For the new players that are wondering why I was standing still, i've done around 200-400 Fortress, some with a lot more damage mods than this, I've never before taken damage from the fortress boss. The "Debuff" is less action speed, not increased damage. I'm assuming since its a lightning ability and potentially it works similar to shaper balls and most abilities, that damage only rolls once, so maybe it top rolled the damage, combined with the cast speed which makes the damage, if its like 100-1000 damage. Also seems like it does more damage on the return spin than initial spin, but I've never taken damage from the spin move in the past 200+ boss kills. Even with crazy damage mods.
it's got like a 969-2908 variance so maybe you actually just got exodia'd with like a fat crit or something? unless you're crit immune?
the rip is actually more wild than i thought cuz that last tick is doing over 3k LOL so unless it's a lot of sync-d hits on the same frame from turbo or something?
3k of an elemental spell in 1 frame for this build seems insane now that i'm looking at this a second time jfc

It doesn't take a new player to look at your health bar now and then. Overconfidence is an insidious killer.

It almost looks as if he died on purpose there lmao. ES and Cloak buff gone and still didn't flinch.
But crazy that something could tear thru all the defensive layers this character had.I honestly dont explain it as even with ES, Cloak and Sigil off char still had 20k phys EHP and 77k ele EHP.
Defense builds have no place in poe even if u get it to a sub 1% chance to die, thats still enough to never play it
@Rerpesentz lmfaooooo that's a take of all time. Go take a look at any of the hc ssf boss races or even just hard-core ladders and tell me again that defensive builds have no place in poe while it's dominated by builds with 3x or more defensive layers than softcore.
Defenses have a spot in poe cause it means you have time to make decisions or react and survive. Fights and the general game get so much easier when you're able to survive at least 1 hit or more. Ziz here had time to react or move to dodge he just chose not to because of complacency. His build was sick and could tank anything so he wasn't expecting to have to do anything. But he only gets to that spot because of the 150+ hours he had playing the character where it did tank everything.

The last tick was 25** on him. The tick of magnetic storm is between 969.2 to 2908. So he probably took high roll of a few ticks. His luck finally ran out for standing all the time like a peeppeepeep. He outlasted Steel anyway.
First rotation killed the ES and arcane cloak then he tanked it again, wcyd honestly.

This boss does many consecutive hits both with the beam and when you just stand near it while it rotates.
Here it has too much speed and you have too low action speed (-60%?).
With not enough action speed you don't instant leech fast enough to recover.
Can be that other times you didn't stand too close to it in the beam phase and took less damage because of that as well.
Boss just needed Ziz's corpse for a graveyard craft

Shots 1-5: Clearly missed.
Shots 6-9: Missed due to recoil (bad spray control).
Shots 10-11: Very close, but recoil and inaccuracy make these reasonable misses.
Shot 12: Likely didn't actually fire because he was already dead.
I find it wild that the T17 bosses can be so different for each person. Fortress is by far the easiest boss for my armour stacker. Its stationary, has no invulnerability and deals like 0 dmg.
It is the easiest for my build by far. Ive done 400+ with crazy damage mods without it ever doing damage
That is deserved. Like once that shield went under half I would just dip out of that face tanking strategy.

Well his hp basically didnt move until it wasnt there anymore. But yeah I guess he didnt expect anything to take out his ES and then his HP within a tight enough timeframe.

T17 is super strange to me, sometimes more or less the same mods play totaly different.

He plays on hardcore right? When you die in HC, you go straight to the log in screen?
he used a logout macro (which is why he ended up on the login screen), in HC you can "resurrect in town" and you always get shifted to standard league if you die
Wait, I don't think I understand. Isn't this just softcore with extra steps? If have a macro to avoid certain death, why not play on softcore instead?

Why insult me for no reason? I'm a new player (currently on 2nd character) and I was trying to understand why this is a thing.
It still doesn't make sense to me playing on the mode that means "death = removal of your character from the league" if you have a macro to logout in order to avoid the mechanic when you feel you're going to die.
In my newbie eyes this defeats the entire point of playing on hardcore.

