Great knifes! I have two 110 buck knifes and the Puma 745 with stag and one 725 with wooden handle, all from the eighties. My EDC knife is a Böker Optima, a high quality knife with exchangeable blades so i have always the right tool with me. Cheers!
Thanks again Ruben - these 2 models were commonplace back in the 1980’s for campers, hikers & hunters of Michigan. I carried a Buck 110 on my belt everyday for over 10 years back then, While the Puma 4 Star wasn't as common, (mainly because of availability & pricing), it was "the knife" of choice for many.
it's a beauty! I was going to buy a Sheffield knife when I seen this on sale ( I have wanted the Puma 4 Star for many many years). The TEW barlow I want is still available - hopefully it will still be there in a few weeks
I worked as a contractor for the railroad in the late 1970's, and a Buck 110 was pretty standard as a daily carry in the supplied black leather belt pouch. Funny, you never gave any thought to the weight, in fact if you were getting shined up to go out for Sunday dinner after a long week out of town, you felt odd not having it at your side. I must find mine, and mount it on the wall.
LOL! Mount that anchor! It was the same way with me. I bought my 1st one in '79, had just graduated high school & it was pretty much standard EDC gear here in Michigan.
Thanks Hobie, This knife has me in a conundrum - I got it from BladeHQ's close-out sale last year for a mere $99, with the full intention on having fun using it for camping & fishing etc. But now the that price has shot up to $200 - $250, I'm thinking of just keeping it safe here at the house🤦
I bought the Buck 55 for daily carry.I live in Europe.About 25 years ago I had a Puma knife with a wooden handle but same size and lockback too.Sadly the tip broke of a couple of years ago.
I really really like the Buck 55! did you get the ebony inlay? I hope to get one someday to go with my 110. That was Good Choice! as was the Puma. I had the tip of my 1st Buck 110 EDC break back in the 80's😞 Thanks for watching Erik😊👍
I have a Buck 110 that I've never carried. Like you said I just felt like I should own one if I want to call myself a collector. Mine only weights 597 pounds. It must be one of the lightweight models.
lol! I carried my 1st one for years through the 80's.. They were pretty much standard EDC here in Michigan. Broke the tip off that one & my second was stolen out of my truck. This one is my 3rd & has never been carried, but used quite a bit around the house when I need a knife that is super sharp & built like a tank. by the way, where is your vic farmer? lol...I see it finally made it to Arkansas, so maybe Monday is the day?
@@Warthogg1 I always carried a Browning USA folding hunter (beautiful knife) in my younger years just to be different. It actually weighs .5 ounces more than the Buck. My Farmer made it to Fayetteville so I should have it Monday.
LoL, I didn't own a 112 at that time. But, I do agree! it would make for a better matchup - I have since acquired 4 Buck 112's ... Love them! Maybe I'll do a comparison soon.
Well Brother, I hope to get out in the woods soon. I recently picked up a 70's Browning USA Lockback hunter that I'm itch'n to use. Having some medical issues holding me back right now 🙏 Have an awesome weekend my friend 🔥
This is the first I have heard of Puma, thank you.
I'm glad I was able to show it to you Fossil. This was/is considered on of the all-time greatest models Puma ever produced.

You can't go wrong will a Buck I've had mine since 1975. The stag handles on the Puma are awesome.
The two very pretty I would stay with the puma stag, good contribution friend 👍

Nice knife! I like Pumas a lot. After Sheffield knives, German one’s really float my boat. It’s all about the history!

Gorgeous stag. I like the blade design. Thumbs up!

Mismatch! Should compare to buck ranger.

Very cool knife. Nice score.
Thanks Henry - 2 classic lockbacks
A Hunter is the best carry for woods, second to a Ranger, given that you re not one of those pocket guys.

beautiful knife!
Thanks Professor... That was on my wish list for 30+ years📝☑️
Real nice knive , congrats
Thanks Eden! It's one I've wanted for my collection for a long time & to get it for $99 makes it twice as nice😁👍
Warthogg just bought the same exact knive because of this video , and let me tell you it’s a beauty , paid 189 at my local outdoor store
Great Choice Eden! I think it is the best knife Puma ever made..
Congrats my Friend! Enjoy 👍
