Lesson 1: How to invent the future.
I read somewhere that this song is still holding a record of the most played song in disco clubs.
One of the best female vocalist ever. God how I love her.
They said at the time that this was the sound of the future by 15 years. More than 40 years have passed and it's still the sound of the future. Unmatched.
You said it! It will always be the sound of the future and futures to come!
completely agree
Man,the sound just is so fantastic
So true, king. SO TRUE!!!
For future lovers
Donna Summer was amazing she didn't need auto-tune or anything else her voice was just something you don't hear much anymore
her work is outstanding. I just watched a live version with Giorgio Moroder and his band, his vocalist was good but nowhere near as great as Donna Summer.
Love the way she shakes it in the beginning.
NO AUTOTUNE!! ;)
No autotune just the beauty of a human voice. I can't believe she's gone already
Neither can I feel sad she is no longer with us.
Yep, gone way too soon.
Sad what took Her so soon, the dust from the 9/11 attacks, She lived too close to it. She was great RIP.
@@GEOREGETAZZMAN I read she was in the tower at the time of the attack...
@@bazaardesrevesgui I didn't read that, I read the dust got Her at Her home. Sad ending for a great Lady.
Incredible that this is live and her voice is THAT good
this was a time when talent was still number one on the list of what's needed to be an artist
Did you know that as well as her music career she also sang in her local church choir ? You can't do that if you can't actually sing !
Exactly I knew Donna summer could sing but I never knew the range of her voice . She sounds amazing. I can't imagine if someone tried to cover this song live seems like it would be pretty difficult.
The queen of disco!👌🏻
All Day long I think of Donna Summer . I feel love
1977 hot summer just started work Mansfield, England, all the northern soul boys loved this.
The Song when Jesus defeats Evil out of this World once and for all .
I had the pleasure to meet her in 1979. She was one of the nicest, kindest people I’ve ever met in my life. There’s a long story to the meeting. But all I want people to know is that she was great, and very kind. Beautiful lady and a fantastic voice. More talent in her little finger than anyone today imho
Donna Summer....queen of cool 🥰🥰🥰
Ur so lucky
Mate! You can’t just walk in, say THAT, then walk out lol.
Spill!
@@gotitmadejademathews6855 long story short, I was a sparring partner and close friend of Marvin Halgler. It was a publicity event that lasted all weekend. Then we met her a few times after that
That's so good it's so good its so good..,
Electronic music and EDM were born here!
Because the music was composed by Giorgio Moroder who pioneered the use of the synthesizer early on…
@@timpren yes. I do like what the chicago and detroit boys did with it a few yrs later.
Freddie Mercury once said she had the best voice he’d heard from a female.
The queen of disco!👌🏻
Interesting. I’d agree. Ann Wilson of Heart comes close. He should know since he had the best male voice in rock.
freddie was not wrong
Queen of the world disco music donna Summer forever❤🌎❤
@@lt7378And Producer Quincy JONES who used to produce Chaka Khan, Michael Jackson and a whole host of Top American Artistes said that Donna had the widest range he had ever worked with and that she had the ability to sound like anyone. I see what you did there! Queen, indeed.

Here in this transparent live version, without all the impressive effects that were done in the studio recording, we can hear how really good Donna Summer is. What a voice.
Just a little bit of ecstasy to take her on an amazing trip!!!!
Exactly what I was thinking
Russians aren’t welcome here.
70s
70!!!!!!
omg.. .what a Queen..still lovin this since 1977...
Yes. What a beautiful voice. I love her 😮.
Slightly faster than the 'original' version, I love the urgent pace of this performance with the bass and the synthesizer not leaving you any time to breathe and just get lost in the sound of her voice and the backing vocals. Spectacular.
Ritmo urgente... acertaste brodher
I love her music and is greatly missed. Yes I love me some Donna baby all the time!!
She absolutely made disco liveable in the late seventies when I was a DJ. She was a whole different deal. 41 years later, I still listen to her and this song on a morning walk, with Koss headphones, out of sight.
And what an incredible hour-glass figure. She almost looks like she's straddling the microphone stand. Holy!
beautiful among the beautiful, goddess among the goddesses
Love this so much!!!
The 70’s bring it back !!!!
I always think of when my Nanna worked at Bejoss in Brixton in 1970 . She worked in the cafe and music was alway blaring from the radio.
Happy happy memories 😊🥰❤️
donna summer the queen forever by the disco music,💖💖💖👏👏💅
Miss Donna Summers was a super singer and on top was a very gorgeous lady !!!!! i will remenber her for the rest of my life !!!! God Bless !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
April still loving it it’s so good 😮
Qeen!!!❤❤🌹🌹💯
I was just 14 years old when this song came out in 1976. I have love it since then.
She is definitely feeling good what ever she's on. These were the days of partying and feeling good
I thought the same thing, lol. But whatever it was that got her in the mood and all groovy cannot take credit for that voice…
"WHAT EVER SHE'S ON"? YOU'RE AS 5UK3D UP AS YOUR NAME STATES.
