Thanks! I just realized I need to do this. I got my tractor in Dec of 2018 and assumed I had the new one - never really saw photos of what the "old" one was.

Look at the serial number plate by the right front tire if the build date is between June 2015 till April 2018 it involved in this issue.

My mounting bracket broke off and destroyed my radiator. Wish they would have notified us of the known issue to avoid this happening to anyone.

Thanks for the vid - just starting the process on my early 18. That last nut isn’t extra though. :). That last nut is supposed to nest into the hex end of the bracket and serve as a bearing surface for the tightening nut. You’ll be able to see that in the instruction docs you showed.

Thanks, seeing dealer, mine broke after I did the 1st Maintenance at 40 hours on a 2016 model. Been Cajun rigged for 5o hours.

I asked my dealer in Cameron about it and they gave me a kit. They said they would replace it under warranty but I did it myself. Worked out good because I was going to replace the filters and it came with new one's so I saved on that

I got my parts for free to and I'm outside my warranty. Good way to save the cost of a filter LOL

I have a 2013 1025R dealer said my engine doesn’t require to change it

I know that this is an old video, but... Are you sure that the air filter indicator will work with the new filters? Since the air filter cartridge has changed size the calibration might be off. Either saying good when it's really bad or bad when it's fine. I AM going to use a torque wrench on those nuts.

My rubber strap broke for the 3rd time in 200 hours. Every time replaced under warranty. Finally talked to my dealer the last time it broke 3 days ago and they are getting me the new kit. They are also coming to my house to replace it. They said it includes 1/2 hour of labor.

Yep... My dealer said they can do it or I can do it. I like doing my services work so I did it my self and figured it would make a good video.

I watched a video about this a couple nights ago. Last year that mounting bracket had cracked & broke & i didnt know it. Found it during a "Lookie Loo" inspection. Pulled the assembly off, took off the bracket, went down to my local J.D. & picked up a new bracket & put everything back together & rechecked everthing for the proper fit. I definatly want to git this new way of airc leaner mounting kit. I do like how this new kit is mounted sidways & the top of the engine is clear of all that crap. Makes the engine compartment area look more beefy or handsome!!!
Are we allowed to use the same size of air filters inside this new canister as to the old ones at all??? Tractor Safe my friend. God bless.
    P. S., . . . . . . "CLICK CLICK" had my chuckling, lol

🤣LOL Do not tell Deere about my "CLICK CLICK" they may cancel my warranty.
No, unfortunately its a shorter filter and the old style filters are too long to fit.

@@masterofeverything6468 Nawwwww. . . . i aint gonnuh say nuthin. "What happens on the road stays on the road" as us truckers say, lol lol lol. Was that new sideways kit very expensive??? Im wondering if a guy can take the "old style" kit & mount it sidways up front??? Im gonnuh have to look at that on my tractor to see if it would be possible. My rubber hold down strap broke on me last year. Couldnt figure out what the "tingle linging" under the hood wss all about, so shut everything down & did another "lookie loo". . . . . BINGO, found the broken strap. . . GRRRRRR! Tractor safe my friend. Watched ya blown snow on your friday morning 4:30am video last night. Why so early??? be safe

@@truckerray7533 Call your dealer and ask them about "Product Improvement Programs #:18LV188" most dealers are doing it for free. I didn't pay anything for the parts.
4:30am just works out this year for me. Got to get stuff done, and I can't wait for normal people to wake up.

Yeah, I am curious as to what you find and come up with. Later this year or next I think I am finally going to get a 2025R or another Skid Loader again.... I need something. Rather have the Skid Loader in several ways. But a little tractor could help out when I go do snow on other properties besides the house I live in. I flip houses so if I have to go do snow and they have a sidewalk I would rather not use a walk behind snowblower. Like the 2025R over the 1025R for myself and I do like that it is narrow enough for sidewalks as well as for my other needs for it......

For your air restriction indicator, screw 1/4" hose barb fitting into the air cleaner and mount the indicator wherever it is convenient and just run fuel or vacuum line to it. Simple enough if the indicator has mounting a hole. If not, I have drilled a hole into a mounting bracket, pushed a hose barb halfway through and brazed it to the bracket. Screw the indicator onto the welded fitting, connect the hose and you're good to go.

The nut is not a spare look at your instruction sheet. It goes on the top of the wire loop.

There is quite a bit of leverage/moment arm to where the air filter is vs. the valve cover. The engine in the 1025R is not a particularly smooth running engine, so a lot of vibration, if the harmonic/resonance frequency gets to the right point, it really won't matter a lot how heavy the bracket is. The original bracket was quite a bit lighter and was a frequent failure item. JD didn't really look at cause in their first 'fix', just the symptom, so made the new bracket twice as thick heavy. That did nothing really for the vibration related breakage BUT did allow a lot of the 'load' to transfer to the valve cover. The problem was a rigid mounting to the engine (valve cover) combined with a relatively stiff connection through the engine shroud for the air intake. The heavier/stiffer bracket just created a mix of breakages between brackets and valve covers. The bracket was a nuisance, but the valve cover was potentially catastrophic and was for several owners.
It looks like with the fix 2.0, someone actually looked at the cause and realized they needed to get that load and rigid/semirigid connections between the air filter cannister and the engine and engine shroud off the valve cover/bracket combination and moved to something that could isolate the air filter load from the engine/engine vibration.
That is my assessment of the trajectory of this issue. YMMV.

You might be glad you changed it! Mine has 160 hours on it and it just cracked the rocker cover to crap, about the size of a silver dollar

I still think it comes down to maintenance I had 250+ hours on when I change it. The only reason I did is so I would stop having people flipping out in the comments

That is not a valve cover. It is a air intake cover look it up on yamaer web sight that is a straight line into you air intake run the motor to long and it will blow you engine.
