Oklahoma City, Oklahoma - On August 22, 2022, at approximately 1:18 p.m., Oklahoma City Police responded to the address of 2221 SW 78th St. on reports of multiple gunshots in the area. It was learned quickly that deputies with the Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Office had exchanged gunfire with a person at this residence while serving an eviction notice. Two of the deputies were struck by the gunfire.
As responding officers arrived on scene, they learned the suspect, 35-year-old Benjamin Plank had fled the residence in a vehicle trailering a boat. It was also learned the suspect had loaded several firearms into his vehicle prior to leaving. Benjamin Plank was spotted a short distance from the scene, shortly after the shooting occurred. Oklahoma City Police attempted to stop him on traffic when he refused, initiating a pursuit.
During the pursuit, while travelling northbound on S. I-35, the driver discharged rounds from a rifle at Oklahoma City Officers. Two involved officers were able to return fire toward the suspect. No injuries occurred from the gunfire. The suspect continued eastbound on Interstate-40 from Interstate-35 ultimately exiting at Air Depot Blvd. The suspect stopped at the Tinker Air Force Base gate and surrendered. Benjamin Plank was taken to an area hospital to be checked for injuries and booked into the Oklahoma County Detention Center on a multitude of charges including first-degree murder.
Both officers have been placed on routine paid administrative leave, pending the outcome of the investigation. Benjamin Plank is accused of fatally shooting Sgt. Bobby Swartz and wounding Deputy Mark Johns. Johns has since been released from the hospital. Court documents show that Plank also shot at but missed a third deputy.

That Officer with the Taser wouldn't stop!!! GOOD FOR HIM!!!💪
Imagine thinking you’re going to outrun the police with a boat attached to your car.
"Toy truck", not car.
I was thinking he knew he'd never outrun them so he thought firing at them would make them end the chase. Who even knows what these idiots are thinking anymore though
Cocaine is a helluva drug 😅
And to make matters worse.. you pull up to a military base smh
@@tefthompson4354Yeah, that was actually comical. If he had crashed the gate, how many fully loaded M-16 automatic rifles would have been pointed at him?
I don't understand why these videos get demonitized. Everyone agrees that police accountability is a good thing. These videos show what is happening in the real world.
Criminal thrive in a nor rule of law environment. Bigtech is run by white collar criminals.
What? I tought the world was a peacefull place
I don't understand why these police get defunded.
Because Susan Wojcicki wants a super happy fun place where everyone can have super happy fun times without being burdened by what's happening in the super sad and mean real world.
because bodycam footage is only good when racially-inflammatory videos can be selected and isolated. Everything showing cops in a good light is racist. Haven't ya heard?
I swear as a MP that would be crazy to see rolling up to your gate while you’re just trying to check IDs
I was involved in a similar situation. I was a Marine Corp MP at Roosevelt Roads Puerto Rico in the early 70's. I held 2 Puerto Rican police officers and a naval personnel at gun point at the main gate.
The short of the long is that this is a federal property and these police officers are now out of their jurisdiction unless the law has changed since then.
The 2 police officers that I dealt with, became a civil rights case in Puerto Rico. Both lost their jobs, one got 5 years in federal.
I hope that this doesn't become an issue at trial. This perp needs to fry.
Air Force here, I was thinking the same thing😂
@@golfnut2965 That's pretty much BS. When law enforcement in on pursuit, there are no jurisdictions. Who ever is on the lead, leads. See this video again, MP didn't intervene, not their biz. There're plenty of videos of police getting into military installations, one of the most famous one was on that US Airforce base where the suspect got killed while hitting a parked F18. Not a "new law" or whatever, this has been like that since 1776. Tell you even more: it's illegal for MPs to arrest civilians. So,. only the police have the authority to pursuit and arrest civilians, even if it means getting into a military base which they are not always required to ask permission for.
@@mentalizatelo stop talking out of your ass. jurisdiction IS different and is handled through MOUs and reciprocity agreements between jurisdictions. Not every adjacent jurisdiction has agreements with all adjacent ones, Indian Reservations are a common example. People get prosecuted in the jurisdiction where they (allegedly) committed the crime, so MP's CAN arrest civilians, dumbass, for anything from unauthorized access, speeding, unauthorized possession of firearms (just in this case). Civilians just don't get tried by Courts Martial, and instead go in front of Federal judges if prosecuted.
Oh, and no, police don't get to enter a base without permission. It's hilarious that someone with 0 knowledge gets online to post this stuff as if you're informed. Go crawl back in your dark corner. Oh, and by the way, I have 15 years in military and civilian law and law enforcement, but hey, you were alive in 1776 and know all the new and old laws, so...
Eh, every base I've been to had 2 guards to a lane of traffic with long guns and a quickly deployable barrier, so unless MP's are super zoned out, shouldn't seem that "crazy", more like - hey, that stuff we drill and train for is finally happening.
That’s the most action that security force has ever seen.
If this chase continued into the military base, I can just imagine the soldiers in pursuit.
Those air force SF guys are like fuuuuck no don’t make it into the gate we don’t want the paperwork

@@AGirlHasNoName829 The problem is there is lack of communication between local PD and BDOC on base. When I was in we had our local PD alter us of a high speed chase in the area - guys ended up crashing and then hopped our fence... which ended badly for them.