It doesn't matter what your using ""it got the same message ❤️✌️👍
When dance music still required people to play actual instruments and sing live. Donna Summer was a hard working rocker.
Hearing this song for the first time in 1977 is probably the closest humanity has ever come to receiving a broadcast from another planet...
Donna Summer was so mesmerizingly beautiful, and super talented🥀🥀🥀.
Humanity should feel lucky that such an artiste existed within our lifetime.
She was a true technician of Her time and she made the best of her time on stage.
I assume that she was paid well for her talents.
I wished I was alive to sign her up.
goddess of the 80's !!!!!
My god her voice was amazing. Beautiful woman and no one can ever top her.
A lot of singers would have made this raunchy whether they meant to or not. Donna's voice was so sweet but had power behind it and made this spiritual
Madonna's rendition to her in her confession tour was on key point
A natural beauty added to a natural talent
Fabulous Singer and Gorgeous Woman.
The queen of disco. Resting in Peace.
R.I.P. Donna...your Sound and music will make us feel good for ever...
Vocals!!!! One of the best female vocalists ever. Patti Labelle said, "She was the greatest and underrated vocalist ever!!" Dick Clark said, "She never got her due . The most underrated vocalist". I miss my Queen!!!
James Darling Jr Yes, I agree with you. But I like to mention here that late Ms. Donna Summer was the most famous female artist in USA and also in other western countries during 1977 - 1983 period. Her albums were sold in millions and reached platinum status. She earned the record for three consecutive platinum selling double albums in late 70's! Her 1979 double album "Bad Girls" reached multi-platinum status almost all around the world!
Unfortunately her commercial success began to fall only after about 1984 but she continued recording and again had a UK gold album in 1989 and her last album in 2008 which again entered the charts. She was a legend! She was the greatest artist with a great voice but became underrated only later on which is very sad to note. She passed away in 2012.
Yes, we miss Donna Summer! We miss the Queen of disco!
You got that right. I had the pleasure of spending a long lunch hour with Dick Clark in 1975, and he progressed so well through the years to come with trends and artists. In 45 years of radio, few can touch Donna. But if I had to list, we would be here for hours.
@@3Rubee Yes, you are absolutely right. In 45 years of radio, only a few can touch Donna! We can spend hours writing and talking about the vocals, the songs and the talents of late Ms. Donna Summer, the Queen of Pop/Disco.
I also noted that you had that special privilege of meeting late Mr. Dick Clark, the famous radio and TV personality at a lunch hour in 1975.
Very good memories for you!
Thank you very much for replying me!
Totally with you on that statement I think she was the best ever
@@brianmorley7165 Thank you for the reply.
Indeed Donna Summer was the best ever!
One of the very best female singers ever, yet she rarely appears on most of those “ best of” lists. On the strength of this flawless performance, she should.
I've just watched her doc:" Love to Live You" and you're definitely right. Her voice live.............wow just wow.
Quelle chanson et quelle Femme !!!
Still dancing to this 🎉AMAZING
Giorgio Moroder and Donna Summer. An exceptional combination. Love it!
Exactly, later Giorgio worked mainly with Alternative bands like sister of mercy, nine inch nails, kmfdm....I always thought Donna would have made and incredible transition into new wave, industrial, and alternative.... 🕊
@@Good.Glacier Georgio chose the $ path. Electronic music would have to wait 13 yrs to be a mainstream success.

What a beautiful woman,angelic voice
The way she emotes this song with arm and hand gestures, with her whole body, is subtly powerful, and mesmerizing to me.
I was around 9 yrs old when this was out and have small memory of disco Era but I think it was one of the best Era compares to now!!
The impact of this track on dance music is incalculable.
Thanks to Giorgio Moroder's throbbing, pulsating synthesizers and Summer's sensual epic-orgasmic vocal, "I Feel Love" claims tomorrow in the name of disco.
Didn't know that was Moroder. Together in Electric Dreams one of those sounds of high school.
It was a collaboration (Summer, Moroder, Bellotte)
Sound Engineer was Jurgen Coppers who hardly gets any mention. Donna worked as a stenographer so was adept with keyboards and how they work and she wrote the lyrics in 30 minutes and recorded it without retake or repeat (she was known as “One-Take-Donna” as a result). All her songs were recorded once only!
@@kojoharrison630 one take! That is true artistry. Wow.
@@tonyvargas368 Yes Tony V! She was famous amongst her producers and collaborators to be a ‘One Take’ Singer/Recording Artists. She was said to have the Style and Character of each Track in her head and she just delivered it just once without repetition. She was reported to have recorded the Entire Album of ‘Another Time And Place’ 1988, co-written and Produced by the British Stock Aitken & Waterman in 35 minutes. She claimed later on that the Album was her easiest recording in her Career.
Peter Waterman in his tribute to her said that Donna was so humble and unassuming that even though she did all the work around the Album , she however each step expressed to the Team how thankful and grateful she was (even though she was the one who did all the work)
I fccc king knewwwwwww morder was behind this !!!! Omg
Jeezzz let me live in this era
