I accidentally came across this. I’ve been verrry depressed & this talented, late comedian made me L A U G H. From the bottom of my heart... thank you for this video😃🙏🏼👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻❣️❣️
All my life I heard about Joan Rivers. I can’t believe I’m just now discovering what a treasure she is. This came out over 40 years ago? Blown away by how well put together her stage personality is and how much of her banter is still relevant today.
Myself as well. Back then, I didn't care for most female comedians. Joan was a definite exception. She cracked me up. I remember the first time I saw her, she said something like, "I'm so flat. When Melissa was born, she started sucking on my shoulder."
I don't think in all my years of watching Carson live & on UA-cam that I've ever heard him laugh this much and this genuinely. Joan was quicker than a whistle.
I've been binge watching her interviews, stand ups and reality shows for the past week and I haven't laughed so much. I still can't believe it's been 4 years since she passed away!!! I'm watching while laughing and smiling at the same time. Rip. QUEEN JOAN!
Binge watching many video highlights of this comedy legend. Its 2019 and there are no comedians, Male or female, that comes close to being in her league. I haven't laughed, I mean really laughed, this much in quite awhile. Lol. Seriously, a true legend.
John Mulaney is that good. Not his creepy lunchbox stuff, but his stand up. Fluffy is that good. Kathleen madigan is probably better... v little swearing but she's hilarious.
The late great legendary icon, Queen 👑 Joan a comedic genius. I cannot accept her being gone, I miss my beautiful Joan 😭😭😭. She is sorely missed and beloved by many. Thx for the memories...
She was incredible, most of her material you couldn’t even see today on TV without somebody protesting or wanting to sue you immediately. The funniest thing is everyone could laugh at them selves to a degree. Nobody can do that today, gosh I miss John Rivers.
I absolutely Love Love Love Joan Rivers. She was a remarkable woman. Fantastic woman. It just makes me feel so sad that Carson was gosting her when she got her own show at Fox, treating her soo bad. He really showed he's true colors, and he turned out to be an Axxxxle.
I got to meet her very briefly not long before she died. She was so sweet and kind to me for the few seconds we had together. She's always been one of my favorites.
Damn. I grew up in the 90s knowing Joan just from her talk show. Didn't see it much. But I never knew she was this quick fire brilliant. Probably my favorite aspect of stand up comedy is imagery. The way she transmits imagery with her language and body language is on par with Winters and Rickles, even Robin. "She pierced her ears and gravy came out" LMAO Amazing comic and woman.
She was and is gorgeous... With an animated mind and a beautiful smile.... Johnny Carson probably had to wear those senior pants... he was laughing so har! LOOK
@@BluesLicks101 Yep. Today, they think they have to go extreme and over the top. It takes much more skill to walk that fine line and be tastefully tasteless. They could convey their ideas without throwing them right in your face. Don Rickles was also VERY good.
none she cursed at 4:43 but also they were more limited to vulgar language back then and she wanted to get invited back. Cursing was a big part of her routine as tv got more liberal. Either way, she was very gracious and kind.
Archie... this is a classic. She's so quick! It's sad what happened between her and Johnny. One right after the other and worked till the day she died. Thank you.
The Best comedian that ever lived. I loved her comedy dearly, her and David Brennan where are the best. Funniest pair I have seen in a long time!!! R. I. P. Joan and David, until we meet again!!!🤣🤣🤣👸🤴 King & Queen of Comedy!! What a pleasure to have known them both, and their comedy was great!!!
Either her memory or her ability to ad lib was just off the charts. Because she blew through that whole conversation like it was a standup routine. She was so far ahead of her time.
It was also a show that aired in the same time slot as Johnny. Still sad. But the same time slot IMO was key to the issue Johnny had with it. He truly adored Joan and was hurt.
The show was not on at another time. He then of course would have supported her. She was airing opposite him on another channel in the exact same time spot. That is very different. I do not blame him. Sorry, it was a slap in the face to Johnny. I sided with him. Edgar, her husband was advising her then. He ended up committing suicide and I think that she left him a few months before.
Alex for years Joan said that she called him to let him know that FoX was going to give her her own show. He hung up on her and never spoke to her again. If she did anything underhanded she would never have credited Johnny Carson for giving her her career. As much as I love Johnny Carson, he was a nasty bastard off camera in his personal life.
I just watched a rivers show she did in england in 86 or so and she told the exact same joke's she just mixed the gags up a little, but I guess is not the joke it's the way you tell em. Rest in peace joan you truely rocked.
GOD, Joan Rivers was just absolutely brilliant and a true legend. She never, ever slowed down and was just as brilliant, cutting-edge and hilarious until her untimely death. Thank you for posting this video.
Joan Rivers...her material is still amazing and relevant 40 years after it debuts. She is Iconic

Joan Rivers was a savage on stage. Funny as hell.
I love when Joan goes, "Oh grow up" after she make the punchline. She was such a natural 😂🤣

"Oh grow up," that was her signature and "can we talk."

She would be very happy to hear that , she has always said comedy is very therapeutic she always used comedy to deal with tragedy

Robin Williams too. Non stop.
Even more than Rickles