It always catches me off guard in videos like this when the guy finally surrenders. He's begging them to stop and wait a second, as if they are about to treat him politely after attempting to kill them and not slap him down like a sac of toxic meat.
it's not that we cant all so easily tell how these things go, just that some of us will have found out the hard way. kind of like when one dude created all of modern science cause no one ever just told his wild ass you see more time by looking at a clock. or maybe its more like when an apple hit that mf in the head and he found out about gravity

Yeah. We can't expect the cops to take any chances, can we? They don't actually want to die. Body cams are great we can see exactly what happens and why. They should be universally mandatory. Cops certainly have killed people who did not pose any threat and we should be able to see all these interactions. Body cams help protect everyone. What annoys me is the amount of people who flee, creating risk and wasting resources and despite footage like this being available the courts don't go any heavier on the perp. Him bodying a cop and putting one in hospital was better tho 🥰them delicious shots, nearly killed a 2nd aswel! Shame! Thats some payback tho for a death, a couple of dry stuns 😭😂😂
Shock that ho
The administering cop saw something threatening that the camera didn't pick up. That'll do.
“Bro stop!” Are you kidding me?? You shot at police while running in your vehicle. What do you think you can put your hands up and say “guys just kidding!” No. Those “ows” from the taser were glorious to hear.
Ol' Sparky at it again. Get some!
@@selftrue670 it’s amazing how ppl are. If he got away somehow (it would be a stretch with his brain) he wouldn’t have the same attitude. But since he got caught he expects them to change their tune n be nice.
that was unprofessional imo
the guy clearly gave up and the police made it harder for themselves to arrest the man.(they probably did it on purpose to punish him with the violence at the end of the video)
The Police isn't the Justice...
What is, then?
And that was the most "action" those SFs will ever see in their entire Air Force careers.
That officer figured out the cheat code to use rifle while driving, I can only use pistols..
As tragic as this case is it gives me infinite joy watching that cop taze the ever loving shid out of that garbage can of a man. RIP officer Bobby. You didn't deserve to go out that way. My deepest condolences to your friends and family
@@kingsrock6548 oh look, a troll or someone who is mentally challenged

You’ve gotta be a proper aggressive shithead to feel the need to taze someone who is clearly being adequately detained 😂 American cops so desperate to be the star in their imaginary action film they can forgo all professionalism and humanity
I hate, hate HATE that a deputy lost his life over something as senseless as an evicition.
Ya man 😕
Solution…pay your rent. Don’t shoot at cops.
Evictions can be dangerous, who knows the state of mind the person might be in, most of the time it's civil but on rare occasions, this is what happens

Define the d o j, f b I and police... They are the bad guys according to the orange guy...
"Controlled Maneuver" LOL I love the cop-speak. It's actually, precisely, an UNCONTROLLED MANEUVER.
And that’s how you recruit all those soldiers when they get out! 😂
rest in peace officer. lots of strength from his family and friends
oh someone died? who was it btw.

But hey, you gotta protect the 2nd amendment right, eh?
@@leeartlee915 Question has nothing to do with what occurred here.
@@SG-us4gz Uhhh, the suspect shot and killed those police offices with a weapon he obtained legally. In any other developed nation, that shit would not have been able to occur. So it is germane.
I’ve always found that the best high speed chases are when I’m towing either a large boat, or a trailer full of lawn care equipment.
That was the most painful taser deployment I’ve I ever seen lmaoo. Brodie tased his lungs lmaoo
That whole chase was nuts, but the end was just SHOCKING
That pun of yours, "shocking". Really does fit the case at the end. With that taser.
@Tj Smith I think that's why he put it.....
Watt an ending!
dont taze me bro
Sure was because the cop killer lived, anyone (blk)else would have died even if had no gun and just was fleeing
Rest in peace officer Bobby Swartz.
Thank you for your service and sacrifice.
He passed away?
@@gamerdadjr432 He did. This scumbag killed him.
@@gamerdadjr432 Yes. Read the description.
He didn't have to enter the man's residency to evict him. He made that choice now he's gone
@@Jcaeser187 At the very least he could have sold that boat and afforded his rent for a while till he could get a job or something.

I've never seen anything like that. Wild.
Props to the cops.
