That button is to slam the bolt forward after it locks back from the last round. After your last round, the bolt will lock back. Load another mag, press that button and it will chamber another round so you can get back in the fight. 👍
I know I'm a bit late, but for anyone watching this that is thinking of getting this gun, I 100% recommend it. Bought it on my 18th birthday and it's been going strong for 6 months now. Easy to break down, clean, and upgrade parts just as I would expect from any AR15. The only jam I have had with this gun is when I forgot to oil the bolt carrier group after wiping it dry (completely my mistake.) Otherwise, it has run absolutely flawlessly! I have upgraded the pistol grip, stock, and handguard so far! Best budget rifle that will still get you all the functionality of a higher end rifle.
On a serious note I just have to say always remember to keep your finger off of the trigger until you are pointed down range and ready to fire. I'm not passing judgment but as a member of the firearm community we all have to have each other's backs for safety. Thank you for your review and I appreciate what you do on your Channel.
Also just checking the chamber for a bullet is not the way to be safe, some will shoot at a target to be sure, even once it’s checked put it back on the safety position and not the fire position especially if you keep your finger on the trigger, only have your finger on the trigger unless your ready to fire.
When you chamber a round pull that charging handle with more authority. Pull it all the way back let it go. You shouldn't have to use that forward assist every time. I just put together a new palmetto state Armory AR and I'm just excited as you are.
Keep your finger straight and off the trigger until you are ready to fire, please teach good gun safety. That button is the bolt release you should really learn about a weapon before you take it out and fire it
That is exactly why accidents continue to happen. People are too lazy to learn the weapon before using it. Not only should they read the manual AND learn each function of their weapon, but also learn the proper terminology of every part of it. Of course first and foremost, they should learn proper gun safety and handling, before doing anything at all.
The little button on the left side of the rifle is known as a beaver tail in the military. As the previous comment said it is a bolt carrier release to chamber a fresh round once the mag is empty.
Button is the charging for bolt catch to load your first round into the chamber., it’s a good practice to use your safety button before you check your chamber. And then keep your safety on till you are ready to fire. So it goes, aim, take safety off, then fire, once done shooting, press safety back on.
Good review on a great AR15 tried and true and proven over a decade of use by thousands of satisfied customers. Man I would be excited too. This dude was flapping his arms around so much I though he was going to take off and fly away. Would also recommend that you take a course in firearms safety.
I bought this same Rifle about 2 years ago. I like my Rifle very. There many like it but this one is mine. The Rifle is American made. It will shoot. The .223 ammo or the 5.56 ammo. It just says give me more. Ever had any issues or jams. Stay safe thanks for your videos. Peace.
Great video man! I bought mine the week of Christmas last year! I've got the same handguard on mine with a CTR stock! also changed the grip! Just wish ammunition wasn't so crazy expensive! Godspeed!
While you’re correct, my first AR was an M16. Back in the 70s, they didn’t really teach us that in Basic. They did have us on the range in a ton of crap weather, though. 😃
You aren't going to find an AR chambered in .223 Rem. You can find em in .223 wylde which also runs 5.56. You cannot run the gun with the dust cover closed My first AR was also a M&P sport 2. It is a good basic rifle. It is definitely over-gassed. But that will make it reliable. I chose to slow my action down a bit and it runs much smoother. H2 buffer. M16 bolt carrier for the added weight and it still runs everything I feed it but a much smoother running gun. I added a Hogue over-mold grip and stock and that creepy gritty mil-spec trigger was replaced with a rise armament single rage duty trigger. Oh and you can kill the receiver rattle with some jp oversized pivot and takedown pins My M&P sport 2 has the feel of a rifle costing 2x as much
How do you have a gun channel with sponsors but don't know what the bolt release is? Not trying to hate, but there's only 2 'buttons' on an AR... plus the forward assist.
Looking at getting into the AR scene again. The sport 2, radical forearms, diamondback are all possibilities. For this that have this rifle would you still recommend it for a durable, dependable starter?
The button you asked about is the bolt release, also when you charge the first round you need to pull the charging handle all the way back and let it slam closed if you do that you should not need to use the forward assist.
@@JimyOfficial yes definitely. It’s been a week since I ordered it. They’re going to be hard by to come by. You can just feel how hard is for stuff to come by
Hey folks I’m thinking about adding a binary trigger to my S&W AR15 Sport II 5.56 and was wondering if any of you folks have any recommendations and suggestions on this.
Just picked one of these up yesterday. REALLY looking forward to trying it out. I did notice mine has a S&W logo on the right side (barrel pointed forward) where everyone else's has the M&P logo on it. I was only to find one site that had a photo of the Sport II with the S&W logo on the right side. It isn't even on the S&W website, so it has my curiosity pealed. Anyone else here got one like that ?
Great quality video young man! I've wavered so many times when it came to buying this rifle. The only hang up was I already had enough guns but the deals for this were great
I guess this will be my second firearm after I get my first one (which will be a 9mm pistol). Unless, the Primary Weapons Systems UXR has a CA Compliant version and if I have the budget for the UXR when I’m about to get my second firearm. Or a budget friendly shotgun such as the Mossberg 500 or Maverick 88 (under $700).

So i bought mine a couple months back i added a 13.5 inch handgaurd an looking to put a sight on it but im supposed to be going hunting soon anybody know if it would be at least decent on deer ? Or an advice just dont have the budget to get another rifle
My FFL dealer recommended the Vortex strikefire 11 red/green Sight which I’m waiting for from Euro optic. He also said it’s great for deer hunting . I don’t hunt but if I did I would use this AR . Hope this helps
