They are cutting ties with the mainly Jewish people's of the people around them, not really from Israel/Israelis. Which Israelis are a group of people from different religions, cultural backgrounds and races.

Hamas went way too far. They didn't just score themselves the usual military/political response.. They got themselves declared war apon.. Huge difference.. Unfortunately, wars tend to mean untold sufferings, privations, and horror gets inflicted on the civilians who are caught in the middle. The complicate and the innocent alike. Look up the stats of almost any war in history, and you'll see that civilians always get the worst of it... This is what hamas has brought upon their own people.. Of whom, the vast majority supported hamas' attacks..
War sucks. Everyone involved has a duty to end the misery as soon as it is practicable.. Sometimes, that means killing and hurting thousands in order to save hundreds of thousands.. All hamas has to do is walk away. All they have to do to stop their peoples suffering is to stop being cowards and hiding amongst their civilians.. All Palestine has to do is install a non-violent government.. But they've sworn to utterly destroy the Israelis for decades and millennia( Gaza is a Philistine city, after all)... Most wars finish when one side obliterates the other. It's best not to kick off a war at all.. Hamas knew what would happen. They're happy for Israel to create as many martyrs as possible. Both willing and unwilling.
They bring all this on themselves and then, so cynically cry foul.. such is the way of all things.. especially idiots who don't know their history..
