The lighting was so good in Doom2016, still looks amazing.
Makes you realize just how bad the lighting in Eternal is in comparison. Eternal's lighting looks so gutted in comparison.
The graphics overall are much better in Doom 2016
@@shaishavpathak I'd argue that Doom Eternal still has better models, shading, and a much better gore system than Doom 2016, but the lighting is indeed lacking by a lot.
I mean it was only 5 years ago, so yeah.

Hugo martin said he lit the game up a lot more because doom eternal is much more pressuring so you want more view of the combat arena. He didn’t like that you couldn’t see everything at once, and that it was unfair to him considering that in doom eternal you are engaged in much more altitude based combat and overall more flexible movement around the field.
2016's lock on rockets are so slow and unresponsive that it's painful
died 10 times because the lock on took 4 seconds
On the other hand, remote detination is super fuckin effective.

Going back to 2016 from eternal is so hard for me, I keep hitting shift to dash and trying to right click with the super shotty to meathook. The mobility in eternal is just so fucking nice.

Going back to 2016 just feels wrong, like the voice in the back of my heads going “chainsaw Chainsaw CHAINSAW” and then you look back at the ammo bar and you have 40 shells left
The glitches are just reminders that Bethesda also helped make this game

Tbh. I tried playing it where I left off a year ago and scaling The Argent Tower pissed me off so much from falling off, I had to take a break. The mobility is garbage or I need to adjust my settings.

The mega health appears way more than 2 times in the game once in level 5 once In level 6 two times in level 7 once In level 8 there is one in level 9 it does show up once in Vega core and in the final level there might be some in other two hell levels.

Honestly, would have been cool if they had brought back the hellrazers as far range sniper units in Doom Eternal.

I really wish Eternal had melee. Double tap for a blood punch or something but it felt like a real brawl with demons in 2016.

As archaic as 2016 feels just five years later, I can still go back and play it and have fun just as much as I can go back and get Knee Deep in the Dead.

Recently going back to this game it's so much fun, even if the mobility feels restricted you still run super fast. Snap maps are also really good too a lot of people make some amazing and challenging levels.
The improvements to maneuverability in Eternal made D16 unplayable for me. I just can’t do it, every time I boot up D16 I can only think about playing Eternal instead.

To avoid the bug where it puts your upgrades in the area scanning technology when you upgrade resistance just dont use your mouse and do it with the keyboard

The only thing this game does better than Eternal, is the pick ups and interactions. Like, in Eternal you pick up shiny floating colorful guns, and walk up to doors and they open, while in 2016 there is an actual animations for it.
Edit: also the heavy cannon sounds waaaaaay better in 2016
Atmosphere, plot, presentation, boss fights, power up usage. Eternals core gameplay is better, but 2016 has the flavor on point.

8:25 If anyone else is having the audio issue where this scene suddenly gets way too quiet, it's because it's not based on the voice volume setting for some reason; it's based on master volume. To make it normal, turn master volume up, then either turn every other volume setting down. Or if you're playing with a volume wheel on your amp/keyboard/headset or whatever, turn that a bit down.

I am trying to beat ultra nightmare on this game, I found that I died the most at 50-80 health range. Because the screen doesn’t turn red so I feel like I’m not in danger and I play a bit more aggressive, but charged imp or soldier shots can kill u in 1 hit. Also in both Doom2016 and Doom Eternal u get a bit of damage resistance at low health
After you're done with your doom 3 let's play do a dusk let's play then a Ultra kill let's play and then finally a serious Sam 4 let's play.
Tip: against the shield guys in Doom-2016 u can use the stun bomb of the plasma gun to remove their shields entirely
Only the stun bomb would do this in 2016, regular plasma fire does fuckall.
@@goobermagoob9160 yes the primary fire from plasma rifle does nothing against shields. But the stun bomb is very effective. Alternatively you can also use chainsaw, or launch a rocket or grenade right at his feet

I really wish that they made the pistol a lot better such as having two mods like the rest of them one would be fully automatic and the other one would fire a plasma rocket or some crap

@@rockchik409 I'm just talking about 2016, shield boys in early game do feel unfair, but you still have plenty of ways to take them out, remote detonation can by pass the shield, chainsaw is an instant kill, and the plasma stun mod is an instant shield take down.

Am I the only one who thinks that doom 2016 was WAYYY cooler than Doom Eternal? (Aside from the music the music is awesome in both) The graphics felt better, the doom slayer felt more badass, and the demons looked gorier and more badass
I think 2016 wins in aesthetics and atmosphere but the gameplay and overall challenge factor goes to 2020. I love them both as much as I love the original.

I prefer 2016 to Eternal after coming back and forth a few times. The atmosphere, the music. Theres something here that Eternal dropped that makes 2016 the winner in my book. If 2016 had Eternals handful of additions to the Slayers kit, itd beat Eternal by a country mile.
I enjoy them both myself but transferring Eternals full kit over to 2016 would require a total rework of enemies and combat arenas. Imagine how easy 2016 would be if you could dash and meathook, it’s already a relaxing jaunt On ultra violence and only mildly challenging(for me) on nightmare. I feel like if you could dash in 2016 nothing would ever touch you(enemies were way slower in 2016).

Is Doom 2016 worth playing after playing Doom Eternal?
For the experience, sure.
But they're SO different in terms of mechanics.
I replayed some of D16 recently and that shit felt...weird, so I don't recommend going in expecting Doom Eternal's speed .
The music is top notch though.
Man, Doom 2016 still makes me feel badass. I think it's the immersion and that demons feel like a threat. I wish there was an option to make Eternal's visual presentation more similar to 2016