I am playing same build with similar defensive layer in sc, and i totally understand why ziz auto pilot this fight.
Cause this boss never deals dmg at all after 100 maps maybe i have done, soo you slack
Importantly tho, i always use frost shield and never be that closer to boss cause its still dangerous. For hc after he saw es deleted and hp bar keep going down and up that much, i think he should have moved or logd off allready

That death was so preventabel.
It's the debuff stacking to 10, that escalated boss dmg too high. At 2 was was fine, at 5 was fine, at 8 it became scary, at 10 it became lethal.
Actually not correct, debuff only slows the character. Maybe frenzy charges stacking along increased attack and cast speed made the laser hit you X times instead of 1 while passing through? Would make sense.
I'm almost certain it is the combination of being slowed - therefore less heal per second - with boss being hasted into oblivion by map mods and frenzy charges- therefore more dps. Either of those would be fine, but combination became super deadly when both elements reached full effect.

appearance of sudden death is just him running outta all the diff conditional defenses of a mana hiero
No frost shield and the first rotation killed his mana pool and took Arcane Cloak down - one layer gone.
The second one killed his ES - second layer gone.
And since he didn't recover both enough and stood in the third, it took his life pool. Which is a weak pool since mana stacking hiero does not have as high evasion or armor as others and can only fit one defensive aura with eternal blessing. So that last hit was against a 3,9k standing target with medium evasion/armor - a deserved death honestly, considering he basically just stood there and did not notice his life pool dwindling
@@Daniel-zy1ir He didn't pay attention to his mana. In softcore it wouldn't matter, but as a build with mana as primary defense in hardcore, as soon as that dips below 20% in a boss fight, I would dip out. To further elaborate on it, yes, I am aware that Cloak takes a good chunk of mana. And at the first few cloaks Ziz recovered his mana normally. Before ripping, though? It barely recovered whatsoever.
So Helene was right at the start of the league, your death was inevitable ;D

Hillock is first and maybe second ... another 2 or 3 times to the fire lady ... maybe one or two random deaths ... once I arrive in the Mud Flats I already died several times ... usually A10 Kitava is 100+ deaths
Which is why hardcore is not really an option ;)

I get that the boss doesn't normally do any damage, but why would you just not react at all to your ES getting deleted? This was a preventable death.

I'm guessing the 10 stacks of debuff were undoing his defenses somehow.

Standing still as his ES got destroyed and then just staying standing still for the life to go the same way.
The debuff only lowers action speed. Doesn't apply any form of extra damage taken.
This is why I don't trust mana stacking build tankiness xD only huge on paper in pob but in actual game, it's meh. For example: the rip clips of Steelmage, imexile and now Zizaran. Only conversion damage taken from both physical and elemental damage, chaos damage are reliable to trust on.
What does that mean 😂 where do you convert it to when you convert all forms of damage ? I mean every Build has its weaknesses there is no immortal . In this case He should have dodged 2 seconds to get his mana back which would have doubled his hitpool for the hit . When you do conversion you still weak to -Ele Res and Ele Penetration etc.
@@JP-bs8gl look at Ben build, Dan build, Ruetoo build. Convert ele to other ele or chaos mean u don't need to worry about penetration anymore. Also apply armour to mitigate ele damage taken is way better than rely on mana... Still 😂 much? 🤔
Sure its the build fault.. not Ziz fault by standing in the attack for 4 whole rotations, ignoring that his mana is at 0, his ES is at 0 and his arcane clock is gone :D
@@DuK-2102 But there Are so many Arts of mitigations. Armour Apply to Ele is cool But you forget this Build has Melding with 90 all Res . Having Both is only really good for Valdos and Deep Delve really thats even over kill for t17
His build is insanely tanky "in actual game," the issue is that he was at basically less than 25% "health" with his mana and energy shield completely gone before he even realized he was taking damage. I also always use Frost Shield when I'm attempting to facetank anything, which might not have saved him, but it could have given an extra second.

That was the full reaction. What did you expect? And xQc smashing the table and all that? Ziz probably wondered how he died so quickly and then made a new character. This happens often with HC players.

He made a mistake by not dodging but tbh my archmage is like 40 div and I stood still and tanked that phase. I believe he got high roll crit 3 times and he made a mistake by not noticing it he was getting comfortable. Mistakes happen.

It's a really strong build, but here was 100% player mistake. He face tanked even after losing All his ES. Arcane cloak buff. And all his mana. He had plenty of time to react as well.
