you and your grandmother could watch Ed Sullivan and even if she didn't like the music, she'd say, "Aren't they nice looking boys!" Different times.
All of them dressed classy and well groomed... What happen to the people and the music nowadays ...
Good music by a clean cut band. Unlike the freak shows of today.
Needles and pinzah!
"the best band to come out of Liverpool..." -John Lennon (1964)
Ed Sullivan's show was on Sunday nights, passed by bedtime, BUT my parents let me stay up because of all the cool British bands!!
Oh mann.....sooooo toll.❤❤❤❤❤
We will never recapture the splendor of the 50s - 90s again. 😢
Back in the day if you made it onto Ed Sullivan you were considered to have made it
Absolutely adored Chris Curtis. The heartthrob of my teenage years. Was heartbroken when I heard he’d died. Very underrated musician. Rest in Peace my darling.
No lip sync, just pure talent. Song was written by Sonny Bono.
Good times……the birth of rock and roll and its society changing effects……simpler times….people were different… then there is today……what happened….?
Brings back great memories of teenage years in the 60s. We were lucky to have been a teen in the 60s!!!
